For the problem of pellet density control in the fish feed extrusion forming process, the influence of extrusion speed, the depth of die hole and the interaction of the two factors on feed pellet density was studied by experiment method. The study results own good application value because as theoretical basis they can be used to determine the extrusion scheme and optimize the granulator structural parameters.

To deal with the problems of high energy consumption and low material utilization in low plastic alloy extrusion, a new forming technology – container rotation extrusion – is proposed, and the die structure is also designed. Compared with the die rotation extrusion, which is only suitable for circular section parts, container rotation extrusion can solve the problem of axial ‘cut off’ caused by odd-shaped section product extrusion. The study results show that, in comparison to conventional extrusion, plastic zone expands obviously during forming process and the forming load decreases by 42.1%. What is more, during container rotation extrusion, ‘dead zone’ is disappeared. Consequently, this technology can form both complex cross-section and low plastic material products to achieve ‘small equipment does large workpiece’.

ABSTRACT Aflatoxin (AF) contamination of groundnut poses a serious health and economic threat to Benin market participants. However, most farmers are unaware of the problem. A study of 182 farmers was conducted in 2002 using a Health Belief Model (HBM) to examine Benin farmers’ health beliefs, perception constructs of awareness, susceptibility, seriousness of the problem, barriers, and benefits derived from reducing AF levels. Exploratory Factor Analysis was employed to evaluate the HBM model constructs. The average age of farmers was 40.4 years with a Standard Deviation (SD) of 10.8, and farmers had an average of 18.32 years of farming experience. Approximately 93% of farmers stated that sorting of groundnuts was important or very important, while 77% thought that they were sure or definitely sure of the negative effects of AF on human health. The exploratory factor analysis revealed that two factors embodied the susceptibility, barrier and benefit constructs. The study results indicated that the reduction of AF in groundnuts was multidimensional and required policy intervention to increase awareness of the health risks, and to manipulate the factors that influenced the constructs at the farm and policy level.

Low yield is crucial bottleneck for potato production in Bangladesh. The application of vermicompost may enhance the yield of potato. The experiment was consisted of two factors, i.e., Factor A: - Vermicompost level (Vm1-4): Vm1: 0 t ha-1, Vm2: 3 t ha-1, Vm3: 6 t ha-1 and Vm4: 9 t ha-1; Factor B:- Tuber size (T1-5): T1: 5-10 g, T2: 10-20 g, T3: 20-30 g, T4: 30-40 g and T5: > 40 g. The experiment was conducted in a split-plot design with three replications. Vermicompost had significant effect on most of the yield contributing parameters investigated under present study. Results revealed that yield parameters increased with increasing vermicompost level irrespective of tuber size. Among the twenty (20) treatment combinations, vermicompost at the rate of 9 t ha-1 with tuber size > 40 g produced the maximum yield (31.33 t ha-1) that was 53.53 % higher than that of control with 3273.01 $ of monetary advantage. Therefore, present study suggests that potato growers may use vermicompost for increasing yield of potato in Bangladesh. SAARC J. Agric., 19(1): 71-79 (2021)

Purpose This paper aims to derive tailor-made microtextures for elastohydrodynamically lubricated (EHL) contacts under consideration of manufacturing possibilities. Design/methodology/approach Component tests were used for the evaluation of the influence of surface texturing on the friction behavior in the cam/tappet contact. Furthermore, the manufacturing possibilities and limitations of a combined μEDM and micro-coining process and the feasibility of integration into a forming process were studied. Finally, a methodology based on transient EHL simulations and a meta-model of optimal prognosis was exemplarily used for microtexture optimization. Findings It was found that surface texturing in EHL contacts with high amount of sliding is promising. Moreover, the combination of μEDM and micro coining and the integration into established production processes allow the manufacturing of microtextures with desirable structural parameters and sufficient accuracy. Originality/value This paper gives a holistic view on surface microtexturing over several phases of the product life cycle, from the design, over efficient manufacturing to application-related testing.

The study aimed to translate the Religious Attitude Scale (RAS; Onay, 2000) into Urdu language and established its construct validity in Pakistani culture. Moreover, the relationship of different demographic variables (i.e., age, income, gender, family system) with religious attitude of parents was also explored. The study comprised of two phases: Phase I of the study constituted translation of the original English version of RAS into Urdu language using forward and back translation method. In phase II, the construct validity of RAS was established through Exploratory Factor Analysis and psychometric properties of RAS were determined. A sample (N = 264) of parents comprising mothers (n = 133) and fathers (n = 131) with age range of 26 to 52 years (M = 34.74, SD = 6.0) participated in the study. Results showed that RAS has two factors namely Positive Religious Attitudes and Negative Religious Attitudes. Psychometric properties of the scale were satisfactory. Findings showed that religious attitudes had positive relationship with age; while, were negatively associated with income. Findings revealed nonsignificant differences across gender of the parents on religious attitudes; whereas, individuals belonging to nuclear families had significantly lower religious attitudes than those from joint family system. Future implications were also discussed.

Thickness thinning is the principal quality problem in the vacuum forming process of the refrigerator inner liner. In this paper, the structural parameters of refrigerator inner liner were analyzed based on orthogonal experiments and numerical simulation. Optimized structural parameters combination scheme and the significance level of structural parameters to thickness were obtained by analyzing the results of orthogonal experiments. Validation experiment results shown that the quality of refrigerator inner liner based on the optimized structural parameters combination scheme improved effectively.

The cardan belong to dial the fork kind parts, its forming is difficult and forming high quality requirements. Establish macro-micro coupling, and a simulation model for the cardan negative extrusion forming process, a numerical simulation considering the deformation and heat conduction, deformation heat production, friction heat production, dynamic recrystallization and so on many factors. Analyze the deformation process detection cardan anti extruded deformation in advance and is extruded deformation. Meanwhile analysis showed that the cardan forgings have internal 59.929% area completely modification, have 4.7944% area did not happen dynamic recrystallization and didn't get forging modification, and forecasts the cardan internal grain size and distribution, the micro analysis for the prediction of forgings performance and design heat treatment process, provides the basis.

In order to expand cross wedge rolling technology applications further and improving the quality of asymmetric shaft parts, this paper predicts the position of center defect location of Cross Wedge Rolling asymmetric shaft parts based on Parity Wedge by Normalized C & L criteria. On this basis, it conducted a systematic study on the effect of forming angle on quality of rolling core part. It has found that, during the forming process of Cross Wedge Rolling shaft parts, rolling center region was more prone to damage, and achieved the regularity of process parameters on the quality of core part. The study results lay the theoretical foundation for preventing defects effectively and improving quality of rolling core part.
