The aim of the paper is to identify the factors influencing consumers when beer consumption and when choosing restaurants for beer consumption in the Czech Republic (CR). A partial goal was to compare preferences and factors influencing beer consumers from the Vysočina Region and the South-Moravian Region. The survey included a questionnaire survey, which 408 respondents took part in. The results showed that the most influential factors in the selection of beer for consumers are taste, a high-quality brand, and Czech production. Surprisingly, price was not found to be an influential factor in beer selection but is rather neutral. Factors that influence consumers most when choosing a restaurant for beer consumption were also identified. Consumers are most influenced by the quality of the beer on offer and the environment in which it is consumed.

Fallow deer meat (venison) is a new product acquired from farm-raised and wild animals. Nowadays, people are more concerned about their health, and therefore, they search for high quality, “healthy” products. Farming of fallow deer is ecological and friendly to the environment. Animals are kept in pasture conditions which resemble their natural environment. Venison is considered healthy meat, low in fat and cholesterol, and high in protein. The aim of this review was to gather and discuss the available literature on factors influencing the quality of venison such as sex, age, slaughter method and housing system, feeding, hanging method, animal condition, muscle type, and ageing of meat, considering both farm-raised and wild fallow deer.

Recent South African and international evidence highlights the broad and lasting impacts of households, particularly those on low income, when unable to afford higher income counterparts to live in apartments, maintained public housing, and other high-quality houses. A broad range of low-income houses recently built in South African local municipalities are reportedly defective, due to poor building and construction quality. This study aims to assess and determine the factors influencing high-quality housing positively impacting on the lives of a significant proportion of low-income housing projects. Reasons for and obstacles to quality design, construction quality and the development of low-income housing projects were identified. To assess the research questions, a quantitative survey (n=103) was carried out, simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used to select contractors who were active in low-income housing projects within the Polokwane Municipality. The quantitative data gathered were analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to determine a combination of descriptive and non-parametric statistics of the data computing the frequencies, mean scores and standard deviations. Selected results show that poor-quality and low-income housing projects are perceived to be related to the contractors, builders and construction practitioners not complying with the standards, variously because of insufficient training or accountability to public authorities and end users of low-income houses, i.e., the beneficiaries. The respondents were of the view that house builders and local government authorities could use five factors, namely quality standards, management, involvement of people, process design and process, planning and scheduling to assess non-conformance to quality requirements in low-income housing projects in South Africa. The finding of this study provides a platform for improving the quality of housing design, construction projects, sustainability and an opportunity for local and international design and construction professionals to rethink design in the context of low-income housing projects.

The article discusses the problems of ensuring high-quality formation and normative properties of butt joints of the 1560M and 1980T1 (AMg6 and B48) aluminum alloys as applied to engineering. A method is proposed for joining materials by means of EBW using an electron beam sweep. Homogeneous and dissimilar joints have been investigated, heat treatment of joint from the 1980T1 alloy and a dissimilar joint from the 1560M + 1980T1 alloys is recommended. The paper also presents the results of mechanical properties testing, the corrosion resistance and the delayed fracture tests. A welding technology that makes it possible to obtain high-quality butt-welded joints from aluminum alloys in thicknesses up to 40 mm has been developed and implemented.

This paper firstly analyzes the problems that exist in the cold rolling of steel industry. Secondly, a new approach is proposed to temper and straighten the strip steel based on the temper leveling mill, shortly, TLM. The required high quality of the wave, surface and mechanical properties can be achieved only with TLM. TLM holds the functions of both temper machine and straightening mill and can produce good quality strip steel, no only the waviness, mechanical properties, but also the surface quality. The usage of TLM can lower the cost of the production of tempering, straightening and equipment investment. Finally, the experiments are done and verify the validity of the approach.

Optimizing the mechanical properties of composites is very important for light low energy constructions. Unidirectional prepreg (UD prepreg) is an intermediate product synthesizing a unidirectional layer of carbon fibres with a matrix. This can be used in the production of continuous fibres of reinforced composites. The individual layers can be stacked on top of each other to precisely orientate the layers and attain the maximum properties in a given direction. The resulting composite is ultra thin with the highest possible fraction of fibres. Prepreg composites are very high quality and have very good mechanical properties. They can be applied in sectors where the requirements for mechanical resistance are very high. This paper presents an experimental and numerical analysis of the surface of a composite and the changes that may occur to it under the influence of loading. The Ball Drop Test (ASTM D6024-07 / DIN 52306) was used as a stress test. Test samples scanned by image analysis showed that the surface properties of the UD prepreg were not disrupted, while scanning with AXIO IMAGER M2 showed apparent surface disruptions. From the numerical simulations it was determined that a directional orientation of the fibres of +45°/0°/-45° significantly affects their elastic properties.

For the high quality of wheel, the railway wheel has standardized such as UIC, KS, and JIS code but the chemical composition, the mechanical property and the hardness is merely requested. Although the standard of railway wheel has sustained, the damages of railway wheel have been occurred in service running. Because of wheel damage with spalling, shelling and thermal crack, the maintenance cost for the railway wheel has increased. In order to reduce wheel damage, it is necessary to reinforce the standard of railway wheel. In present study, the fracture mechanics characteristics of railway wheel such as threshold stress intensive factor, fracture toughness and impact energy depended on temperature have tested. The result shows that the standard of railway wheel has to supplement fracture toughness and impact energy depended on low temperature in order to reduce the wheel damage.
