Through numerical simulations, this work analyzes the unsteady pressure pulsation characteristics in new type of dishwasher pump with double tongue volute and single tongue volute, under volute static and rotation conditions. Likewise, the performance tests were also carried out to verify the numerical results. Multiple monitoring points were set at the various positions of new type dishwasher pump to collect the pressure pulsation signals, and the relevant frequency signals were obtained via Fast Fourier Transform, to analyze the influence of volute tongue and its passive speed on the pump performance. The results reveal that when the double tongue volute is stationary, the pressure pulsation amplitudes increase from the impeller inlet to the impeller outlet. Under the influence of shedding vortex, the pressure pulsation in the lateral region of tongue becomes disorganized, and the main frequency of pressure pulsation changes from blade frequency to shaft frequency. In addition, compared with the static volute, double tongue volute can effectively guide the water flow out of the tongue during the rotation process, thus ensuring good periodicity for pressure pulsation in the tongue region. Accordingly, a volute reference scheme with passive rotation speed is proposed in this study, which can effectively improve the pressure pulsation at tongue position, and provides a new idea for rotor-stator interference to guide the innovation of dishwasher.

Based on CFD analysis technology, this paper studies the cavitation performance of an LNG submerged pump and the pressure pulsation characteristics under cavitation excitation. The variation laws of the waveform, amplitude and frequency of the pressure pulsation in the impeller of the LNG submerged pump under different flow rates and NPSHa are also analysed. By calculating the root mean square of the pressure coefficient of the low-frequency pulsation, the influence of the aggravation process of cavitation on the low-frequency pulsation in the LNG submerged pump is quantitatively analysed, and the characteristics of the pressure pulsation in the LNG submerged pump under the cavitation condition are revealed. The results show that with the increase in flow rate, the pressure pulsation in the impeller becomes stronger, periodically, and the amplitude decreases. The influence of cavitation on the pressure pulsation in the primary impeller is greater than that in the secondary impeller. When critical cavitation occurs, the low-frequency signal amplitude of pressure pulsation in the primary impeller increases and exceeds the blade frequency, becoming the main frequency.

The pressure fluctuations of high-speed centrifugal pumps are the hotspot in pump research. Pressure fluctuations is differ for different structural designs and flow structures. High-speed centrifugal pumps are usually designed to increase efficiency with an enlarged flow design at a low specific speed, which changes the structure of the pump. In order to analyze the pressure fluctuations of a high-speed centrifugal pump with an enlarged flow design, the pressure was measured, and the flow field of the pump was simulated with different flow rates. Through analysis, we found that pressure fluctuations varied periodically and was consistent with the blade frequency. The pressure fluctuations at the guide vane and the interference region were also closely related to the vortices at the impeller outlet, which changed differently at different flow rates. The results showed that the high-speed centrifugal pump with an enlarged design had better performance at a large flow rate. The results in this paper can provide reference for the design of a pump that should be designed with the enlarged flow method.

Most of the research on the cavitation with entrained air has focused on the military direction, but it ,about centrifugal pumps, which is relevant to people's livelihood, is still relatively lacking. In order to study the basic law of the development of cavitation inside centrifugal pumps under aeration conditions, a test bench suitable for cavitation experiments with incoming flow containing gas was obtained. Furthermore, a single-stage single-suction 6-blade centrifugal pump was used as the research object to conduct pressure pulsation experiments under cavitation condition when the incoming flow was 1.0% air viod fraction at 2900r/min-50m3/h. The results showed that: After cavitation happened, the greater aeration content will deteriorate the pump's anti-cavitation performance, but the head curve is more gentle in falling down compared to natural cavitation. Hence aeration has a beneficial effect on the performance degradation of the pump under the cavitation condition. At the same time, before the cavitation number drops to the fracture cavitation number of the pump, aeration has improvement in the efficiency of the pump in different degrees , especially in the situation with the ventilated rate of 1.0%. The main frequency of pressure pulsation at the inlet and outlet of the test pump after aeration is dominated by the blade frequency. The shaft frequency signal at the outlet gradually decreases with the cavitation number lessened. Moreover the amplitude of the blade frequency grows slightly with the reduction of the cavitation number. But it tends to soar when the cavitation number is less than the fracture cavitation number.

Abstract The last stage bladed disk of a steam turbine is analyzed with respect to both flutter susceptibility and limitation of forced response. Due to the lack of variable stator vanes unfavorable flow conditions may occur which increases the risk of flutter at part load conditions. For this reason, intentional mistuning is employed with the objective to prevent any self-excited vibrations. A first step in this direction is done by choosing alternate mistuning, which keeps the manufactural efforts in limits. In this sense, two different series of blades have been made. However, small deviations from the design intention are unavoidable due to the manufacturing procedure, which could be proved by bonk tests carried out earlier. The influence of these additional deviations is considered in numerical simulations. Moreover, the strong dependence of blade frequencies on the speed is taken into account since centrifugal stiffening effects significantly attenuate the blade-to-blade frequency difference. Focusing on the first flap mode it could be shown that a mitigation of flutter susceptibility is achieved by prescribing alternate mistuning, which indeed evokes an increase of originally small aerodynamic damping ratios. Nevertheless, the occurrence of negative damping ratios could not be completely precluded at part load conditions. That is why optimization studies are conducted based on genetic algorithms with the objective function of maximizing the lowest aerodynamic damping ratios. Finally, mistuning patterns could be identified featuring a tremendous increase of aerodynamic damping ratios. The robustness of the solutions could be proved by superimposing additional random mistuning.

This paper takes centrifugal fan as the research object and establishes five impeller models with different blade outlet angles. By means of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the external characteristics of the centrifugal fan and the internal characteristics, including the velocity, pressure, and turbulent energy distribution, at the middle span plane of the impeller or fan were obtained and compared. In addition, the pressure fluctuations surrounding the impeller outlet were also analyzed. The results showed that the change of the blade outlet angle of the centrifugal fan had a great influence on the performance; the total pressure and efficiency of the fan were the highest when the outlet angle of the blade was increased to 29.5° under the design flow rate; and the influence of the outlet angle on the fan performance was different in off-design conditions. On the other hand, at different flow rates, the change of the internal flow field with the increase of the outlet angle was different. For the pressure fluctuation of the fan, by increasing the blade outlet angle properly under high flow conditions, the fluctuation amplitude of the fan at the blade frequency and its frequency multiplication could be reduced, which is conducive to decreasing the impeller noise. The research results have good guiding significance regarding the design of the pneumatic performance and noise reduction performance of centrifugal fans.

Purpose. The operation of electromechanical systems (EMS) in off-design modes and in which centrifugal pumps are used is accompanied by a number of negative factors, a special place among which is occupied by excessive blade vibration of the pump, which negatively affects its operational characteristics and causes a reduction in the service life of the main EMS units. Thus, an urgent task is to improve the operating characteristics of the pump as a component of EMS, which, by increasing the energy efficiency of the EMS working process and/or reducing the total cost of the life cycle of the pumps in their composition, will ultimately have a significant economic effect. Methodology. Experimental research of working process of an electric pump aggregate type D according to DSTU 6134:2009 and ISO 10816-3:2014. Results. Based on the experimental research results of vibration state of the pump D2000-100-2 bearing shell, which operates as part of the EMS, and the intensity of fluid pressure pulsations at its outlet, the limit root mean square value (RMS) of the pressure pulsation amplitude (∆Р ≥ 35,8 kPa and/or 3,4 % Н) is set at which an excess of the established ISO 10816: 3-2014 limit RMS of vibration velocity of the pump bearing shell ( V  2,8 mm/s ) and also is determined correlation coefficient ( / л k V Р ), which characterizes the RMS of the vibration velocity of the pump bearing shell at the blade frequency ( Vл ) depending on the RMS amplitude of the blade pressure pulsations (∆Р). Practical value. Since the number and systematic of experimental researches of the effect of pump parameters on the intensity of its blade vibration is complicated by the high cost of their implementation, therefore, it is advisable in further researches to use the RMS amplitude of blade pressure pulsations as an indirect indicator of the RMS vibration velocity of the pump bearing shell at the blade frequency. Conclusion. The intensity of pressure pulsations and influence of main parameters of the pump on their amplitude, with sufficient accuracy for engineering calculations can be determined by numerical modeling of the unsteady fluid flow in the flowing part of the pump. Abstract The last stage bladed disk of a steam turbine is analyzed with respect to both flutter susceptibility and limitation of forced response. Due to the lack of variable stator vanes unfavorable flow conditions may occur which can lead to flow separation in some circumstances. Consequently, there is the risk of flutter in principle, particularly at nominal speed under part load conditions. For this reason, intentional mistuning is employed by the manufacturer with the objective to prevent any self-excited vibrations. A first step in this direction is done by choosing alternate mistuning, which keeps the manufactural efforts in limits since only two different blade designs are allowed. In this sense, two different series of blades have been made. However, it is well known that small deviations from the design intention are unavoidable due to the manufacturing procedure, which could be proved by bonk tests carried out earlier. The influence of these additional but unwanted deviations is considered in numerical simulations. Moreover, the strong dependence of blade frequencies on the speed is taken into account since centrifugal stiffening effects significantly attenuate the blade-to-blade frequency difference in this particular case. Again only two different blade designs are admitted. Finally, mistuning patterns could be identified causing a tremendous increase of aerodynamic damping ratios. The robustness of the solutions found could be proved by superimposing additional random mistuning.

To research the effects of the blade outlet angle on the performance and the radial force of the marine pump, the unsteady numerical simulation of the four different models is carried out. The radial forces on the impeller and the blades are obtained under different flow rate conditions. The time and frequency domain characteristics of radial resultant force on the impeller and the blades are analyzed and those of the impeller torque are researched. The results show that the radial forces of the impeller and the blades increase with the increase of the blade outlet angle at the same flow rate. With the same blade outlet angle, the radial forces decrease with the increase of the flow rate. The roundness of radial force vector diagram becomes more obvious with the decrease of the blade outlet angle. The root mean square (RMS) of radial force on the blades is about 30% of that on the impeller. The main frequency of radial force on the impeller and the blades is the axial passing frequency (APF), and that of impeller torque is the blade passing frequency (BPF), and there are peaks at the blade frequency multiplier. At the same flow rate, the main frequency and maximum fluctuation amplitudes on the impeller and the blades increase with the increase of the blade outlet angle. Meanwhile, the impeller torque increases with the increase of the blade outlet angle. With the same blade outlet angle, the main frequency, maximum fluctuation amplitudes, and the impeller torque decrease with the increase of the flow rate. The amplitude difference decreases with the increase of the flow rate. The blade outlet angle has an obvious greater influence on the radial forces and fluctuation at the small flow rate. The vibration test shows that the vibration intensities of model 25 and model 35 are less than 2.5 mm/s, and the vibration intensity of model 25 is about 0.2 mm/s less than that of model 35.

In order to understand the pressure fluctuation characteristics of a semi-open cutting pump, the three-dimensional unsteady flow fields were calculated. External and internal flow characteristics of four schemes with different relative angles between the rotary cutter and the impeller were studied. The pressure fluctuations in the lower plate, the upper plate, the clearance between the rotary cutter and the fixed cutter, the first section in volute and nearby parts of the tongue were all analyzed, which are all the places that pressure distributions are greatly affected by the static and dynamic interaction, and at the same time, the force on the impeller was also analyzed. The results show that the fluctuations at different positions change periodically; the main frequency is blade frequency. The amplitude of pressure fluctuation decreases from near the rotating part to far away, from near the tongue to far from the tongue. Due to the influence of both impeller and rotary cutter, the pressure fluctuation on the lower plate is the largest. The pressure fluctuation is affected by flow rate, the larger the flow rate, the greater the pressure fluctuation. The radial and axial forces of the impeller change periodically with time, and the number of wave peaks and wave valleys is the same as the number of blades.
