Dust particle which includes corpses and feces of the mite, animal dander, cockroaches, and mould spores can reach the lung of human and then trigger asthma disease easily. In this research, experimental studies were carried out in order to examine particle removal efficiency in a room with two ventilation systems: a ceiling exhaust system and a slit exhaust system. The results indicated that there was no clear relationship between removal efficiency and two different outlet locations. Also, from the results after the decay, the particle count in the case of the ceiling exhaust was higher than that in the case of the slit exhaust.

As pessoas viajam cada vez mais de avião e, muitas vezes, estas viagens são longas. A qualidade do ar dentro desse meio de transporte torna-se então uma questão crucial, principalmente agora que o mundo está passando por uma pandemia causada pela COVID 19. Uma forma de melhorar a qualidade do ar e as condições de conforto térmico dentro de uma cabine de aeronave está na utilização de novos sistemas de ventilação personalizada. No presente trabalho é apresentada análise experimental da influência de um sistema de ventilação personalizada (PV) na concentração e na eficiência de remoção de partículas expiratórias em cabine de aeronave com sistema de ventilação convencional por mistura (MV). Os ensaios foram realizados em um mock-up com 12 lugares, com três fileiras de quatro poltronas. Medições de concentração de partículas foram realizadas na região de respiração, a 1,10m do piso, em todos os assentos da cabine. Os resultados mostram que a eficiência na remoção de partículas na região de respiração, considerando toda a cabine, é de até 25% para partículas de 5 a 10 μm e de até 30% para partículas de 2 a 5μm. Os resultados mostram também que a eficiência na remoção de partículas é praticamente igual para o sistema PV operando tanto no assento da janela quanto no assento do corredor para todos os tamanhos de partículas. Os resultados da eficiência de remoção de partículas mostram que o sistema PV influencia significativamente a remoção de partículas no assento no qual o sistema está operando e na cabine como um todo.Palavras-chave: Sistemas de Ventilação, Qualidade do Ar, Partículas Expiratórias, Análise Experimental, Cabines de AeronavesAbstractPeople travel more and more by plane, and often these trips are long. Air quality within this mode of transport then becomes a crucial issue, especially now that the world is experiencing a pandemic caused by COVID 19. A way to improve air quality and thermal comfort conditions inside a cabin of aircraft is in the use of new personalized ventilation systems. This work presents an experimental analysis of the influence of a personalized ventilation system (PV) on the concentration and efficiency of removal of expiratory particles in an aircraft cabin with a conventional mixing ventilation system (MV). The tests were carried out in a mock-up with 12 seats, three rows with four abreast. Measurements of particle concentration were performed in the breathing region, 1.10 m from the floor, in all seats of the cabin. The results show that the efficiency in removing particles in the breathing region, considering the entire cabin, is up to 25% for particles of 5 to 10 μm and up to 30% for particles of 2 to 5 μm. The results also show that particle removal efficiency is practically the same for the PV system operating on both the window seat and the aisle seat for all particle sizes. The results of particle removal efficiency show that the PV system significantly influences the removal of particles in the seat on which the system is perating and in the cab as a whole.Keyworks: Ventilation systems, Air Quality, Expiratory droplets, Experimental analysis, Aircraft cabins

Постановка задачи. Подаваемый в помещения воздух в жаркое время года должен быть охлажден до комфортных температур. В связи с тем, что дополнительного расхода энергии на это охлаждение не предусмотрено, возможно применить воздухоохладитель испарительного типа. Однако известные в настоящее время результаты экспериментальных и теоретических исследований таких аппаратов не позволяют их проектировать, что препятствует их распространению. Рассмотрено строение такого аппарата и выполнены его теоретические и экспериментальные исследования, результаты которых могут быть использованы для инженерного расчета и конструирования подобных аппаратов. Результаты. Описан сконструированный авторами воздухоохладитель испарительного типа для систем вентиляции. Проведено теоретическое и экспериментальное исследование воздухоохладителя. Получены аналитические соотношения для определения времени движения насадки в «мокрой» камере аппарата, температуры охлажденного воздуха и температуры насадки в любом сечении контура циркуляции. Получены эмпирические соотношения для коэффициента эффективности охладителя и его гидравлического сопротивления. Выводы. Полученные зависимости послужат основой для разработки методики проектного расчета воздухоохладителей косвенно-испарительного типа с перемещающимся псевдоожиженным слоем в поле центробежных сил. Statement of the problem. The air supplied to the premises during the hot season must be cooled to comfortable temperatures. Due to the fact that additional energy consumption for this cooling is not provided, it is possible to use an evaporative-type air cooler. However, the currently known results of experimental and theoretical studies of such devices do not allow for their design, which prevents their spread. The structure of such an apparatus is considered and its theoretical and experimental studies are carried out, the results of which can be used for engineering calculation and design of such apparatus. Results. An evaporative-type air cooler designed by the authors for ventilation systems is described. A theoretical and experimental study of the air cooler has been carried out. Analytical relationships were obtained for determining the time of movement of the material checker in the «wet» chamber of the apparatus, the temperature of the cooled air and the temperature of the checker in any section of the circulation loop. Empirical relationships have been obtained for the efficiency coefficient of the cooler and its hydraulic resistance. Сonclusions. The obtained dependencies will serve as the basis for the development of a methodology for the design calculation of indirect-evaporative air coolers with a moving fluidized bed in the field of centrifugal forces.

It was proposed to use air flow screw straightened units in outlet pipe of the dust collectors to reduce the aerodynamic resistance of exhaust ventilation systems. It is allowed to decrease power consumption for their maintenance operation consequently. The article describes the results of experimental studies to evaluate its effectiveness by applying the tangential screw straightened unit within ventilation system. The obtained results showed that the use of this device allows reducing the aerodynamic resistance of the cyclone by 14.6%, and for counter-swirling flows’ dust collector (CSFC) by 17.2-23.6%. It was found that meanings of the aerodynamic resistance depend on value the share proportion of the flow entering into lower CSFC apparatus’ input.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption performance from flue gas was investigated using monoethanolamine (MEA) solution in porous hydrophobic polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) hollow fiber membranes contactor. The influence of operating parameters on CO2 removal efficiency and flux were studied in the immersion operating mode. The experimental results indicated that the CO2 removal efficiency and flux decreased with the increase of flue gas load and carbonization degrees, but the increase of the absorbent concentration and temperature promoted membrane performance of CO2 capture. An increase of 84 m3•m-2•h-1 in the flue gas load resulted in a 68% decrease in the removal efficiency. Absorbent carbonation degree increased to 0.45 mol CO2•mol-1MEA led to the decrease of active ingredient amounts in the absorption solution, and the corresponding removal efficiency and membrane flux dropped by 50% of the initial amounts, respectively. The increase of concentration and temperature of absorbent also benefited membrane absorption performance of CO2 absorption, so that the concentration and temperature of the solvent increased lead to the CO2 removal efficiency and flux increased.
