Experimental and numerical research of the effect of blasting vibrations during tunneling on surrounding structures (rock mass, existing tunnels, buildings, etc.) was widely studied in recent years. However, the effect of blasting vibration from a new tunnel on an existing adjacent tunnel is still unclear. A few researches has been carried out to study the relationship of the observed Peak Particle Velocity (PPV) on the lining areas along the existing tunnel direction, due to either the lack of in situ test data or the difficulty in conducting field tests, particularly for tunnels that are usually old and vulnerable after several decades of service. The paper uses the synthetic analysis method, study result of Croix-Rousse, Lyon, France to propose on assessing the effects of blasting vibration on the existing lining of the main tunnel during expanding excavation the auxiliary tunnel by drilling and blasting method in similar conditions at Hai Van Pass Tunnel in Viet Nam .

In recent years, experimental and numerical researches on the effect of blasting pressure on the stability of existing tunnels was widely obtained. However, the effect of the blasting pressure during excavation a new tunnel or expansion old tunnels on an existing tunnel has disadvantages and still unclear. Some researches were carried out to study the relationship of the observed Peak Particle Velocity (PPV) on the lining areas along the existing tunnel direction, due to either the lack of in situ test data or the difficulty in conducting field tests, particularly for tunnels that are usually old and vulnerable after several decades of service. This paper introduces using numerical methods with the field data investigations on the effect of the blasting in a new tunnel on the surrounding rock mass and on the existing tunnel. The research results show that not only predicting the tunnel lining damage zone under the impact of blast loads but also determination peak maximum of explosion at the same time at the surface of tunnel working.

Purpose – This paper aims to explore the role of private stakeholders in the living lab (LL) ecosystem and the relationship of private stakeholders to open innovation (OI) practices. There is extensive literature on private stakeholders and OI, but seldom mention is made on the specific question of how private stakeholders integrate OI in the context of a LL. Design/methodology/approach – The authors will analyze qualitatively how private businesses that have participated in a in situ open innovation evaluate and perceived their open innovation practices. Therefore, how they relate to open innovation. Then, the authors will identify a typology of the businesses in relation to OI. Findings – The research focused on the relationship of private stakeholders to OI in the context of in situ OI activities. The results obtained are consistent with literature on OI (Chesbrough, 2003). However, there are differences: if the elements mentioned by the respondents are described in literature, their representation of OI and its components allows us to affirm that this practice is not generalised and that it is often open to interpretation. That emphasises the importance of the role LLs can play as intermediaries to accompany private stakeholders in the OI process. Private stakeholders look for a guide to develop their OI know-how and find their way in the OI ecosystem. Originality/value – The value of this paper is to bridge the research on OI done with private organisation and the research on LLs. The research literature did not pay much attention to the representation of the private stakeholders in the OI ecosystem. This paper has provided the start to open up that field.

ABSTRACT Intracellular granules containing ferric and ferrous iron formed in Shewanella putrefaciens CN32 during dissimilatory reduction of solid-phase ferric iron. It is the first in situ detection at high resolution (150 nm) of a mixed-valence metal particle residing within a prokaryotic cell. The relationship of the internal particles to Fe(III) reduction may indicate a respiratory role.

This study aims to find out the relationship of readability over financial reporting footnotes and audit outcomes. Audit outcomes are projected by audit fees and audit report lag.  Researchers used data from the company's financial statements listed on IDX in 2015-2018. Researchers used purposive sampling. From the copying, researchers processed 184 company data. This study used the panel's data regression analysis method. Data processing uses Generalized - least - squares.  This research proves that the worse the readability, the lower the audit fee.  Meanwhile, the worse the readability, the more time it takes the auditor to carry out an examination of the financial statements. This phenomenon occurs because the condition of the readability of notes to financial statements in Indonesia is still at a low level.

The general objective of this research was to measure the peat soil shear strength using Wenner four-point probes and vane shear strength methods. Specifically, the objective of this study was two-fold, namely, (a) investigating the relationship between laboratory soil resistivity and undrained shear strength and (b) determineing the relationship between in-situ soil resistivity and undrained shear strength. Data were randomly collected over six locations in Meranek, Sarawak, for in-situ test and three repetitions for each data were set based on three parameters. The selected parameters were soil density, moisture content, and salinity for both laboratory and in-situ test using Wenner four-point probes and vane shear method. The soil resistivity and vane shear strength readings for laboratory test were correlated with soil salinity, moisture content, and density. The R2 values showed a good correlation for soil salinity (R2 =0.8468) and density (R2 =0.9475), respectively. However, a weak correlation of R2 =0.1205 was observed for soil moisture. The R2 value for in-situ correlation between soil resistivity and three parameters (soil salinity, moisture content, and density) was R2 =0.8916. It can be concluded that the peat soil shear strengths of the study area using Wenner four-point probes from in-situ were (4.38 ohm.m) and laboratory was (2.47 ohm.m) and when using the vane shear strength method, in-situ was (23 kPA) and laboratory was (5 kPA). This study implies that the peat soil of the study area can be categorized as texture (soft loamy soil) and it is suitable for agriculture instead of construction. The relationship established between Wenner four-point probes and vane shear method can be beneficial for ground engineering design to enhance investigation on site suitability. Future work on DUALEM-421 technique should be emphasised for better subsurface exploration accuracy and resolve peat depth for an in-situ test.
