Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the different personal opinions about physical education classes received by the university and Post Compulsory Secondary Education students, and show whether there have been changes over time. Starościak Wojciech, Dębska Urszula, Guła-Kubiszewska Halina, Designing professional career by students – physical education teachers. „Kultura – Społeczeństwo – Edukacja” nr 2(14) 2018, Poznań 2018, pp. 183–203, Adam Mickiewicz University Press. ISSN 2300-0422. DOI 10.14746/kse.2018.14.14. The study identified physical education students’ opinions about and vision of personal career. It was conducted with a questionnaire designed by A. Cybal-Michalska for planning career prospects and career development in modern society by academic youth. Results demonstrate the professional expectations of the sample to be largely met. Students of the University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw are oriented towards individualistic and collectivistic values to a similar extent. Both groups are moderately satisfied with study choices and have a realistic outlook on the difficulties in finding a job consistent withtheir education. They assess the prospect of a satisfactory career on an equally moderate level, although individualist-oriented students perceive significantly fewer ways of achieving professional success. Collectivistic students emphasize values characteristic of a safe future and working with people and for people. Individualistic students are geared towards innovative and creative activities. Students perceive their careers in the psychological dimension, and select lifestyle and professionalism as the lead guides in career development.

This work is part of the project “Determining factors in the reading habits of Secondary Education students. A study from the variables of the educational context” (PR2017040), financed by the Own Research Plan of the University of Cadiz. The main objective of the study is focused on analyzing those determining factors that affect the formation of new readers in the school in a global and integrating way. Taking as a reference the idea of the ecosystem or ecological environment of Bronfenbrenner (2001), an analogy is made with the educational system and the agents that intervene in the reading habits of adolescents in their educational stage of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO). These approaches were used to review a Questionnaire on Reading Habits, which the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport presented in an ambitious Plan to Promote Reading in 2001 and to adapt it to the needs of the PR2017040 Project. The conclusions illustrate that this complex issue of reading habits cannot be studied with a questionnaire as the only research instrument, since it is necessary to give voice to the different agents that participate in the process and, therefore, agree with Molina et al. (2011) in proposing the design research model to understand and improve the educational reality through the consideration of natural contexts in all their complexity.

As one of the protagonists in education, the perspective of the students is fundamental in the determination of inclusive education in an educational center. The Index for Inclusion is an instrument and strategy for self-evaluation. One of their questionnaires, the questionnaire for compulsory secondary education students, is intended for students and has become one of the most used instruments to help teaching teams to self-assess their political and practical cultures from the perspective of the values and principles of educational inclusion worldwide. Some of the questionnaires included in the Index have been used in many studies, mainly in a qualitative way. For this reason, the present study intends to show evidence of validity of the Index for Inclusion questionnaire of students in a quantitative way through an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). In this study, 727 secondary school students (359 boys and 368 girls) aged between 13 and 19 years (M = 13.89; SD = 1.35) took part. They belonged to six educational centers in the province of Almeria. To analyze the temporal stability of the Index for Inclusion student questionnaire, a second independent sample of 81 secondary school students was used, aged between 15 and 18 years (M= 16.14; SD = 0.78). The results revealed adequate adjustment rates, showing the invariant structure with respect to gender. The Student Inclusion Index was shown to be a robust and adequate psychometric instrument to assess the degree of development of inclusive education in schools from the perspective of secondary school students, and therefore, its future application to students in schools is recommended.

The significance of post-secondary education is investigated for rural Newfoundland women enrolled in undergraduate liberal arts degree programs. Data collection for this research involved comprehensive, detailed semistructured biographical interviews with rural women studying liberal arts disciplines during the 2006–2007 academic year at Memorial University of Newfoundland. The data analyses drew on theories of experiential and embodied knowledge, social constructionist theories of gender and place, and research on women, rurality, and post-secondary education. The findings indicate that, overall, a liberal arts degree is a part of a search for a new home for the women interviewed. Images and experiences of life as women in rural Newfoundland act as forces that push and pull the women to and from their homes, with varying impact. Although the women were very pleased with their choice of a liberal arts major, for most this choice did not dominate the significance of enrolling in university.

The main purpose of the research was to figure out which was the level of comprehension of the didactic concepts that the students of the Secondary Education Master of the University of Alicante of the academic year 2011/12 had. With this purpose, we have collected the information provided by the answers of 227 students to an ad-hoc-elaborated semi-structured questionnaire whose data have been treated with a quantitative methodology using the SPSS.19 device. The statistic techniques were descriptive, differential and correlational. In this analysis, we take into account the scores obtained by students in variables related to their learning process and their attitudes towards it. The most interesting results prove that the students don’t master the basic didactic concepts in a satisfactory way, there are differences between the levels of comprehension and other variables related to the learning of the concepts and with attitudinal variables of this learning. The research based on these results indicates the need to focus the teaching and learning processes of the Master from a different point of view and combining the strategies which enhance the understanding of these concepts by the students. Key words: concept comprehension, didactic training, pre-service teacher education, Secondary Education Master.

The aim of the study was to identify the attitudes of vocational education students at Al-Balqa Applied University towards enrollment in their academic specialization from their perception, relating them to variables such as gender, the student’s academic year, and academic rating. A descriptive approach was used with a questionnaire which comprised 33 items that measured the students' attitudes towards the vocational education specialization. The study comprised 221 male and female students to whom the questionnaire was distributed in the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020. The study found that the students' attitudes towards the vocational education specialization for the instrument as a whole were positive: 24 items obtained positive attitude scores and 9 items showed an average attitude. It was found that there were no statistically significant differences among vocational-education students’ attitudes towards their enrollment in their academic specialization in terms of the study variables: gender; the student’s academic year (first and second year, third and fourth year); or academic rating (acceptable, good, very good, and excellent). It was also found that there were no statistically significant differences among the vocational education students' attitudes towards their enrollment in their academic specialization. These differences are attributed to the study variables: gender, academic year, and academic rating. It is recommended that: the study plan should be developed to be more comprehensive, and incorporates a diversity of experiences, knowledge, and activities to achieve differentiation of the student's personality. This requires the university and the college to provide diverse and flexible activities to suit the characteristics of students in light of the principles of respecting, meeting and satisfying their inclinations and desires.
