The paper study the deformation characteristics of the Prefabricated bamboo reinforced porous concrete slab through points with four points focused beam loading method. The results show that flexural behavior of prefab slab can be improved by adding bamboo reinforcement. Along with the increase of bamboo reinforcement ratio, deflection of prefab board will gradually reduce. Through the loading deflection curve, we can discover that the bamboo reinforced prefab slab with the linear elastic state, and the slab can withstand a certain load after cracking. Bamboo reinforced with strengthening and toughening effect for porous concrete, prefabricated bamboo reinforced porous concrete plate can be used better in slope protection engineering.

Use of hollow material in slab can reduce self-weight and deflection than solid slab with CFRP reinforcement. This study was intended to evaluate the bending performance of void flexural members with CFRP reinforcements by bending tests. Test results showed that specimens with void and solid section had the similar failure mode by concrete crushing at the compression zone, and that there was a big flexural capacity difference between the two section. Flexural capacity of solid section with CFRP bars was increased by 55% for void section. Thus, for the design of flexural members with CFRP bars by concrete crushing failure, it is important to calculate the exact distribution of strains and stresses, and to consider the reduction of flexural strength of void section.

This work presents a model to predict the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete slabs, combining the Mazars damage model for simulation of the loss of stiffness of the concrete during the cracking process and the Classical Theory of Laminates, to govern the bending of the structural element. A variational formulation based on the principle of virtual work was developed for the model, and then treated numerically according to the Finite Difference Energy Method, with the end result a program developed in Fortran. To validate the model thus proposed have been simulated with the program, some cases of slabs in flexure in the literature. The evaluation of the results obtained in this study demonstrated the capability of the model, in view of the good predictability of the behavior of slabs in flexure, sweeping the path of equilibrium to the rupture of the structural element. Besides the satisfactory prediction of the behavior observed as positive aspects of the model to its relative simplicity and reduced number of experimental parameters necessary for modeling.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the influence of the freeze-thaw cycles on the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete members. The variation of the concrete stress-strain relationship due to frozen-thawed deterioration was considered. The temperature distribution was calculated based on the heat conduction theory, and the damaged region affected by freeze-thaw cycles was determined. By using Reponse-2000 program, the flexural behaviour of a reinforced concrete slab was analyzed and predicted. The analytical results show that with increase of number of freeze-thaw cycles, the yield moment, the ultimate moment and the curvature ductility decreased, while the relative depth of neutral axis and the midspan deflection increased.

Fly slab is one of the precast concrete slab technological development that has been researched and patented by Ir . Sulistyana in 2011. The concept is how to reduce the mass of precast concrete slab with makes ribs on the concrete slab. To minimize the volume of concrete plate and while maintaining tensile area to makes the style transfer mechanism of concrete to reinforcement or otherwise, are expected to reduce the mass of the structure without reducing strength. Comparative study will be conducted in this research based on Planning of Building Construction Rusunawa in Surakarta, Central Java. This comparative study is done by compare the results of the structural design Rusunawa existing Surakarta and ready to build using conventional precast concrete massive, with a new structure plan Rusunawa Surakarta with using fly slab as material plate, beam and column structural elements using conventional concrete. Based on the analysis results, showed reduction in the volume of concrete and reinforcement elements beam and coloumn Rusunawa Surakarta structure is 20,25% and 6,3 %. Reduction reaction in the vertical structure of the Rusunawa Building in Surakarta is 16,93%.

The flexural behavior of concrete beams reinforced with bamboo was studied experimentally. Bamboo was used as the main reinforcement with different bonding materials in place of steel. A nominal mix of M20 grade concrete was adopted for the beam design. The Bamboo surface was treated with common binding materials like Araldite and Bitumen. Araldite and Bitumen are good binding materials used to connect materials like steel, carbon and many different materials. Two specimens were casted with bitumen coating, two specimens were coated with araldite, two specimens were casted without any binder coating and a specimen was casted using normal steel reinforcement. Beams were casted with bamboo reinforcement and cured for 28 days. Deflection and flexural behavior of the beams were monitored. The test results imply that araldite coating in concrete beams with bamboo reinforcement increased the flexural strength to that of bamboo reinforced concrete using bitumen which is lesser strength to that of steel reinforced concrete beam.

Post-Tensioned (PT) method is a widely used technique to prevent cracking and to minimize the deflection which is resulted by loads. In this method, stress is applied after concrete placing and reach adequate hardening and strength. This paper investigates the structural behaviour of PT two-way concrete slabs. The main objective of this study involves a detailed flexural behavior analytical investigation of PT concrete two-way slab with the different bonded tendon layout. This will be achieved by non-linear Finite Element (FE) analysis programs method, to choose the most effective and optimum position of tendon layout with different number of tendons and applied load on the concrete two-way slab. A parametric study was conducted to investigate the effect of tendons layout on the overall behavior of post-tensioned two-way concrete slab. The result obtained from finite element analysis showed that the failure load in PT in both directions increased about 89 % as compared with slab PT in one direction.

This study focuses on the flexural behavior of timber beams externally reinforced using carbon fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP). Linear and non-linear finite element analysis were proposed and validated by experimental tests carried out on 44 timber beams to inversely determine the material properties of the timber and the CFRP. All the beams have the same geometrical properties and were loaded under four points bending. In this paper the general commercial software ANSYS was used, and three- and two-dimensional numerical models were evaluated for their ability to describe the behavior of the solid timber beams. The linear elastic orthotropic material model was assumed for the timber beams in the linear range and the 3D nonlinear rate-independent generalized anisotropic Hill potential model was assumed to describe the nonlinear behavior of the material. As for the CFRP, a linear elastic orthotropic material model was introduced for the fibers and a linear elastic isotropic model for the epoxy resin. No mechanical model was introduced to describe the interaction between the timber and the CFRP since failure occurred in the tensile zone of the wood. Simulated and measured load-mid-span deflection responses were compared and the material properties for timber-CFRP were numerically determined.

This paper presents a study of the flexural behavior of strengthened and repaired reinforced concrete two slabs by ferrocement layers.  This study included testing 11 simply supported two way slabs, which include 1 control slabs, 8 strengthened slabs and 2 repaired slabs. In the strengthened slabs the effect of the thickness of ferrocement layers, the compressive strength for mortar and number of wire mesh layers of ferrocement on the ultimate load, mid span deflection at ultimate load and intensity of cracks was investigate. In the repaired part the slabs were loaded to (74 %) of measured ultimate load of control slab. The effect of connection method between repaired slabs and ferrocement jacket on the ultimate load, mid span deflection at ultimate load and intensity of cracks was examined. All reinforced concrete slab specimens were designed of the same dimensions and reinforce identically to fail in flexure. All slabs have been tested in simply supported conditions subjected to central concentrated load. The experimental results show that the ultimate loads are increased by about (4.6-19.2%) for the slabs strengthened with ferrocement with respect to the unstrengthened reinforced concrete slab (control slab).
