This paper investigates social interaction, the meaning of messages and,  human actions are activities based on certain symbols. This research focuses on the Sirih pinang tradition of the people of the Atoni Pah Meto tribe. Sirih Pinang has a role in the fundamental cultural symbols in the life of social courtesy and social interaction. Using the Symbolic Interaction Theory Herbert Blumer (1986), this study explains the symbolic function and meaning of Sirih Pinang which will be useful for everyone in establishing social, economic, educational and,  political relations with the Atoni Pah Meto tribe, also for the Atoni Pah Meto community. This study uses a qualitative method with participant observation. Three Indigenous Elders who have in-depth knowledge of this tradition were critical informants in the study. Participant observations were carried out in the field by living and living with the Atoni Pah Meto tribe during the survey in the Kefetoran Aplal North Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The results of this study indicate a relationship between the Sirih Pinang symbol and the local religious beliefs of ancestral heritage. In ritual communication to honor the spirits of sirih pinang is a symbol that has ethical values ​​and meaning. Sirih Pinang is included in unifying tribal members and in breaking up as a practice of various forms of communication that has the value and meaning of family and friendship. Furthermore, humans modify the meaning, the result of developing social interaction. Sirih Pinang is used as a tool for negotiation, lobbying, and enters the realm of political communication and then experiences a shift in meaning.  Keywords: Symbolic Interaction Theory, Intracultural Communication, Atoni Pah Meto Tribe,   Indonesian Culture, Sirih Pinang.

This study aims to determine the social interaction of Lazis Darul Hikam and the community through Instagram social media and to find out the role of social media Instagram in building awareness of donation in Lazis Darul Hikam. The research uses symbolic interaction theory to photograph how people interact using social media, define the meaning of the symbols conveyed and ultimately lead to actions in this case giving donations. The method used is a qualitative method, the donor Lazis Darul Hikam, an active user of Instagram, is an informant in this study. The results showed that social media has the following roles: (1) Instagram is a medium for inter-institutional interaction with the community to introduce programs and reporting media, (2) Instagram social media is also able to build awareness of donations by collecting funds obtained through social media.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi sosial Lazis Darul Hikam dan masyarakat melalui media sosial Instagram serta untuk mengetahui peran media sosial Instagram membangun kesadaran berdonasi di Lazis Darul Hikam.  Penelitian menggunakan teori interaksi simbolik untuk memotret bagaimana masyarakat berinteraksi menggunakan media sosial, mendefinisikan makna dari simbol-simbol yang disampaikan dan akhirnya bermuara pada perbuatan dalam hal ini memberikan donasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif, donatur Lazis Darul Hikam pengguna aktif Instagram menjadi informan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa media sosial memiliki peran sebagai berikut: (1) Instagram menjadi media untuk berinteraksi antar lembaga dengan masyarakat untuk memperkenalkan program dan media pelaporan, (2) Media sosial Instagram juga mampu membangun kesadaran berdonasi dengan terkumpulnya dana yang didapatkan melalui media sosial

The phenomenon of women's movements is still not common in the ears of Indonesian society, but in fact the previous women's struggles have brought freedom over their rights to women today. So that the existence of women is no longer considered low. Because women are present in every line, both in education, politics and socially. This study, with the "Study of the Construction of the Meaning of Women Movement for KOPRI in Karawang Regency" uses a qualitative method and a phenomenological approach, because in this study the researcher wants to find out a problem and also a phenomenon that comes from the experience of the informants directly experienced, and also looking to find out about the motives, meanings and experiences of female movements. The theories used in this research are Symbolic Interaction Theory, Phenomenology Theory, and Social Reality Construction Theory which is the basis for researchers in conducting this research. The results obtained after obtaining data from informants regarding the meaning of women's movements according to their point of view are when women can provide benefits and also when women are the spearhead of civilization. The meaning they express is based on their experiences who have carried out humanitarian actions such as raising funds and volunteering for disasters and also opening a reading room as a means of reading for the people of Karawang in the hope of arousing the spirit of reading the Karawang people.Keywords: Phenomenon, Female Movement, Meaning.

Symbolic interactions are interactions with others where communication and participation play a very important role. Symbolic interaction theory focuses on the importance of self-concepts and perceptions of individuals based on interactions with other individuals. Symbolic interactionism plays an important role in After Sales activities. After sales is one of the activities to satisfy customers on a product. The purpose of After Sales Activities at PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia aims to increase customer satisfaction and add Company Profit. After Sales plays a very important role in the automotive world, because After Sales can maintain good relations in the long run between the Company and Customers. After Sales is in the form of service, warranty and others. PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia is one of the automotive companies that have excellent After Sales. In carrying out activities After Sales Theory of symbolic interaction of mind, self, and society plays an important role. This study uses a qualitative methodology with the Case Study method. Data collection was done by in-depth interviews with a team from PT. Wahana Wirawan,, participant observation, Documentation and archive record. The conclusion of this research is in conducting After Sales activities, PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia has 8 stages consisting of Proactive Contact Program (PCP), Appointment, Reception, Job Progress Control, Service Work, Quality Control, Vehicle Submission, and Follow Up. At this stage there is the Symbolic Interaction theory of Mind, Self, and Society. This After Sales activity or process is to increase Customer Satisfaction.Interaksi Simbolik adalah interaksi dengan orang lain dimana komunikasi dan partisipasi memegang peranan sangat penting. Teori interaksi simbolik berfokus kepada pentingnya konsep diri dan persepsi yang dimiliki individu berdasarkan interaksi dengan individu lainnya. Interaksi simbolik berperan penting dalam kegiatan After Sales. After sales adalah salah satu kegiatan untuk memuaskan pelanggan pada suatu produk. Tujuan Kegiatan After Sales pada PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan dan menambahkan profit perusahaan. After Sales berperan sangat penting di dalam dunia Otomotif, karena After Sales ini dapat menjaga hubungan baik dalam jangka panjang antara Perusahaan dengan Pelanggan. After Sales ini berupa pelayanan Service, Garansi, dan lain-lain. PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia adalah salah satu perusahaan otomotif yang memiliki After Sales sangat baik. Dalam melakukan kegiatan After Sales Teori Interaksi simbolik mind, self, dan society berperan penting. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif dengan metode Studi Kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dengan tim dari PT. Wahana Wirawan, Observasi partisipan, Dokumentasi, dan Rekaman Arsip. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah dalam melakukan kegiatan After Sales, PT. Nissan Motor Indonesia memiliki 8 tahapan yang terdiri dari Proactive Contact Program (PCP), Appointment, Penerimaan, Job Progress Control, Pekerjaan servis, Kontrol kualitas, Penyerahan kendaraan, dan Follow Up. Pada tahapan tersebut terdapat teori Interaksi Simbolik dari Mind, Self, dan Society. Kegiatan atau proses After Sales ini untuk meningkatkan Kepuasan Pelanggan.

Sumane bewawӧ hasi is one of the rituals in the funeral ceremony originating from the Nias Tribe that is engaged in by the people in ӧri To’ene, ӧri Mazinӧ, and ӧri Onolalu in South Nias. This study aimed to determine the symbolic meaning of each of the series of rituals to do with the giving of sumane bewawӧ hasi. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method and symbolic interaction theory. The data collection in this study consisted of interviews, observations, and documentation techniques. Furthermore, the data analysis used data reduction, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. The result of this research shows that sumane bewawӧ hasi is a symbolic act that specifically aims to pay homage to the parents or ancestors as a symbol of separation. It can also involve famolakhӧmi ya’ira sofulo (glory/dignity of the community) and appreciation of the people attending the funeral. This ritual also aims to strengthen the kinship in the family (fahasara dӧdӧ si fatifusӧ) as a form of togetherness, celebrating the involvement of the entire extended family in the implementation of the religious and familial events. The implementation process consists of several stages: orahua sifatalifusӧ, fame’e sumane and the implementation of hӧlihӧli Sumane.

Pandan war is one of the important ceremonies and obligatory ceremonies called Usaba Sambah in the people of Tenganan Pegringsingan to God in manifestation as Dewa Indra. To raise three problems, namely (1) the form of pandan war , (2)axiology of  theology social of pandan war, and (3) the implications of pandan war.This study carried out qualitatively, so that data analysis was carried out in a qualitative and interpretative descriptive manner. By using research methods, such as participatory observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation studies. The results showed that: (1) The process of pandan war was one of the most important and obligatory parts of the religious ceremony in the Usaba Sambah ceremony in Tenganan Pegringsingan Village (2) The axiology of social theology in pandan war is (a) pandan war as a form of worship; (b) pandan war as a life learning process; (c) pandan war as a pattern of social interaction; (d) pandan war as a defense of religious traditions; and (e) the pandan war as a show of the ancient warrior knight. (3) the implication of pandan war in the usaba sambah ceremony is (a) increasing the śraddhā and the devotion of the peregraningan community; (b) fostering a sense of togetherness between low income communities; (c) strengthen in maintaining the local historical genius; (d) the interaction of communication between communities is established; (e) applying the value of ancestral heritage as a living foundation; and (f) pandan war as the development of cultural tourism destinations. The research findings are as follows. From the perspective of religious theory, the symbol system used in pandan war is maintained especially the concept of pingit (secret). The concept of pingit in pandan war is when the pesangkepan is not allowed to pray / spells known by anyone other than pemangku. In this case, it should only be known by the designated party only. From the perspective of the value theory, it was found that the pandanus war is a sacred dance of offerings, which should not be danced by others which is only carried out on pandanus war on the first day at Bale Petemu Kaja and not in any place. Based on symbolic interaction theory, a shift in meaning of pandan war arises from social interaction between local communities, shifting to global community interaction through warfare on the second day as a venue for tourism promotion in modern tourism contractions. There are other people (not the Tenganan people) who also participated in many pandan wars on the stage performance.
