Today, all the companies around the world are looking for the best methods and ways to store and ensure the protection of their business information. Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry has huge and quite important daily operation data to store and backup yearly. As we know the storage capabilities increases, this is clear evidence that we are handling more information every day, for this reason is critical that our process to archiving and searching the information needs to be improve it. In this paper that demonstrates the effectiveness of the database script optimization & Lean strategy. Simple changes big impact, waste elimination, improves manufacturing execution and cycle time.

A joint center has been established by the University of Pittsburgh and the Excerpta Medica Foundation. The basic objective of the Center is to seek ways in which the health sciences community may achieve increasingly convenient and economical access to scientific findings. The research center will make use of facilities and resources of both participating institutions. Cooperating from the University of Pittsburgh will be the School of Medicine, the Computation and Data Processing Center, and the Knowledge Availability Systems (KAS) Center. The KAS Center is an interdisciplinary organization engaging in research, operations, and teaching in the information sciences.Excerpta Medica Foundation, which is the largest international medical abstracting service in the world, with offices in Amsterdam, New York, London, Milan, Tokyo and Buenos Aires, will draw on its permanent medical staff of 54 specialists in charge of the 35 abstracting journals and other reference works prepared and published by the Foundation, the 700 eminent clinicians and researchers represented on its International Editorial Boards, and the 6,000 physicians who participate in its abstracting programs throughout the world. Excerpta Medica will also make available to the Center its long experience in the field, as well as its extensive resources of medical information accumulated during the Foundation’s twenty years of existence. These consist of over 1,300,000 English-language _abstract of the world’s biomedical literature, indexes to its abstracting journals, and the microfilm library in which complete original texts of all the 3,000 primary biomedical journals, monitored by Excerpta Medica in Amsterdam are stored since 1960.The objectives of the program of the combined Center include: (1) establishing a firm base of user relevance data; (2) developing improved vocabulary control mechanisms; (3) developing means of determining confidence limits of vocabulary control mechanisms in terms of user relevance data; 4. developing and field testing of new or improved media for providing medical literature to users; 5. developing methods for determining the relationship between learning and relevance in medical information storage and retrieval systems’; and (6) exploring automatic methods for retrospective searching of the specialized indexes of Excerpta Medica.The priority projects to be undertaken by the Center are (1) the investigation of the information needs of medical scientists, and (2) the development of a highly detailed Master List of Biomedical Indexing Terms. Excerpta Medica has already been at work on the latter project for several years.

Jamaica, known in the world for her rich deposits of bauxite ore, is a small Caribbean country with an area of 10991 square kilometers and a population of just over two million individuals. This beautifu11and, which was described by Columbus as "The fairest isle that eyes have beheld" has developed a remarkably diversified manufacturing sector starting from a modest industrial base. Jamaica's manufacturing industry enjoyed a respectable growth rate of about 6 percent per annum during the good old days of the euphoric '50s and '60s. However, those bright sunny days ''when to live was bliss" were followed by the chilling winter of much subdued progress. The rise and fall of growth have aroused considerable interest among economists and policy• makers. The book under review probes the causes of this behaviour by analysing key characteristics of Jamaican manufacturing sector and tracing its path of evolution.

<p>The purpose of this paper is to classify the value drivers into broad categories and then identify the major drivers of firm’s value for Indian manufacturing industry and also work out the sectorial sensitivity of value drivers. To achieve the objectives of the study we first derive the value driver’s model next we use panel regression with different model specifications to empirically analyse the major drivers of firm’s value. Our study reveals that sales, net margin, book value, dividend per share, beta and earnings per share are the six major financial drivers of value. All the strategic drivers when included in the model have significant relation with value without disturbing the r-square of the model. Thus, it is clear that apart from generic financial drivers, firms need to put more attention on strategic choices they make, because it is the strategic choice that will give firms an edge over others in developing economies like India. Further, we also observe sector specific priorities of the value drivers. This paper provides academicians and practitioners with an overview of the applicability of value drivers for Indian manufacturing industry. Further, the study will fill the gap in literature by adding value drivers’ evidence from one of the fastest growing economies in the world and will benefit researchers in arriving at common consensus for value drivers in emerging economies. </p>

Purpose This paper aims to explore whether India’s export basket in the bilateral intra-industry trade (IIT) with two of its top trading partners characterize robust export earnings or not. This is pertinent for two reasons. First, India has a persistent problem of current account deficit for over decades now. Second, whether India’s export diversification strategy by participating in global value chains to improve export share in the world market led to the problem of the fallacy of composition. Design/methodology/approach This study considers bilateral trade data between India-USA and India-China at the HS-6 digit level over the period 1990–2018. The magnitude of total IIT is computed using the Grubel and Lloyd (1971) index. This paper then uses the unit value dispersion criterion to disentangle the magnitude of total IIT into horizontal and vertical IIT. Through a stepwise econometric exercise, this paper explores the attributes of exported goods in the IIT basket in terms of the directions of ToT, export share and export-price elasticity. Findings Across the two country pairs, the major contributors to the upsurge in IIT are five manufacturing industry groups of chemical, plastics and rubber, textiles, base metals and machinery and mechanical appliances. Across the industry groups, the dominant form of IIT has been low vertical IIT. Most of the industry groups do not characterize robust export earnings as the commodity groups have an elastic demand and an increasing trend of Terms of Trade (ToT). The exceptions are the industry groups of chemicals and textiles in India-China and India-USA, respectively. Research limitations/implications The concern of slim export earnings in most industry groups offers scepticism in maintaining the sustainability of the current account. The problem of the fallacy of composition also cannot be ruled out given the dominance of low vertical IIT. This study argues that these industry groups need to engage in labour market reforms and require access to easy credit to achieve competitiveness in the world market. Originality/value The analysis performed in this paper attempts to integrate the Prebisch-Singer hypothesis in the context of IIT. Empirical evidence to such an issue is not profound.

This article looks at the access to geographic information through a review of information science theory and its application to the WWW. The two most common retrieval systems are information and data retrieval. A retrieval system has seven elements: retrieval models, indexing, match and retrieval, relevance, order, query languages and query specification. The goal of information retrieval is to match the user's needs to the information that is in the system. Retrieval of geographic information is a combination of both information and data retrieval. Aids to effective retrieval of geographic information are: query languages that employ icons and natural language, automatic indexing of geographic information, and standardization of geographic information. One area that has seen an explosion of geographic information retrieval systems (GIR's) is the World Wide Web (WWW). The final section of this article discusses how seven WWW GIR's solve the the problem of matching the user's information needs to the information in the system.

The world in one hand, now is no longer just an advertising tagline. It really has become a reality, when the gadget in our hands is able to present all the information needs of the entire world. Not just information, various entertainment can also be found in gadgets. From movies, music, drama series, talk shows, comedy, and various shows owned by influencers or YouTubers that are entertainment. And special, the audience in gadgets only watch the shows they like. There's no way they would waste their quota to watch a program they don't like. The question is, did television audiences still have an audience in such an era? As we all know, television viewers cannot just watch what they like, because in the program they are watching, it is likely that other programs that they dislike (such as advertisements) are tucked away. This paper tries to reveal, is it true that online media can replace conventional media? Or is it true that conventional media has been abandoned by the audience? The results of this study revealed that not all viewers left conventional media. Similarly, not all programs can be enjoyed online. Keywords: Conventional Media; Online Media; The audience.
