In order to obtain the forming and the velocity of LEFP(Linear Explosively Formed Penetrators) based on one part of semicircle liner, the X-ray radiography and test velocity technology are used to obtain the forming and velocity of LEFP. In this paper, an analytical approach to describe the two-dimensional liner motion of LSCs is addressed firstly at a detonation-point. The relationship of LEFP flight distance can approximate a linear equation to estimate the distance of LEFP before contacting target. Experimental results showed that the shape of LEFP likes a scimitar according to gray image, and LEFP can close around linear explosive charge length axis direction.

One of the grand scenes of the Passion narratives can be found in John’s Gospel where Pilate, presenting Jesus to the people, proclaims “Behold the man”: “Ecce Homo.” But what exactly does Pilate mean when he asks the reader to “Behold”? This paper takes as its point of departure a roughly drawn picture of Jesus in the “Ecce Homo” tradition and explores the relationship of this picture to its referent in John’s Gospel, via its capacity as kitsch devotional art. Contemporary scholarship on kitsch focuses on what kitsch does, or how it functions, rather than assessing what it is. From this perspective, when “beholding” is understood not for what it reveals but for what it does, John’s scene takes on a very different significance. It becomes a scene that breaks down traditional divisions between big and small stories, subject and object as well as text and context. A kitsch perspective opens up possibilities for locating John’s narrative in unexpected places and experiences. Rather than being a two-dimensional departure from the grandeur of John’s trial scene, kitsch “art” actually provides a lens through which the themes and dynamics of the narrative can be re-viewed with an expansiveness somewhat lacking from more traditional commentary.

We explore the estimation of a two-dimensional (2D) nonsymmetric coherently distributed (CD) source using L-shaped arrays. Compared with a symmetric source, the modeling and estimation of a nonsymmetric source are more practical. A nonsymmetric CD source is established through modeling the deterministic angular signal distribution function as a summation of Gaussian probability density functions. Parameter estimation of the nonsymmetric distributed source is proposed under an expectation maximization (EM) framework. The proposed EM iterative calculation contains three steps in each cycle. Firstly, the nominal azimuth angles and nominal elevation angles of Gaussian components in the nonsymmetric source are obtained from the relationship of rotational invariance matrices. Then, angular spreads can be solved through one-dimensional (1D) searching based on nominal angles. Finally, the powers of Gaussian components are obtained by solving least-squares estimators. Simulations are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the nonsymmetric CD model and estimation technique.

This study discussed the photoreduction of Cr(VI) ions in aqueous solutions by UV/TiO2photocatalytic processes under various operational factors. Experimental results showed that the removal rate of Cr(VI) increased with decreasing solution pH values and with increasing dosages of organic compounds, indicating that the recombination rate of electrons and h+can be retarded in the reaction systems by the addition of the scavenger, thus raising the reaction rate of Cr(VI). The relationship of the chemical reaction rate of Cr(VI), TiO2dosage, and changes of Cr(VI) concentration was expressed by the pseudo-first-order kinetic equation. Comparing the experimental results of two different doping metals in modified TiO2photoreduction systems, the removal rate of Cr(VI) by the Ag/TiO2process is larger, possibly because the electron transferring ability of Ag is superior to that of Cu. However, the photoreduction rates of Cr(VI) by modified UV/TiO2processes are worse than those by a nonmodified commercial UV/TiO2process.

The aim of this study was to determine the Fe and Zn concentrations in some leafy vegetables (cabbage, spinach, celery and lettuce) and in their growing soil collected from sites with different industrial activity; in fruiting body of wild edible mushrooms (Armillariella mellea) and in their substrate (soil) collected at different distances by a metal smelter, by using energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technique. A quantitative evaluation of the relationship of Fe and Zn uptake by the vegetables and mushrooms from soil was made by calculating the coefficient accumulation Ka. The results reveal that lettuce is a accumulator of Fe and Armillariella mellea is a accumulator of Zn.

Single crystals of the so far unknown compounds KCuGd2Mo4O16 (I) and KCuTb2Mo4O16 (II) have been prepared by flux technique. The compounds crystallize with monoclinic symmetry. space group C62h-C2 /c with (I): a = 5.278(2), b = 12.666(5), c = 19.604(14) Å; β = 92.76(6)°; (II): a = 5.259(13), b = 12.616(3), c = 19.556(9) Å, β = 92.93(4)°, Z = 4. Molybdenum exhibits tetrahedral coordination. The surroundings of copper can be described by distorted tetrahedra, capped by two more distant oxygen atoms, and the rare earth ions show a square antiprism. Potassium is inside an irregular polyhedron. The relationship of the structures of (I) and (II) is discussed with respect to the KLnMo2O8 type compounds. Coulomb term calculations of the lattice energy indicate an oxidation state of copper higher than CuI.

AbstractVivianite specimens from various world localities yield X-ray powder patterns of two types: one corresponds with that shown by synthetic Fe3(PO4)2· 8H2O and is not readily distinguished from that of barićite; the second shows reflections of monoclinic vivianite and triclinic metavivianite along with reflections of a bobierrite-type phase. The triclinic phase occurs as two twin-related lattices with twin plane 110 being the structural equivalent of 010 in the monoclinic phase. The relationship of the bobierrite-type lattice to the other two has not been established. The ternary pattern is produced by some coarse-grained vivianites on natural oxidation. Finer grained vivianites oxidise to an X-ray amorphous state without passing through a triclinic intermediate.
