A three dimensional fluid flow model was set up in this paper, based on the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the elasticity theory. Using the finite volume method, a 120° bend was taken as a research object to simulate the erosion to the wall of fluid with sparse particles, finally, to determine the most severe wear areas. At the same time, the distribution of two-phase flows pressure and velocity was analyzed in 45° and 90° bends, then tracked the trajectory of the particles. The results show that the 90°bend has the smallest wear area and particle distribution or combination property is the best.

In recent years, multirotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become more and more important in the field of plant protection in China. Multirotor unmanned plant protection UAVs have been widely used in vast plains, hills, mountains, and other regions, and become an integral part of China’s agricultural mechanization and modernization. The easy takeoff and landing performances of UAVs are urgently required for timely and effective spraying, especially in dispersed plots and hilly mountains. However, the unclearness of wind field distribution leads to more serious droplet drift problems. The drift and distribution of droplets, which depend on airflow distribution characteristics of UAVs and the droplet size of the nozzle, are directly related to the control effect of pesticide and crop growth in different growth periods. This paper proposes an approach to research the influence of the downwash and windward airflow on the motion distribution of droplet group for the SLK-5 six-rotor plant protection UAV. At first, based on the Navier-Stokes (N-S) equation and SST k–ε turbulence model, the three-dimensional wind field numerical model is established for a six-rotor plant protection UAV under 3 kg load condition. Droplet discrete phase is added to N-S equation, the momentum and energy equations are also corrected for continuous phase to establish a two-phase flow model, and a three-dimensional two-phase flow model is finally established for the six-rotor plant protection UAV. By comparing with the experiment, this paper verifies the feasibility and accuracy of a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method in the calculation of wind field and spraying two-phase flow field. Analyses are carried out through the combination of computational fluid dynamics and radial basis neural network, and this paper, finally, discusses the influence of windward airflow and droplet size on the movement of droplet groups.

The numerical calculation and simulation of gas-liquid two-phase flows with interfacial deformations have nowadays become more and more popular issues in various scientific and industrial fields. In this study, a three-dimensional gas-liquid two-phase flow numerical model is presented for investigating interfacial flows. The finite volume method was used to discretize the governing equations. A High-resolution scheme of VOF method (STACS) is applied to capture the free surface. The paper outlines the methodology of STACS and its validation against three typical test cases used to verify its accuracy. The results show the STACS-VOF gives very satisfactory results for three-dimensional two-phase interfacial flows problem, and this scheme performs more accurate and less diffusive preserving interface sharpness and boundedness.

The functions of hydroentangled nonwovens are determined by the degree of the fiber entanglement, which depend mainly on parameters of the water jet. According to the spun lacing technology, this paper set up the numerical model based on the simplified water jetting model, establishing the governing equations, and the blended two-phase flow as the multiphase flow model. This paper simulation the water needle after the water jetting from the water needle plate in the different pressure (100bar, 60bar, 45bar, 35bar).

This paper aims to apply computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to simulate air flow and air flow with water droplets, as a reasonable hypothesis for real flows, in order to evaluate a vertical separator vessel with inclined half-pipe inlet device (slope inlet). Thus, this type was compared to a separator vessel without inlet device (straight inlet). The results demonstrated a different performance for the two types in terms of air distribution and liquid removal efficiency.

In order to ensure safety of nuclear installations, thermohydraulics has developed many ways how to predict the behavior of coolant in a heated boiling channel. Accuracy of these predictions can be improved using three-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method, which is based on first principles of fluid mechanics. Even though when using CFD, there is a struggle between the accuracy and low computation costs, in many cases CFD can provide feasible improvement of accuracy compared to more traditional approaches. In this research, the focus is set on channel boiling problems, especially those associated with boiling transitions. The phenomenon of critical heat flux (CHF) is investigated using two-phase CFD computation and is compared to experimental data. There is also comparison with other computation methods. When experiment provides some set of data, CFD calculation provides description of the whole flow behavior that provides significantly more information and is of great value during the design process when it gives the understanding of undergoing effects. Besides CHF, general ability of CFD to predict changes in boiling patterns in two-phase channel boiling flows is discussed.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is used for the investigation of the piston wind. The Navier-Stokes (N-S) equations and standard turbulence model were applied to set up the model. The train transient aerodynamic characteristic has been research during the crossing process. The simulation results are trustworthy and numerical simulation of piston wind is feasible using dynamic grid in CFD software, which provides the basis for the virtual design of piston wind. It is significant importance for further studying the structure of train, shorten its development and guiding significance for practical application.

The paper proposes a solution to the problem of determining hydrodynamic loads on the rocket and submarine using numerical simulation based on the control volume method in a three-dimensional non-stationary problem statement. We took into consideration contours, rocket and submarine velocity, medium two-phase state (gas liquid), viscosity and gravity. We calculated the start effects on the rocket and submarine for two cases: when the submarine is moving and stationary. The reliability and accuracy of the calculations were confirmed by comparing them with the results of the tests on a model in the hydro tank at JSC Academician V. P. Makeyev State Rocket Centre.

Based on the principle and method of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), using the software, FLUENT, the inner flow field in a mixed-flow stirred reactor was simulated and the flow details were studied roundly. This article analyzed the three-dimensional velocity field distribution and testified the reliability of numerical simulation to a certain extent. The simulated effect was proved effective. The results of this paper provided a good base and reference for the further research of the stirred reactor.
