According to the three-wheeled high clearance sprayer on the current market, the traditional empirical design method can hardly be used for effective stress distribution calculation and structural optimization, so it leads to the unreasonable structural design. Based on the overall structure of the sprayer design, a new-type high clearance sprayer designed, It is mainly composed of the engine-powered diaphragm pump power transmission parts, the power steering of scalable universal joint, the rear wheel steering mechanism and other components. Meanwhile, the finite element analysis and structural optimization on the sprayer frame have been finished. Therefore, the results showed that the frame realized the lightweight on the premise of the demand of performance and stiffness, each mechanism’s matching performance of sprayer meets the design requirements, and this approach provides a beneficial investigation into the future sprayer design.

Drill tower is the support structure to ensure normal work for drilling, and the structural characteristic has been played a vital role in the stability of drilling rig. In the paper, the 3-D modeling of the drill tower has been established by the software UG and the finite element analysis of the structure has been finished by software ANSYS that it provides a new design method and thought for the new type of electro-hydraulic controlling core drill tower. According to the analysis result, the practicability for the structure is discussed, and furthermore, this study can provide reliable and efficient technical reference for future design of drill tower products.

According to the situation that the dual-friction drums on the new type towing machine lack stress analysis when designed, the safety is difficult to test and verify. The pull of wire rope in various positions was derived and calculated, so both compressive stress and tangent friction force generated by the pull of wire rope were calculated. The result made by ANSYS software demonstrates the safety of the left drum which suffers from larger loads, structure improvement measures are put forward for the drum.

The use of finite element theory and modal analysis theory, the structure of the machine static and dynamic performance analysis and prediction using optimal design method for optimization, the new machine to improve job performance, improve processing accuracy, shorten the development cycle and enhance the competitiveness of products is very important. Selected for three-dimensional CAD modeling software-UG NX4.0 and finite element analysis software-ANSYS to set up the structure of the beam finite element model, and then post on the overall structure of the static and dynamic characteristic analysis, on the basis of optimized static and dynamic performance is more superior double wall structure of the beam. And by changing the wall thickness and the thickness of the inner wall, as well as the reinforcement plate thickness overall sensitivity analysis shows that changes in these three parameters on the dynamic characteristics of post impact. Application of topology optimization methods, determine the optimal structure of the beam ultimately.

MFPSE, Micro Free Piston Swing Engine, is a new type of miniature internal combustion engine based on the working principle of two-stroke swing engine. The successful development and operation of this type of miniature internal combustion engine provide important significance for the miniaturization of the internal combustion engine, and provide a number of important research theory, computation method and experimental data. In this article, according to the work characteristics and co-ordination requirements of MFPSE (Micro Free Piston Swing Engine), whose strain interference is analyzed using finite element analysis software, the problems and interference of the center pendulum and cylinder is found evidently. The data of analysis provides theory basis for the MFPSE’s structural optimization, and is critical to improve the performance of MFPSE.

By setting contact sets, achieved overall analysis results of the mechanical properties with omni-direction side-loading forklift truck lifting system based on COSMOSWorks. And made an experimental measurements to omni-direction side-loading forklift truck lifting system by electrometric methods. There was a good relevance between experimental data and calculation values, and the deviation was basically within the 10 percent allowed. Finally, in this way it verified the correctness and reliability of the finite element analysis by experimental measurements. Ensured the omni-direction side-loading forklift truck lifting system could be safe and efficient to work. And also it laid a foundation for subsequent structural optimization.

Abstract In this paper, the finite element analysis of circular wedge connections is described, and conclusions for the performance of the connection are derived. In the foreground of the examinations are stresses and deformations while tightening of the connection. Starting with the general structural performance, the influences on power transmission like slope, number of wedges, coefficient of sliding friction and outer hub diameter are discussed. An analytic function to describe the gap pressure within the tightened joint is introduced and rates to explain the problem of centering of circular wedge connections are shown. Finally two concepts for dimensioning are presented and recommendations for application of this connection are given.

Stress concentration is one of the main mechanical problems leading to the failure of clinical application for osteointegrated implant of percutaneous osteointegrated prosthesis, which is especially marked for higher amputated leg prosthesis. Traditionally design was composed of only the distal part. To improve the biomechanical safety, a new design with the lag part similar to the lag screw was introduced. Based on CT scan data, relatively accurate model of femur for finite element analysis (FEA) were obtained. The FEA results with the new implant demonstrated that compared to traditional design, the declination of bone stress peak ranged from 15.68% to 28.67%, perpendicular deformation from 34.73% to 72.16%, and maximal stress of implant from 14.51% to 23.36% with the increasing of loads from 3750N to 2000N. So the new design of osteointegrated implant would be more secure mechanically, in the case of higher amputated leg attachment.

AbstractAs a new type of motor, the traveling wave type rotary ultrasonic motors (TRUM) have a wide range of applications. However, the friction between stator and rotor leads to its poor start reliability, which retards the progress of application of ultrasonic motors. Sometimes TRUMs which are widely used cannot start after storage. Height of tooth of the ultrasonic motor’s stator is one of the factors affecting TRUM’s start stabilizing. In this paper, combined with the ultrasonic motor running mechanism, the factors that affect TRUM’s start reliability are studied. Model of ultrasonic motor stator tooth height is analyzed by finite element analysis (FEA). Five TRUMs with different tooth heights are fabricated and measured. A TRUM with 1.85 mm tooth height can start properly in humidity 90%, but ultrasonic motors with 1.8–1.9 mm tooth height cannot start properly under the same conditions.
