In order to stand out from the competition, the quality of a product as subjectively perceived by the customer is becoming increasingly important. If one wants to meet the comprehensive customer requirements, it is no longer sufficient today to develop a product that focuses only on the functional aspects, but it must also fulfil the sensory requirements at the same time. In this paper, a systematic approach is described that first describes the objectification of customer language for describing the textile haptics of automotive interior materials (11 headliners and 15 seat materials). For this purpose, ten textile-specific descriptors were developed in an expert panel. The descriptors used and the measurement of the human-haptic system are summarized in 4 main groups: 1. warmth/cold sensation, 2. friction properties, 3. deformation, 4. surface/topography. Furthermore, the human-tactile parameters (pressure, speed) that humans exert when touching textile surfaces were determined. The human-sensory product evaluation of the textiles was carried out with 116 test persons. Comparative statistical analyses of the technical parameters (e.g. roughness, friction coefficient, wetting index, deformation) and the human characteristics made it possible to create a prognosis model for determining the quality perception of textile car interior materials.

The purpose of the article is to study the history of creation and the ideological content of the mosaic by Mykola Andriyovych Storozhenko (1928–2015) "Lviv Stavropegic Brotherhood of the 16th – 18th centuries." in the interiors of N.N. Bogolyubov ITF of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Feofaniya (1969) in the context of the heritage of Ukrainian and world monumental art. Methodology.The study uses historical and cultural, comparative, iconographic and iconological methods. We rely on the hermeneutics of Hans-Georg Gadamer and the theory of "big time" by M.M. Bakhtin, which allows us to consider the mosaics of M.A. Storozhenko in the context of the heritage of world art. Main results. In the mosaic "Lexicon”, the greatness of the word is affirmed by means of monumental art. Storozhenko restores its sacred meaning, forgotten in the days of atheism. The master showed the importance of the printed word for the formation of Ukrainian culture. The ideological content of the monumental composition “Stauropegia. Lexicon": the educational value of words and art. Combining the interiors of the printing house and art workshop with the architectural space of the city, the master creates the image of Lviv as a cultural and educational center of Orthodoxy in Western Ukraine. The use of comparative analysis showed that M. Storozhenko synthesizes the artistic heritage of the ancient world (Tripoli, Egypt), Kievan Rus (monumental art and miniature), Renaissance, Rococo, Cubism, abstractionism and others. Polystylism, characteristic of art of the XX–XXI centures, became the basis for the formation of the individual artistic style of one of the leading artists of our time. Scientific novelty. The cultural-historical and artistic meaning of the monumental mosaic of M.A. Storozhenko has been studied in connection with the problems of national self-identification and polystylism of art of the twentieth century. Practical significance. The results of the study are necessary for the creation of a modern history of monumental and decorative art of Ukraine.

This paper aims to substantiate the hypothesis that the design of the architectural and decorative organization of iconostases of the second half of the seventeenth — first half of the eighteenth centuries is based on the symbolic concept of the iconostasis as an image of a paradise garden. Methodology. The author uses semiotico-hermeneutical and iconological approaches as a methodological basis of this study. The iconological methodology allows to study the architectural and decorative organization of the iconostasis from new meaningful positions. The semiotico-hermeneutical approach was applied to interpret the culturally predetermined forms of the Ukrainian iconostasis and its basic symbolic foundations. Results. The author examines the reasons for the transformation of architectural and decorative design of iconostases of the second half of the 17th — the first half of the 18th century in an icon of the mountain. The paper shows that such changes occur in the iconostasis as a realization of the concept of the iconostasis as an icon of the Garden of Eden represented as a garden on a mountain in Christian exegesis. Novelty. The article proposes a hypothesis explaining the symbolic basis of composition and decoration of iconostases of the time. It proposes to link the changes in the iconostasis architecture with the theological concepts actual of Ukrainian society of the 17th-18th centuries. The practical significance. The information provided may be used for researching further the semantics of iconostasis and developing the new courses of lectures and seminars in history of Ukrainian art and culture.

AbstractThis study adopted a Kansei engineering methodology to examine users’ Kansei values toward automotive interior designs by conducting experiments under two models: sensory experience and perceived value evaluation models. In the sensory experience model, 60 participants were recruited to experience using 27 vehicle samples and to assign scores to eight Kansei keywords. Hayashi's quantification theory type 1 was used to calculate the weight of 12 interior space items and 40 interior design categories. In the perceived value evaluation model, 60 participants completed a questionnaire on the influence levels of the Kansei keywords on their Kansei values from the perspectives of four consumer perceived value dimensions. The questionnaire scores were then evaluated using factor analysis to extract nine primary factors affecting participants’ perceptions. This study determined that the interesting and dynamic perceptions corresponded to five design items under the Excitement Quality factors, vigorous and recreational perceptions corresponded to four items under the Relaxation and Comfort factor, and technological and luxurious perceptions corresponded to six items under the Luxury and Splendor factor and the Esteemed Image factor. These findings can help designers and researchers in the relevant sectors create automotive interior designs that fulfill the expectations of users.

Purpose. Investigate the national component and stylistic features of satirical graphics of P. Kovzhun and E. Kozak in popular Lviv humorous magazines of the interwar period. Methodology. The applied art analysis makes it possible to investigate, identify, compare and describe the features of satirical graphics and artistic design of Lviv humorous publications of the interwar period. Comparative and historical methods help to trace the work of leading artists in Lviv satirical periodicals of 20–30s years of XX century. Results.Stylistic features of satirical graphics by P. Kovzhun and E. Kozak in Lviv humorous magazines of 20–30s years of the XX century are determined. It is noted that the artistic style of these artists was influenced by Western European art trends, such as: modernism, expressionism, cubism, futurism. In their graphics, cartoonists use similar tools to achieve a greater effect – grotesque, allegory, zoomorphism. It is traced that each of these artists had his own individual style of satirical illustration, which was supported by national motives. The article draws parallels between German and Lviv satirical magazine graphics on the example of the magazine "Simplicissimus". It was found out that P. Kovzhun and E. Kozak, as leading artists of humorous publications, in addition to highly artistic illustrations, made high-quality graphic design for the magazines «Maski», «Zyz», «Komar». The artistic design of the covers and technical features of these publications are analyzed. Most satirical magazines had a symmetrical hierarchical composition of the title page with a limited polychrome palette. The logo-name on the cover of the magazine was harmoniously perceived together with the title illustration. The cover was made in color, usually in two colors, magazine covers were monochrome. The semantic load of visual satirical material in humorous editions of the interwar period is established. Scientific novelty. The satirical graphics with an emphasis on the national component of the leading illustrators P. Kovzhun and E. Kozak in Lviv humorous magazines of 20–30s years of the XX century is investigated and compared.
