Writing skill is an important part of communication, which helps people express ideas, experiences, and feeling exactly. Good writing skill allows them to communicate their message with clarity and ease to a far larger audience than through face-to-face or telephone conversations. However, students often face some difficulties when writing. This survey research presents the process of the study of “Difficulties in writing essays of English majored sophomores at Tay Do University”. It was conducted to find out some difficulties in learning writing of 53 sophomores from 12A and 12B classes at Tay Do University. The questionnaire, interview questions, and essay samples were instruments of this research. The results showed that sophomores had many difficulties in writing essays such as vocabulary, grammar structures, idea arrangement, background knowledge, and others. Writing is an important skill in English that helps people express thoughts, emotion and viewpoint to readers. However, students face some difficulties when writing. Hence, the survey research presents the process of the study about “Difficulties in writing an essay of English-majored sophomores at Tay Do University, in Viet Nam”. It was conducted to find out some difficulties in learning writing (from 200 to 250 - word essay) of 102 the sophomores from Bachelor of English 10 at Tay Do University. Questionnaire, paper interview and essay samples were the instruments of the study. The results showed that sophomores had many problems in writing such as vocabulary, grammar structures, ideas arrangement, background knowledge, and others. Basing on the results, some solutions would be suggested to help students to get a good writing skill. Viết là một kỹ năng quan trọng trong tiếng Anh giúp người viết thể hiện suy nghĩ, cảm xúc và quan điểm với người đọc. Tuy nhiên, sinh viên thường gặp một số khó khăn khi viết. Do đó, nghiên cứu “Khó khăn khi viết bài luận của sinh viên năm thứ hai chuyên ngành Ngôn Ngữ Anh tại Trường Đại học Tây Đô, Việt Nam” được thực hiện nhằm tìm ra một số khó khăn khi học môn viết (bài luận từ 200 đến 250 từ) của 102 sinh viên Cử nhân Tiếng Anh năm thứ hai, khóa 10 của Trường Đại học Tây Đô. Công cụ nghiên cứu gồm bảng câu hỏi, phỏng vấn trên giấy và phân tích bài luận. Kết quả cho thấy sinh viên năm thứ hai gặp nhiều vấn đề về viết như từ vựng, cấu trúc ngữ pháp, sắp xếp ý tưởng, kiến thức nền tảng và những vấn đề khác. A teacher can use many ways to make students easier to study writing. Mind-mapping is a way to solve problems in writing. This technique is chosen since it has many advantages. The main benefit is that it uses both halves of the brain which makes it easier to remember. Moreover, making mind-mapping is a creative process and a natural way to organize the thoughts and it is widely believed to ease a pathway towards successful communication. Nursing students mostly do not pay attention to their writing skill. There are some indications which show the students’ poor ability in writing, such as; the students do not organize their writing well, their ideas are not coherence, they do not use right tenses in the right context, they have lack of vocabulary and their understanding of mechanic is low. They also think that time for writing is limited. Because of these, they become unmotivated and have low interest in writing. Some students even give up and do not try to solve their problem. In this paper, the writer wants to describe the use of mind-mapping technique to build up a good writing practice as an alternative teaching learning process and to activate the students’ participation in the classroom.   Keywords: Mind-Mapping Technique, Writing Skill.

<p>The aims of this research are to know about the use of flashcards to improve the English Young Learners’ writing skills. English has four skills to be learned; they are listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and writing skill is the most difficult skill to be taught and learnt. Flashcards are one of the ways to improve the learners’ skill, especially EYL writing skill. The participants of this research are English Young Learners (EYL) in of the English Course at Gading Serpong, Tangerang. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was used as the method of the research and the English Young Learners’ (EYL) story paper are used as the instruments of the research. The results of the research are: (1) Most learners were excited when they are asked to see the colorful flashcard; (2) Learners who have good writing skill could make the story by completing the missing words and answer the questions then arrange the answer sentences well and (3) Learners who are not really master in writing, got some difficulties not only in completing the missing words but also answering then arranging the answer sentences well.</p>

The rapid development of the tourism industry in Indonesia has also contributed to the intense level of competition among tourism destination and their supporting industries. Marketers are required to be smarter in determining the promotion tool and marketing strategies of their businesses. This survey research aims to improve understanding of the characteristics and travelling behavior from two different market segments namely Generation X (born 1965-1980) and Generation Y or Millennial Generation (born 1981-2000). Data collection techniques were carried out by triangulation, namely literature review, questionnaires and interviews face to face directly and through WhatssApp. The sample of respondents used was 162 Gen-X and 244 Gen-Y selected purposively, by distributing questionnaires during February 2020 to visitors who have traveled to the city of Bogor. Data analysis was performed descriptively qualitative. The result from this survey research in this case study is that Gen-X and Gen-Y have many similarities in terms of characteristics and travel behavior. Significant differences in the two generations are in the 3 attributes of Respondent Characteristics (gadget usage time per day, social media preferences used, travel budget) and Travel Behavior in the aspects of Initiation, Decision Making, When Traveling and Post-Traveling.

The examples analyzed in classic RT pertain to face-to-face communication, that is, a situation in which one communicator speaks to a single addressee standing next to her. The shift from this situation to mass-communication affects several dimensions of RT. In this chapter, the central RT tenet that relevance is always relevance to an individual is discussed in light of the fact that mass-communicative audiences consist of (very) many individuals. Concepts affected pertain to the recognition and fulfillment of the communicative and informative intention and to the cognitive environment (≈ background knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, etc.) of the numerous individuals in the envisaged audience, who after all may not share the ideological assumptions of the communicator. Moreover, mass-communication is usually mediated. Some of the technical, financial, institutional, and ideological consequences of mediated mass-communication for RT are sketched.

Measuring the southern contribution to the Democratic coalition is an important task. To measure this contribution one must choose appropriate data and the appropriate unit of analysis for studying party coalitions in the United States. Two recent studies of party coalitions use the National Election Studies to estimate the southern contribution to the Democratic party, and these studies illustrate the problems one may encounter. This note demonstrates two points. First, survey research results may lead to erroneous estimates and it is preferable, where possible, to rely upon official election statistics. Second, the contribution of demographic groups to party coalitions should be assessed within the context of the political rules that make such coalitions meaningful.

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar os resultados de uma “aula-oficina” realizada entre os meses de outubro e novembro de 2018, com alunos (as) dos 3ºs anos do Ensino Médio da escola Antônio Xavier da Silveira, situado no município de Irati-PR. Esta atividade, intitulada “Projeto História & Cidade – História Local” foi vinculada ao Programa Residência Pedagógica e contou com a participação de 109 estudantes desta instituição de ensino. A atividade em questão contou com seis horas aulas presenciais para a realização da oficina, que se dividiu entre duas para explicações teórico-metodológicas sobre o tema central, duas horas aula para a apresentação dos (as) alunos (as) dos resultados de suas pesquisas e, por fim, duas para a devolutiva das pesquisas.Palavras-chave: Ensino de História, Residência Pedagógica, Aula-oficina.AbstractThe objective of this study is to analyze the results of a "workshop class" held between October and November, with students from the 3rd year of High School of the Antônio Xavier da Silveira school, located in the municipality of Irati- PR. This activity, titled "Project History & City - Local History" was linked to the Pedagogical Residence Program and had the participation of 109 students from this educational institution. The activity in question counted on five hours of face-to-face classes for the workshop, which was divided between two for theoretical-methodological explanations on the central theme, two hours for students to present their research results and, finally, one for the return of the research.Keywords: History teaching, Pedagogical Residence, Classroom-workshop.

The main purpose of the article is to investigate how coaching itself affects a person and evaluate it as an effective tool. The second goal is to find out what the features of coaching with use of an AI based assistant are. The problem of studying the effectiveness of coaching is indicated by the purpose of finding out, based on the results of the work in the session, to what extent the result obtained will lead the respondent to specific actions. To this end, the main measurable metrics were stress level, willingness to act, and clarity regarding the request. The study confirmed that the majority of sessions had a “positive” dynamic in at least one of the consciousness components (increase of clarity or willingness to act and decrease of stress). The key implication is that it is important to keep a coachee away from stress to create space for clarity and willingness to act. The research results show that an AI-based tool is more effective in new requests with high importance for a client regarding willingness to act and clarity, confidential requests in terms of privacy and sensitivity regarding clarity. A coach is perceived as overall stronger in usefulness, effectiveness and stress reduction. Analyzing the results of the coach-AI-assistant interaction, the study shows that AI broadens the vision of coaches. From the point of view of the threat of the coach-bot interaction, there is a bottleneck that emerged during the feedback process during the study. In several sessions, coaches were not able to develop an emotional connection well enough through written dialogue – due to the absence of face-to-face contact. One of the key outcomes regarding the “client-coach” interaction is the high importance of emotional contact.

Abstract Background: Recent research on customers’ loyalty mostly focuses on several indicators, such as price, income and promotion. However, the level of income and its impacts on customers' loyalty have not been investigated in greater details. Objectives: The main goal of this research is to investigate how different levels of income influence customers' loyalty. Methods/Approach: This paper tries to investigate customers' attitudes towards selected loyalty determinants, based on the survey research. Results: Several different factors which influence customers' loyalty are identified. Research results confirmed that the level of income has a significant influence on customers’ attitude towards loyalty determinants in Croatia. Conclusions: Besides the scientific contribution, this research on customers’ loyalty also has practical implications important when undertaking further steps for developing conceptual models of customers’ loyalty.

This article is concerned with two of the most important variables existing in any system of human relationships: frequency of interaction and sentiment or attitude. There have been many studies of the connections between interactions and sentiment in face-to-face relations. Much of this work has been in carefully designed "laboratory" experiments, in which interaction can be measured and sentiment inferred with considerable accuracy. Homans' hypotheses concerning the influences of interaction and sentiment upon each other have also been tested in a variety of industrial situations, most notably by Homans himself in his analysis of "the bank wiring observation room" and of "The Electrical Equipment Company." The Human Relations Program of the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan has contributed further to our understanding of how sentiment and interaction are interrelated in industry, especially in the recent monograph by Seashore.
