Design and Research on the Clutch Mechanism in Modern Offset Printing Machine

The clutch mechanism is the important part of printing machine. At present, cam connecting rod type mechanical clutch mechanism has been used by most of the domestic offset printing machine and its mechanical structure is very complex and its reliability is very poor. So a new type of pneumatic clutch mechanism is designed to meet its technological requirements. For the new mechanism, the motion law of the blanket cylinder can be calculated in the pressing process by complex number vector method and the finite element model has been established, natural frequency, maximum amplitude and mode of vibration of the cylinder can be calculated based on Block Lanczos method. The analysis results show that the relationship between the cylinders is flexible impact at the pressing instant, positioning is accurate, stable and reliable, which meets flexible design requirements. Thus it is important significance to improve design level and the product quality of the domestic printing machine and shorten the gap with foreign advanced printing machine.

A new type of inline coating system is designed and developed. The coating system can be mounted into printing press instead of blanket cleaner. An anilox roller and a sealed duct on the glazing oil transferring part for supplying and transferring the coating oil are introduced. A set of pressure adjusting mechanism is designed for changing the pressure between anilox roller and blanket cylinder, while a set of on-off impression mechanism is arranged to change the position of anilox roller and the on-off impression state. The press can print as normal when the coating system is dismounted. With this coating system, the press can coat prints with glazing oil. This system can be mounted in various type of printing machine. One new type of glazing technology named reverse coating can be achieved when it is mounted in multicolor press.

Given the advantages and disadvantages of the existing plugging technology, a new type of external sealing device for pressure vessel leakage is proposed, which has the advantages of fast installation speed, small installation resistance, and stronger adaptability to the leakage surface. The connecting rod propulsion mechanism provides power, uses the fluidity of materials in the annular cavity to adapt to the complex curved surface, and carries out real-time monitoring and self-healing of the plugging process. Through the establishment of a finite element model of conventional top pressure plugging and the new type of external sac plugging method, simulation analysis of the leakage point and the pressure distribution around the crack leak has shown that: in the installation process of the new type of external liquid sac plugging device, a pressure-equalizing contact area and a sealing area are formed around the leakage point, and there is no obvious stress concentration phenomenon. When the thickness of the gasket is low, the deformation is uniform, which overcomes the problems of insufficient adaptability of the gasket in the conventional jacking method, and enhances the stability and reliability of emergency plugging.

Roller-mark is a common problem in offset printing and its solution method is important for printing. A new detecting method of texture analysis was given in this paper. In this study, printing image was acquired with high-speed CCD. Compared the difference between printing image and standard image, a defective image was obtained. Then the reason of roller-marks was given by the texture recognition of defect image. Finally, experiments were taken to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of this new method for the roller-marks diagnosis in the offset printing machine.

Balancing stiffness and weight is of substantial importance for antenna structure design. Conventional fold-rib antennas need sufficient weight to meet stiffness requirements. To address this issue, this paper proposes a new type of cable-rib tension deployable antenna that consists of six radial rib deployment mechanisms, numerous tensioned cables, and a mesh reflective surface. The primary innovation of this study is the application of numerous tensioned cables instead of metal materials to enhance the stiffness of the entire antenna while ensuring relatively less weight. Dynamic characteristics were analyzed to optimize the weight and stiffness of the antenna with the finite element model by subspace method. The first six orders of natural frequencies and corresponding vibration modes of the antenna structure are obtained. In addition, the effects of structural parameters on natural frequency are studied, and a method to improve the rigidity of the deployable antenna structure is proposed.

Readers of this Journal will recall the provocative article in Vol. 2, No. 2 by John Smail entitled An Autonomous History of South-East Asia. This article has aroused considerable comment. It is all-the-more unfortunate then that it was marred by fifty or more misprints and omissions. With this issue of the Journal we have changed to a new type and printing machine, and we hope such errors as committed before will remain merely the follies of our youth. We attach a list of the more important of the misprints in Mr. Smail's article.

Conical picks are the key cutting components used on roadheaders, and they are replaced frequently because of the bad working conditions. Picks did not meet the fatigue life when they were damaged by abrasion, so the pick fatigue life and strength are excessive. In the paper, in order to reduce the abrasion and save the materials, structure optimization was carried out. For static analysis and fatigue life prediction, the simulation program was proposed based on mathematical models to obtain the cutting resistance. Furthermore, the finite element models for static analysis and fatigue life analysis were proposed. The results indicated that fatigue life damage and strength failure of the cutting pick would never happen. Subsequently, the initial optimization model and the finite element model of picks were developed. According to the optimized results, a new type of pick was developed based on the working and installing conditions of the traditional pick. Finally, the previous analysis methods used for traditional methods were carried out again for the new type picks. The results show that new type of pick can satisfy the strength and fatigue life requirements.

To overcome the shortcomings of traditional rigid road wheel, such as poor damping effect and low load-bearing efficiency, a new type of flexible road wheel, having a unique suspension-bearing mode, was introduced. The three-dimensional nonlinear finite element model of rigid and flexible road wheel, considering the triple nonlinear characteristics of geometry, material and contact, is established for numerical investigation of static loading performance. The accuracy of the finite element model of the rigid and flexible road wheel is verified by static loading experiment. The static loading performance of the rigid and flexible road wheels is numerically analyzed. The influence of vertical load on maximum stress and deformation of the rigid and flexible wheels is also studied. The results show that the contact pressure uniformity of the flexible road wheel is better than that of the rigid road wheel under the static vertical load, but the maximum stress and deformation of the flexible road wheel are greater than that of the rigid road wheel. However, this problem can be solved by increasing the number of hinge sets and optimising the joints. The research results provide theoretical basis for replacing rigid road wheel with flexible road wheel, and also provide reference for structural optimisation of flexible road wheel.

Purpose Currently, rehabilitation medical care is expensive, requires a large number of rehabilitation therapist and which can only limit in the fixed location. In addition, there is a lack of research on the structure optimization and theoretical analysis of soft actuators for hand rehabilitation. In view of the problems above, this paper aims to propose a cheap, portable, wearable soft multiple joints rehabilitation glove. Design/methodology/approach First, this paper determined the hyperelastic constitutive model by material tensile test. Second, the soft actuator’s internal longitudinal section shape was optimized through the comparison of three diverse chamber structures. Meanwhile, the motion model of the soft actuator is established by the finite element model analysis method. Then, this paper established the constitutive model of the soft actuator according to the torque equilibrium equation and analyzed the relationship between the soft actuator’s bending angle and the input air pressure. This paper has verified that the theoretical model is correct through the soft actuator bending test. Finally, rehabilitation gloves were manufactured according to the model and the rehabilitation performance and grasping ability of gloves were verified through experiments. Findings The optimization results show that the internal semicircular cavity has better performance. Then, the actuator performance is better after adding the external arc structure and optimizing the physical dimension. The experimental results show that the trajectory of the actuator conforms to the mathematical model and rehabilitation gloves can meet the needs of rehabilitation treatment. Practical implications Rehabilitation gloves made of actuators can help patients with hand dysfunction in daily rehabilitation training. Then, it can also assist patients with some fine and complicated hand movements. Originality/value This paper proposes a new type of soft rehabilitation glove, which is composed of new soft actuators and adapting pieces. The new actuator is small enough to be fitted to the knuckle of the glove to move each joint of the finger.

In this paper, finite element model of SiCp /Al single cell body and single diamond particles were established by cross-scale modeling method. The results shows that the extent of damage of SiC particles increased with the increase of amplitude and frequency; The integrity of SiC particles are still better under the ultrasonic frequency 20000 Hz and the maximum amplitude 5um,so the optimal frequency range of ultrasonic scratch is (20000-30000)Hz. As for 22000 Hz, the integrity of SiC particles was better under the amplitude 4um,while the SiC particles have a significant damage in the border area under the amplitude 5um,so the best frequency and amplitude for ultrasonic scratches are: 22000 Hz and 4 um.

Frame has important effects on the performance of the whole of heavy semi-trailer. A heavy semi-trailer frame is analyzed and researched on in the finite-element way in this article. The frame of 3D geometric model is established by using Pro/E. And it was imported into the Hypermesh to establish frame finite element model. Frame are calculated by using ANSYS solver in bending condition, emergency braking conditions and rapid turn conditions of stress and deformation conditions. The computational tools and methods we used provide the new type of frame and development with a reference method to refer to in this paper.
