Under high and super high speed, the oil film of a journal bearing is easy to crack and then becomes cavitation. The existence of cavitation has a great effect on the work performance of the bearing. The cavitation mechanism of a spiral oil wedge journal bearing was investigated on the experimental rig. The effects of rotating speed and supply pressure on the cavitation shape of oil film and the number of cavitation strip in the rupture zone were analyzed. The results show that the cavitation shape of oil film is a long strip. The number of cavitation strip increases when supply pressure has been improved, and the location of oil outlet must be designed optimally.

The real-time seed-metering device performance detection is one of key techniques to ensure operation quality of a planter. A crossed E-shape plate capacitance sensor, a parallel-plate capacitance sensor and a differential tri-plate capacitance sensor, are proposed to test corn-seed flow. The detection concept and sensor structure parameters are presented. An adjustable stand is designed to investigate the impact of sensor structure and seed velocity on the outputs of capacitance sensors. The sensitivity and the feasibility of 3 sensors are studied by detecting capacitance variations at different corn-seed speeds. Experimental results show that, with average capacitance variation 0.1245pF and 0.1115 pF, respectively, the crossed E-shape plate sensor and the differential tri-plate sensor are suitable to measure corn-seed metering device performance.

Research on resilience in the workplace is currently limited by at least two issues: an inconsistent documentation and choice of the stress-producing events and a singular construct of what constitutes resilience (Britt, Shen, Sinclair, Grossman, & Klieger, 2016). This commentary summarizes some recent experimental research that was possibly too new to have been included in the review and that offers some insights to both concerns. The research is predicated on a theoretical model that explains the role of resilience in either work-related or clinical outcomes and the temporal dynamics of work performance.

This article presents methods and results of experimental research to determine the power consumed when driving the working bodies of the straw bedding mobile spreader to cover cow stalls (boxes). Analysis of the design and mode parameters of the rotary finger working body influence on the energy consumption of the bedding material spreading process is carried out. Using the experimental data, it was established that the power consumed to drive the rotary finger working body of the mobile straw bedding spreader, at the tractor power take-off (PTO) shaft rotation speed of 540 min−1, the forward unit speed of 2 km/h, and performance of 1.5 kg/s, is equal to 7.633 kW. In this case, due to the installation of a rotary finger working body for spreading straw bedding, the power consumption increased by 9%. This increase will not have a significant impact on the overall energy consumption of the spreading bedding material working process, because this class tractor power reserve allows its use.

According to the agronomic requirements of garlic sowing, the garlic morphology is studied and a garlic seed metering mechanism with excellent seeding performance is designed. Based on this design, a new garlic seeding machine with an adjustable-size seeding device is developed to realize efficient single-seed metering and seeding of different varieties of garlic. Further, the design scheme of the garlic seeder prototype is established, with the key components of the garlic seeding being designed on the basis of the garlic seeding mechanism. To achieve garlic single-seed metering for different varieties of garlic, the optimal adjustment size of the garlic seed metering device is determined through discrete element simulation analysis. A field experiment confirms the effectiveness of applying the proposed garlic planter to field sowing in terms of the metrics of missing seed and multiple seed rates. The results of the discrete element simulation test reveal that an adjustment size of 40 mm yields the best single-seed metering performance. At an operating speed of 15–35 rpm, the metering device can achieve more than an 80% qualification rate of single-seed metering, with a unit speed of 0.628–1.465 m/s. Thus, the developed garlic seeding device meets the requirements of precision sowing in China and can effectively realize the mechanized planting of garlic.

Integrity is very important for a leader. When a leader does not have integrity, then, sooner or later it will destroy the group or organization s/he leads. This occurs because the policies, decisions, attitudes, and actions made by the leader will have wide impact to the organization. A leader will be the center of attention of the members, and whatever they see in her/him will have a huge impact on the organization as a whole. Integrity has been given a lot of meaning; and everything is interconnected, which essentially refers to one's personal qualities, which make a person trustworthy and reliable. In the world of work, integrity appears in the form of good work performance or results. To be able to produce a good performance it is necessary to have competence. With integrity possessed the competence can be directed to produce a good performance. The problem that occurs is a lack of understanding of the relationship between integrity and performance. Generally, they are both understood separately, as stand-alone. But in reality the integrity is manifested through good performance. This applies also to a leader, which results a good performance in implementing ethical leadership. The purpose of this paper is to outline the relationship between integrity and performance, in which competence plays an important role. Integrity is the foundation for leadership, which makes it able to run and produce ethical leadership performance.

Purpose. The operation of electromechanical systems (EMS) in off-design modes and in which centrifugal pumps are used is accompanied by a number of negative factors, a special place among which is occupied by excessive blade vibration of the pump, which negatively affects its operational characteristics and causes a reduction in the service life of the main EMS units. Thus, an urgent task is to improve the operating characteristics of the pump as a component of EMS, which, by increasing the energy efficiency of the EMS working process and/or reducing the total cost of the life cycle of the pumps in their composition, will ultimately have a significant economic effect. Methodology. Experimental research of working process of an electric pump aggregate type D according to DSTU 6134:2009 and ISO 10816-3:2014. Results. Based on the experimental research results of vibration state of the pump D2000-100-2 bearing shell, which operates as part of the EMS, and the intensity of fluid pressure pulsations at its outlet, the limit root mean square value (RMS) of the pressure pulsation amplitude (∆Р ≥ 35,8 kPa and/or 3,4 % Н) is set at which an excess of the established ISO 10816: 3-2014 limit RMS of vibration velocity of the pump bearing shell ( V  2,8 mm/s ) and also is determined correlation coefficient ( / л k V Р ), which characterizes the RMS of the vibration velocity of the pump bearing shell at the blade frequency ( Vл ) depending on the RMS amplitude of the blade pressure pulsations (∆Р). Practical value. Since the number and systematic of experimental researches of the effect of pump parameters on the intensity of its blade vibration is complicated by the high cost of their implementation, therefore, it is advisable in further researches to use the RMS amplitude of blade pressure pulsations as an indirect indicator of the RMS vibration velocity of the pump bearing shell at the blade frequency. Conclusion. The intensity of pressure pulsations and influence of main parameters of the pump on their amplitude, with sufficient accuracy for engineering calculations can be determined by numerical modeling of the unsteady fluid flow in the flowing part of the pump.
