The stability and reliability of the shift friction plate are the main condition to guarantee the normal working for the planetary gearbox. But the failures of the friction plate, such as fracture or broken plastic deformation, often appear during the real vehicle testing process. Currently, most studies focus on chemical composition analysis and fracture analysis for the fractured friction plate, but less study for shock damage. In this paper, we develop a multi-body dynamic model, a finite element model and a rigid-flexible coupling dynamic model to analyze and compare the vibration characteristics of the friction plate with three different support forms. The variation law of the impact force and frequency can be obtained for the tooth portion of the friction plate with different support forms. Finally, it can provide theoretical guidance for studying the failure of friction plate at high speed. Keywords: Friction Plate; Rigid-flexible Coupling; Vibration Characteristics

This paper established a high-speed tracked vehicle dynamics model, and simulated the transient response of sprocket when the vehicle is running at 60km/h on the D class road. the finite element model of the single tooth in mesh is established in Ansys and the rigid-flexible coupling model of "trackboard- sprocket" is established in RecurDyn. The dynamic stress and strain fringe of the sprocket’s gear ring is achieved by analysis. Simulation results show that the stress of tracked vehicle sprocket gear root and the fixed gear bolt hole is larger, and the stress concentration is detected at the edge of contacted tooth. The simulation results provide the calculation basis for the optimization of the high-speed tracked vehicle system and its lifespan prediction.

As braking components, friction plates are key components in automobile transmissions. Due to tough working conditions, i.e. high speed, high friction, fracture and plastic deformation are easily observed in friction plates. However, most of previous studies mainly focused on the chemical analysis of the fracture friction plate, the researches on impact damage have rarely published in the listed literature. In order to investigate the impact damage for friction plate, a dynamic model for a friction plate of a 6-speed planetary gear train is established based on multi-body theory. The dynamic model of planetary gear transmission mechanism is constructed. The rotating speed of the inner hub is obtained. Furthermore, the contact force between the friction plate and the inner hub is calculated. The relationship between the vibration characteristics of the friction plate and operation conditions are studied.

Rotating systems components such as rotors, have dynamic characteristics that are of great importance to understand because they may cause failure of turbomachinery. Therefore, it is required to study a dynamic model to predict some vibration characteristics, in this case, the natural frequencies and mode shapes (both of free vibration) of a centrifugal compressor shaft. The peculiarity of the dynamic model proposed is that using frequency and displacements values obtained experimentally, it is possible to calculate the mass and stiffness distribution of the shaft, and then use these values to estimate the theoretical modal parameters. The natural frequencies and mode shapes of the shaft were obtained with experimental modal analysis by using the impact test. The results predicted by the model are in good agreement with the experimental test. The model is also flexible with other geometries and has a great time and computing performance, which can be evaluated with respect to other commercial software in the future.

Finite element model of track in frog zone is built by vehicle-turnout system dynamics. Considering variation of rail section and elastic support, bending deformation of turnout sleeper, spacer block and sharing pad effects, the track integral rigidity distribution in longitudinal direction is calculated in the model. Vehicle-turnout rigid-flexible coupling model is built by finite element method (FEM), multi-body system (MBS) dynamics and Hertz contact theory. With the regularity solution that different stiffness is applied for rubber pad under sharing pad of different turnout sleeper zone, analysis the variation of vertical acceleration of bogie and wheelset, rail vertical displacement and wheel-rail interaction force, this paper proves that setting reasonable rubber pad stiffness is an efficient method to solve rigidity irregularity problem.

In order to study the effects of high-speed railway in tunnel on vibration response of upper building, the Vehicle-Track-Tunnel-Soil-Building coupling dynamic model was established, and the reaction force of fasteners was used to transmit between Vehicle-Track coupling dynamic model and Tunnel-Soil-Building finite element model. According to modal analysis for typical section of building, sensitive frequency range and sensitive structure locations were obtained. In terms of two conditions, Tunnel-Building Integrated Structure and building are evaded from tunnel for some distance, 1/3 octave vibration level and VLZ vibration acceleration level for all measuring points were calculated to analyze the vibration response of building. The results are shown as follows: for Tunnel-Building Integrated Structure, the overall vibration level is high, which is above 65dB. 2-3dB will be reduced by decreasing speed and improving standard of track. when building is evaded from tunnel for some distance, with larger evaded distance, the vibration response is slighter. However, when evaded distance is above 30m, vibration may be amplified ,so its necessary to select proper distance. Vibration response of structure is most strong when 4 lines meet under building, so strict limitation on meeting condition of trains can effectively reduce vibration level.

Aeroengines pursue high performance, and compressing blade-casing clearance has become one of the main ways to improve turbomachinery efficiency. Rub-impact faults occur frequently with clearance decreasing. A high-speed rotor-support-casing test rig was set up, and the mechanism tests of light and heavy rub-impact were carried out. A finite element model of the test rig was established, and the calculation results were in good agreement with the experimental results under both kinds of rub-impact conditions. Based on the actual blade-casing structure model, the effects of the major physical parameters including imbalance and material characteristics were investigated. During the rub-impact, the highest stress occurs at the blade tip first and then it is transmitted to the blade root. Deformation on the impact blade tip generates easily with decreased yield strength, and stress concentration at the blade tip occurs obviously with weaker stiffness. The agreement of the computation results with the experimental data indicates the method could be used to estimate rub-impact characteristics and is effective in design and analyses process.

The objective of this work is to understand the coupling of fluid dynamics and heat transfer during the impact of a millimeter-size water droplet on a flat, solid glass substrate. In this work, a finite-element model is presented which simulates the transient fluid dynamics and heat transfer during the droplet deposition process, considering Laplace forces on the liquid-gas boundary, and the dynamics of wetting. A novel, experimental laser-based method is used to measure temperatures at the solid-liquid interface. This method is based on a thermoreflectance technique and provides unprecedented temporal and spatial resolutions of 1 microsecond and 20 micrometer, respectively. Matching between simulations, temperature measurements and high-speed visualization allows the determination of the interfacial heat transfer coefficient.

In order to investigate the impact factors and their affection on high-speed precision multilink punch press (MPP), the dynamic model with different joint clearance was established, and the influence of different clearance and speed on the dynamic positional repeatability of bottom dead center (BDC) was analyzed. The elastic dynamic model of high-speed MPP was established, the affection of the elastic deformation and elastic wave on the positional repeatability of the BDC were presented by using modal superposition method to solve dynamic equation. Meanwhile, experiments on the dynamic repeatability of the BDC of the punch during working were completed. At last, the comparison of the experimental results with the analyzed results was given, and based on which, it can be concluded that the clearance, elastic wave and deformation are the key factors of the dynamic repeatability precision of the BDC.

In order to understand the vibration characteristics of gears based on trapped-oil in external spur-gear pump, from the calculations of trapped-oil pressure and hydraulic load and contact stiffness and trapped-oil stiffness, etc., a dynamic model coupled with trapped-oil pressure was derived for the gears, then an iterative operation based on Runge-Kutta method was used for analyzing the model, therefore the data related to trapped-oil pressure and the vibration displacement and the vibration velocity were obtained in a periodic of trapped oil, and the impact of different backlash value and different distance between two unloading grooves on trapped oil pressure and dynamic characteristics of gears was briefly analyzed. All results of simulation showed that trapped-oil pressure and trapped-oil stiffness had greater impact on vibration characteristics of gears in external spur-gear pump, trapped-oil stiffness could reduce the vibration of the gears; in simulation of trapped-oil pressure, dynamic trapped-oil model related to dynamic characteristics of gears more accurate than the static trapped-oil model irrelated to dynamic characteristics of gears; the trapped-oil pressures in two trapped-oil cavity were different, the vibration characteristics of gears was better that in larger backlash value, etc.. Finally, by the trapped-oil stiffness of the external gear pump is unique, the important conclusions are educed that the vibration of gears in external spur-gear pump is indeed different from conventional gears and so on.

Impact characterization of linear resonant actuator (LRA) is studied experimentally by newly developed drop tester, which can control various experimental uncertainty such as rotational moment, air resistance, secondary impact and so on. The feasibility of this test apparatus was verified by comparison with free fall test. By utilizing a high-speed camera and measuring the vibrational displacement of spring material, the impact behavior was captured and the damping ratio of the system was defined. Based on the above processes, the finite element model was established and the experimental and analytical results were successfully correlated. Finally, the damage of the system from impact loading can be expected by developed model and as a result, this research can improve the impact reliability of LRA.
