Ideas fuel power, giving means, understanding and arguments to the public sphere. Think tanks are the most influential actors in creating and disseminating such ideas in the field of international relations. This article analyses the networks of relations among think tanks in order better to understand their nature and the ways in which they operate in a global reality, organized by geographical areas. The research method is by structural analysis, using raw data collected on Twitter. Most of the think tanks selected are those categorized by the gotothinktank.com study. The main conclusions are that English is the predominant language, that geography still matters in influencing ideas and that us-based think tanks lead the social media conversation.

The issue of being pro-gender is still a controversial topic to be debated in Indonesian society. However, in the 21st Century, many women have been able to break through barriers and participate in the public sphere. It is a form of self-existence as proposed by Simone de Beauvoir on existentialist feminism. Based on these problems, this study aims to find out and answer questions about how Indonesian women exist in the public sphere in the 21st Century and find out how Indonesian women exist in the public sphere through Simone de Beauvoir's existentialist feminism paradigm. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative through a literature review of 23 journal articles, websites, and data reports with a range of 2019-2021. This study found that based on Simone de Beauvoir's feminist paradigm, Indonesian women in the 21st Century are no longer a figure other than complete. Furthermore, the data collected by the researcher shows that several gender indicators have shown that Indonesian women have been able to occupy public spaces in various aspects. Based on these results, it is hoped that it can provide information about Simone de Beauvoir's existentialist feminism thought and its relevance to the existence of Indonesian women in the public sphere in the 21st Century. However, this research has limitations, those are only about women in Indonesia, and the paradigm of feminism is limited to Simone de Beauvoir's existentialist feminism.

The focus of my study is to devise tolerance limits in the Javanese empan papan philosophy frame. This study is important because there are many incidents of oppression between groups in Indonesia. Indonesia has a variety of diversity, such as religion, culture and ethnicity. That diversity creates boundaries in building a life together in Indonesia. I used a library research method about Javanese philosophy of empan papan and dialogued it with Richard Rorty's thoughts. Four board is widely understood people must consider the location, condition and situation carefully. You can't just talk and act. Javanese humans place knowledge in the way they are in the expression of ngelmu kanti laku (knowledge by doing-being in action, and words that are realized). The philosophy of the empan papan was dialogue with Richard Rorty's thoughts about ironic humans, ironic liberal people and multicultural communitarian politics. This research brings together East-West tolerance limits, confirming Richard Rorty's thoughts. Limits of tolerance must be institutionalized through a consensus of public opinion that is built up dialogically. This is very possible because Javanese people are adaptive to empan papan. Javanese people respect the independence of each individual but at the same time place it in the public sphere. Javanese man never puts his self-awareness alone, always in his existence along with other subjects.

The issue of conflicts of memory is one of the more clearly outlined areas in contemporary Polish discourses of memory. One of its manifestations is Herstory, which involves discovering the forgotten history of women and restoring their rightful place in the public sphere, which also translates directly into issues of social and national identity, and historical policy. In the article we try to decide whether and to what extent herstory as a research approach create a caesura in the memory studies? We put the thesis about the existence of two oppositional currents – the alternative and radical turns of memory, and we are proving that herstory does not so much fit into this opposition as it functions across it, building pluralist discourse. Due to the specific nature of the data used in the text and their transdisciplinary nature, and given the anthropological and political research perspectives that are close to us, we base our research and conclusions on Gadamer’s hermeneutics, without which it is difficult to speak of both interpretationism and herstory itself.

Chapter 2 offers a critical review of three systemic accounts of deliberative democracy, focusing on their assumptions about democratic connectivity. It draws attention to the ‘communicative miracles’ that lie at the heart of each deliberative system account—‘miracles’ that are out of step with contemporary disconnects experienced in the representative process, in the public sphere itself, and along the policy process. The chapter shows that these ‘communicative miracles’ are not only theoretical blind spots, but also practical obstacles hindering deliberative democracy from speaking more directly to, and serving as a richer resource for, democratic renewal. The chapter calls for a more empirically informed account of connectivity in contemporary public deliberation, one that is grounded in the work and agency of those involved in making or strengthening connectivity. It argues that an abductive research approach that employs interpretive methods is particularly well suited for developing such empirically informed accounts of connectivity. The chapter concludes by making the case for the close study of contemporary political practices, especially focused on how diverse actors are experiencing democratic disconnects, and what actions they are taking to mend them.

The public sphere in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic experienced significant dynamics, because public sphere which is a shared property space as an arena for sharing public opinion is limited, especially in the Islamic view which emphasizes avoiding the plague. Moving away from the Covid-19 outbreak means staying away from the crowd as a form of priority to avoid danger. This study aims to describe public space in different circumstances amid a pandemic in an Islamic and multicultural perspective. The research method used is literature study through indepth analysis in parsing the problem in accordance with the term of research. The results of the research showed that public space in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic experienced a shift in function to become a virtual public sphere. The phenomenon of public sphere in Islamic view and multicultural communication is normatively direct and threatening during the pandemic because it risks inviting a crowd so that many virtual-based spaces become active and effective spaces as dimensions of public sphere in the Covid-19 pandemic era.
