Hernias are a significant, non-infectious animal condition. In productive animals, failure to provide surgical treatment leads to premature rejection and potential loss of their productive longevity. In small pets, this becomes a social problem for pet owners related to the keeping and death of affected animals. The aim of this study was to study the histological parameters of tissues during implantation of monofilament mesh in cattle for periods up to four months. The study was conducted on eight bulls of the Black Motley breed, divided into two groups of four animals. In the first group, four bulls received a subcutaneous implant of hernioplasty mesh made of polypropylene monofilament (Herniamesh S.R.I. Via CiRie 22 / A, San Maruro Torinese, Torino, Italy) in the area of the lateral soft abdominal wall on the right and left sides. In the second group, four bulls received implants in the middle third of the neck to the right and left sides. Thus, the subject of research was 16 wounds with implanted mesh. A sterile piece monofilament mesh, 1x2 cm in size and folded in half along the longitudinal side, was inserted vertically into the formed hypodermic pocket on the right side of the wound, in which it was possible to freely place the specified mesh. During the course of the study, Polycon No. 4 thread with intermittent knotted seams was used, and three sutures were applied. To ensure fixation of the mesh, it was stitched centrally. The material for histological studies was taken by biopsy at one, two, three and four months after implantation. Tissue was embedded in paraffin blocks, and sections were stained with haematoxylin-eosin and picrofuchsin according to Van Gieson. The results indicated that after subcutaneous implantation of monofilament mesh in the neck and abdominal wall in cattle, wound healing occurs by primary intention. It was revealed that from the beginning of the histological study to one month, the monofilament mesh is first overgrown with loose connective tissue. By the end of the study, after four months, this is sequentially differentiated into dense connective tissue. No significant differences were observed between the abdominal wall and neck area as sites of implantation, and morphological processes in both sites proceeded in the same way. Thus, the conducted studies allow us to conclude that monofilament mesh is a suitable material for closing the hernial ring in cattle, where it is not possible to use their own tissues for these purposes.

Relevance. The number of ventral hernias recurrence after abdominal wall endoprosthetics with the lightweight endoprosthesis is 8-10%. The purpose of the research is to study the morphological changes of the connective tissue, surrounding a lightweight polypropylene endoprosthesis, at the early stages of implantation at the use of platelet-rich autoplasma. Materials and methods. The results of experimental research of the course of wound process in the abdominal wall tissues during the implantation of the lightweight polypropylene prosthesis on 50 Chinchilla rabbits divided into 2 groups of 25 animal units each have been analyzed. Subaponeurotic implantation of the prosthesis was carried out in the first group of animals. In the second group, the platelet-rich autoplasma was twice introduced after the implantation of the prosthesis during surgery and on the third day of the postoperative period at the rate of 0,5 ml plasma per 1 cm2 of the endoprosthesis. The animals were taken away from the experiment on the 3rd, 7th, 10th, 14th and 21st day. Morphometric and histological study of reactive changes of tissue surrounding the implanted endoprosthesis was carried out. Results and its discussion. In the animals of the second group, the inflammatory response to prosthesis implantation was 1,3 times lower on the third day, 1,2 times lower on the 7th day, and 1,1 times lower on the 10th day, than in the first group. Fibroblastic response, on the contrary, has increased into 1,2 times on the third day, into 1,14 during the 7th day and into 1,18 during the 14th day after the introduction of autoplasma. The thickness of the connective tissue capsule in the second group was 1,57 times higher than in the first group on the 21st day of the experiment. At this time, in the first group, the immature connective tissue capsule has been represented by the loose collagen fibers and fibroblastic cells without separation into the layers. In the second group, a dense connective tissue frame has been formed by the mature collagen fibers arranged compactly and in parallel to each other. The layer-by-layer structure of the capsule is well expressed: the inner layer consists of the fibroblastic cells, and the outer layer consists of the mature collagen fibers. Conclusion. The use of platelet-rich plasma to stimulate reparative processes in the implantation of the lightweight polypropylene prosthesis in the abdominal wall is pathogenetically justified and effective.

The topic acquires its importance from a search in the strategies of the frivolous state and its characteristics with the ability to influence the regional, and what it revealed is a turning point in how to adapt from the variables and employ them to their advantage and try to prove their existence. Thus, the problem comes in the form of a question about the possibility of the frivolous state in light of the context of various regional and international events and trends. The answer to this question stems from the main hypothesis that (the aim which the frustrating state seeks to prove is that it finds itself compelled to choose several strategies that start from the nature of its characteristics and the goals that aim at it, which are centered in the circle of its interests in the field of its struggle for the sake of its survival and area of influence).

The approach of this research is qualitative and descriptive. In this study those who become the subject of research is an informant (key figure). The subject of this study is divided into two main components, consisting of internal public and external public that is from the Board of the Central Executive Board of Gerindra Party, Party Cadres, Observers and Journalists. The object of this research is the behavior, activities and opinions of Gerindra Party Public Relation Team. In this study used data collection techniques with interviews, participatory observation, and triangulation of data. The results of this study indicate that the Public Relations Gerindra has implemented strategies through various public relations programs and establish good media relations with the reporters so that socialization goes well. So also with the evaluation that is done related to the strategy of the party. The success of Gerindra Party in maintaining the party’s image in Election 2014 as a result of the running of PR strategy and communication and sharing the right type of program according to the characteristics of the voting community or its constituents.Keywords: PR Strategy, Gerindra Party, Election 2014

It is no less difficult in learning to do assessment, because when assessment teachers are required to be careful and meticulous so that the results are not wrong, be careful in determining appropriate measurement tools as measured, or careful in operating the right tools, especially teachers are required able to do a complete assessment (authentic) in three domains (cognitive, psychomotor, and affective). Understanding of the causes and correlations for algorithmic decisions is currently one of the major challenges of computer science, addressed under an umbrella term “explainable AI (XAI)”. Being able to explain an AI-based system may help to make algorithmic decisions more satisfying and acceptable, to better control and update AI-based systems in case of failure, to build more accurate models, and to discover new knowledge directly or indirectly. On the legal side, the question whether the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides data subjects with the right to explanation in case of automated decision-making has equally been the subject of a heated doctrinal debate. While arguing that the right to explanation in the GDPR should be a result of interpretative analysis of several GDPR provisions jointly, the authors move this debate forward by discussing the technical and legal feasibility of the explanation of algorithmic decisions. Legal limits, in particular the secrecy of algorithms, as well as technical obstacles could potentially obstruct the practical implementation of this right. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the authors explore not only whether it is possible to translate the EU legal requirements for an explanation into the actual machine learning decision-making, but also whether those limitations can shape the way the legal right is used in practice.

Abstract Germany is one of few jurisdictions with a bifurcated patent system, under which infringement and validity of a patent are established in separate proceedings. Because validity proceedings normally take longer to conclude, it can occur that remedies for infringement are imposed before a decision on the patent’s validity is available. This phenomenon is colloquially known as the ‘injunction gap’ and has been the subject of increasing criticism over the past years. In this article, I examine the injunction gap from the perspective of the right to a fair trial enshrined in Art. 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights. I find that the case law of the European Court of Human Rights interpreting this provision supports criticism of the injunction gap, because imposing infringement remedies with potentially far-reaching consequences before the validity of a patent has been established by a court of law arguably violates defendants’ right to be heard. Such reliance on the patent office’s grant decision is no longer warranted in the light of contemporary invalidation rates. I conclude that the proliferation of the injunction gap should be curbed by an approach to a stay of proceedings which is in line with the test for stays as formulated by Germany’s Federal Supreme Court. Under this test, courts should stay infringement proceedings until the Federal Patent Court or the EPO’s Board of Appeal have ruled on the validity of a patent whenever it is more likely than not that it will be invalidated.

The route efferent vagal fibers travel to reach the left ventricle is not clear and was the subject of this investigation. We measured left ventricular and septal effective refractory period (ERP) changes during vagal stimulation and a constant infusion of norepinephrine, before and after phenol was applied at selected sites of the heart to interrupt efferent vagal fibers that may be traveling in that area. Phenol applied to the atrioventricular (AV) groove between the origin of the right coronary artery anteriorly to the posterior descending branch of the circumflex coronary artery completely eliminated vagal-induced prolongation of ERP in the anterior and posterior left ventricular free wall and reduced, but did not eliminate, ERP prolongation in the septum. A large (3-cm radius) epicardial circle of phenol prevented vagal-induced ERP prolongation within the circle in all dogs, while a small (1-cm radius) epicardial circle of phenol failed to prevent vagal-induced ERP changes within the circle in any dog. An intermediate (2-cm radius) circle eliminated vagal effects on ERP in 13 of 18 dogs. Arcs of phenol, to duplicate the upper portion of the circle, applied sequentially from apex to base eliminated efferent vagal effects only when painted near or at the AV groove. We conclude that the majority of efferent vagal fibers enroute to innervate the anterior and posterior left ventricular epicardium cross the AV groove within 0.25-0.5 mm (depth of phenol destruction) of the epicardial surface.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

In recent years, the wearing of Islamic dress in public spaces and elsewhere has generated widespread controversy all over Europe. The wearing of the hijab and other Islamic veils has been the subject of adjudication before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) on many occasions. The most recent case before the ECtHR as to the prohibition on wearing the hijab is Lachiri v Belgium. In this case, the ECtHR held that a prohibition on wearing the hijab in the courtroom constitutes an infringement of Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), which guarantees the right to freedom of religion or belief. From the perspective of religious freedom, the ruling of the Strasbourg Court in Lachiri is very significant for many reasons. The purpose of this comment is critically to analyse the ECtHR's decision in Lachiri from the standpoint of religious liberty.

The increasing attention which has been given to social history of science and to the sociological analysis of scientific activity has resulted in a renewed interest in scientific controversies. Furthermore, the rejection of the presentist view of history, according to which those contestants who took what we can identify, with the benefit of modern knowledge, as the ‘right’ stand in a controversy, were right and their opponents were ‘wrong’, left the subject of scientific controversies with many questions. What determines their emergence, course and resolution? When Froggatt and Nevin wrote on the Bio-metric-Mendelian controversy in 1971 they called their article ‘descriptive rather than interpretative’, so they avoided the very questions we would like to ask. Provine, in the same year, concentrated on the strong personalities of the contestants, their clashes, and the scientific arguments in play. But in 1975 Mackenzie and Barnes argued that the controversy could not be accounted for unless recourse was had to sociological factors. Their view has become widely known and figured prominently in 1982 in Steven Shapin's recital of the empirical achievements of the application of the sociological approach. I have returned to this subject because I do not yet feel altogether convinced by Mackenzie and Barnes' analysis. Even if their analysis of the controversy between Pearson and Bateson be accepted, it is not so obvious how effectively it can be used to explain the controversy between Weldon and Bateson, and I am not confident that it is adequate for an understanding of the evolution of their differing views of the mechanism of evolution.
