In order to accurately describe the equipment’ severity caused by voltage sag, the credibility measure which meets the conditions of non-additive is proposed based on their physical properties of responses. This assessment measure can avoid the deficiencies that classical probability measure needs a large number of samples and the non-duality of fuzzy measure. The membership functions of sensitive equipment voltage tolerance capability that corresponding to the characteristic quantities in the status uncertain area was determined by fuzzy statistical method and polynomial fitting method. Then the joint credibility distribution function was deduced based on uncertainty theory. Hence, the assessment model of severity of equipment failure is constructed. Based on practical samples, the PCs were simulated using the proposed method. Comparing the simulation results with methods using classical probability measure and possibility measure prove that the proposed method is proper and credible and can reflect practical condition more objectively.

Fuzzy clustering is a widely used approach for data classification by using the fuzzy set theory. The probability measure and the possibility measure are two popular measures which have been used in the fuzzy [Formula: see text]-means algorithm (FCM) and the possibilistic clustering algorithms (PCAs), respectively. However, the numerical experiments revealed that FCM and its derivatives lack the intuitive concept of degree of belongingness, and PCAs suffer from the “coincident problem” and cannot provide very stable results for some data sets. In this study, we propose a new clustering algorithm, called the credibilistic clustering algorithm (CCA), based on the credibility measure. The credibility measure provides some unique properties which can solve the “coincident problem” and noise issue compared with the probability measure and possibility measure. Based on some randomly generated data sets, experimental results compared with FCM and PCA show that CCA can deal with the “coincident problem” with good clustering results, and it is more robust to noise than PCA.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present a new approach for assessing the status of alignment between organizations and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems—more friendly and quantitatively. Design/methodology/approach An issue-based ERP assessment model is invented based on thorough literature review and empirical data from three Japanese companies. A modified Cartesian coordinate system is adopted to link the alignment criteria and the system maintenance activities. Findings The findings prove the feasibility of the model and reveal the variation of ERP alignment in a visualized way. It is also indicated that the utilization of the issue-based ERP assessment model is a more convenient method to help the organizations to pinpoint the status of the ERP alignment. Originality/value This is the first approach to measuring the business–information technology alignment visually. One major implication of this research is to provide an easy assessment method which may encourage organizations to do evaluations regularly. The information accumulated by regular assessment can further pinpoint the perfect time to make decisions and provide essential evidence for decision makings, such as when to expand or retire the current system. From the academic perspective, this model provides a new approach to evaluating the assimilation of organizations and ERP systems.

Many businesses that work with a large number of product lines face the problem of choosing a supplier of goods or services. The problem of finding suppliers is faced by most businesses that do business and are looking for new ways to optimize costs. Enterprises need to periodically search for suppliers, and this is much more difficult for them due to lack of experience, especially in relations with foreign suppliers. Procurement planning is carried out by selecting suppliers who must meet previously established criteria set by the company’s standards and legislation. The search and analysis of suppliers should be carried out systematically using all possible sources of information. At the present stage, conservative methods of searching, analyzing and selecting suppliers are being improved and supplemented with new forms and methods, but none of the existing methods of selecting a supplier properly takes into account the current operating conditions. Therefore, supply chain management is particularly relevant and requires improvement. The article suggests a model that allows identifying potentially unscrupulous suppliers even before the contract is executed in the supply chain and using management. The article presents a block diagram of the supply chain risk management model. The model specifies a key condition aimed at combining the work of all departments in order to increase the transparency of procedures. At the same time, the model will reduce the risks of the supply chain and improve the process of making logistics decisions within 3 main blocks. Information about the entire lifecycle of equipment, media, and items is stored in the supply chain information system, reflecting the status and attributes of all aspects and providing a variety of data support for decision - making

The durability of lightweight cellular concrete (LCC) and the corresponding assessment method are studied in this paper to improve the utilization of LCC in subgrade construction engineering. The durability assessment method is established by combining the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE). The main assessment processes are as follows. Firstly, based on the physical and mechanical properties of LCC, the influencing factors are selected in terms of preliminary design, construction technology, and operation and management after completion of construction. The grading standard of influencing factors is established as well. Secondly, a multilevel assessment model with targets level, criteria level, and indexes level is established. AHP determines the effective weight of the lower level relative to the upper level. The consistency check of the judgment matrix is conducted to prove the rationality of the distribution of influencing factors’ effect weight. Thirdly, the membership function which is suitable for each influencing factor is built to calculate the membership degree. Besides, the practicality and reliability of AHP combined with FCE are demonstrated through a practical engineering case, which is the third section of a highway in Guangdong Province, China.

ObjectivesEffective researcher assessment is key to decisions about funding allocations, promotion and tenure. We aimed to identify what is known about methods for assessing researcher achievements, leading to a new composite assessment model.DesignWe systematically reviewed the literature via the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols framework.Data sourcesAll Web of Science databases (including Core Collection, MEDLINE and BIOSIS Citation Index) to the end of 2017.Eligibility criteria(1) English language, (2) published in the last 10 years (2007–2017), (3) full text was available and (4) the article discussed an approach to the assessment of an individual researcher’s achievements.Data extraction and synthesisArticles were allocated among four pairs of reviewers for screening, with each pair randomly assigned 5% of their allocation to review concurrently against inclusion criteria. Inter-rater reliability was assessed using Cohen’s Kappa (ĸ). The ĸ statistic showed agreement ranging from moderate to almost perfect (0.4848–0.9039). Following screening, selected articles underwent full-text review and bias was assessed.ResultsFour hundred and seventy-eight articles were included in the final review. Established approaches developed prior to our inclusion period (eg, citations and outputs, h-index and journal impact factor) remained dominant in the literature and in practice. New bibliometric methods and models emerged in the last 10 years including: measures based on PageRank algorithms or ‘altmetric’ data, methods to apply peer judgement and techniques to assign values to publication quantity and quality. Each assessment method tended to prioritise certain aspects of achievement over others.ConclusionsAll metrics and models focus on an element or elements at the expense of others. A new composite design, the Comprehensive Researcher Achievement Model (CRAM), is presented, which supersedes past anachronistic models. The CRAM is modifiable to a range of applications.

Purpose Healthcare providers differ in their readiness and maturity levels regarding quality and quality management systems applications. The proposed model serves as a useful quantitative quality maturity level assessment tool for healthcare organizations. Design/methodology/approach The model proposes five quality maturity levels (chaotic, primitive, structured, mature and proficient) based on six quality drivers: top management, people, operations, culture, quality focus and accreditation. Findings Healthcare managers can apply the model to identify the status quo, quality shortcomings and evaluating ongoing progress. Practical implications The model has been incorporated in an interactive Excel worksheet that visually displays the quality maturity level risk meter. The tool has been applied successfully to local hospitals. Originality/value The proposed six quality driver scales appear to measure healthcare provider maturity levels on a single quality meter.

Abstract In recent years, ammonia leakage accidents occur frequently, which causes a great concern in China. Based on traditional risk analysis methods and the equipment characteristics, a risk evaluation method for small ammonia refrigeration units is proposed. The method includes a risk assessment model based on area division, a failure probability assessment method based on expert scoring system, a failure consequence assessment method based on regional population density and consequence mitigation measures, and a HAZOP risk correction method. Based on the proposed method, a risk assessment system of small ammonia refrigeration units is developed. This risk assessment method and system will provide a scientific basis to carry out the cold storage management in China.

Multiple nations have implemented policies for greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction since the 21st Conference of Parties (COP 21) at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2015. In this convention, participants voluntarily agreed to a new climate regime that aimed to decrease GHG emissions. Subsequently, a reduction in GHG emissions with specific reduction technologies (renewable energy) to decrease energy consumption has become a necessity and not a choice. With the launch of the Korean Emissions Trading Scheme (K-ETS) in 2015, Korea has certified and financed GHG reduction projects to decrease emissions. To help the user make informed decisions for economic and environmental benefits from the use of renewable energy, an assessment model was developed. This study establishes a simple assessment method (SAM), an assessment database (DB) of 1199 GHG reduction technologies implemented in Korea, and a machine learning-based GHG reduction technology assessment model (GRTM). Additionally, we make suggestions on how to evaluate economic benefits, which can be obtained in conjunction with the environmental benefits of GHG reduction technology. Finally, we validate the applicability of the assessment model on a public building in Korea.

The Sasyk Reservoir is one of the largest seaside reservoirs in Ukraine, artificially maintained as a freshwater area including various floodplain areas. The Reservoir originated from an estuary to now being an almost freshwater reservoir. The diatoms (Bacillariophyta) in benthos were investigated for analyzing the coastal zone diversity of the Black Sea inside the borders of Ukraine. The indicated diatom composition was formed by 97 species (100 infraspecies taxa). Some rare marine and freshwater taxa were noted, as well as three species reported in Ukrainian territory for the first time (Navicula vandamii Schoeman et R.E.M. Archibald, Sellaphora difficillima (Hustedt) C.E. Wetzel, L. Ector et D.G. Mann, and Mastogloia laterostrata Hustedt). The bioindicative characteristics of the diatom composition testified to the freshwater condition of the reservoir. Changes to the salinity level of the Sasyk Reservoir were exposed due to the composition of benthic diatoms. The presence of mesohalobous species (7 taxa) acknowledges conditions that are typical for estuaries and mouths of rivers and reveals the salinity changes in the Sasyk Reservoir. Likewise, the prevailing number of oligohalobous diatoms (61 taxa) reveal presence of freshwater in the reservoir. The implementation of the Polish phytobenthos lake assessment method for the nearby Ukrainian Reservoir was conducted for the first time. The multimetric Diatom Index for lake values varied from 0.39 to 0.76, and revealed alterations in the status over the Sasyk sites, ranging from good, moderate, to poor. Thus, it may be concluded that the current ecological status relating to the composition of benthic diatoms of the reservoir located in the coastal zone of the Black Sea is evaluated as having a moderate status class with some exceptions.
