There are two aims of this paper: first to analyze the responsibility of the government in the commitment to protect the rights of indigenous and tribal peoples in natural resource management activities; secondly, to analyze the implementation of government responsibilities in mining management in relation to the rights of indigenous and tribal peoples in enjoying their rights in the ecosystem, such as the environment. The method used in the research is empirical normative method, namely research that emphasizes the secondary data that is by studying and reviewing the principles of law and positive law principles derived from the existing literature materials in legislation and the provisions especially in relation to the exclusion of indigenous people's rights in the obligation of the state to create a healthy environment for the management of natural resources as a manifestation of human rights protection, and supplemented by empirical data in the form of interviews with related parties in Balaesang Tanjung Donggala District. The results show that natural resource management activities, linked to indigenous and tribal peoples' rights in environmental protection are regulated in various laws, both nationally and internationally. Implementation of government responsibility in mining management is related to the right of customary law community in enjoying the environment has not been optimally done. From the case of Balaesang Tanjung Donggala, it is envisaged that local governments ignore the rights of indigenous and tribal peoples in enjoying a healthy environment.

Natural resources are important for human beings to sustain life on earth. However, continuous use of natural resources by the human beings, had affected the earth. There is need to manage our natural resources to improve the sustainability of the natural resources. Women have always come to forward to conserve and protect natural resources because they are the primary users of natural resources traditionally as well as modern. In this paper, A scale has been developed and standardized that can be used to measure the role of farm women towards natural resource management activities. The scale was developed by using the technique of “Scale Product Method” which combines the Thurston’s technique of equal appearing interval scale for selection of the items and Likert’s technique of summated rating for ascertaining the response on the scale. A total of 78 Natural Resource Management (NRM) activities were selected. Based on Scale (median) value and Q value, 72 Natural Resource Management (NRM) was selected to measure the role of farm women towards natural resource management activities. The co-efficient of reliability was calculated by the Rulon’s formula i.e. 0.81 and the content validity was observed thoroughly. The reliability and validity of the scale indicate its consistency and precision of the results. This scale can be used to measure the role of farm women in natural resource management activities.

The title of this study is The Role of Customs Dayak Keninjal and Melayu in the Conflict Management of Natural Resources in the Tanah Pinoh Melawi. This study was conducted using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Data collection tools such as questionnaires and interview guides. The study was conducted during three months in 2015. An important finding of this study is that the population in the district of Tanah Pinoh majority is Dayak Keninjal and Malay. The role of customs is still quite important as the norm will be retained in regulating social life, culture and the human relationship with nature and the environment. They still recognize the term customary rights. They call tanah perompai. They still considers that the forest is part of the lives of its people. Therefore, even if there are changes of forest into plantations, they still hope that the forest areas are strategic and holy places should not be tampered with in order to remain preserved. In the context of conflict resolution that is in society, the role of traditional leaders such as Temenggungs for Dayak and Penggawa's for Malay still important. Settlement of the issue resolved in stages in accordance with the large-small problem, and the complexity of the problems encountered. If complicated then used government law. However, people often use customary law by way of deliberation and consensus.

SummaryNatural resource-related conflicts between local communities and nation states can be extremely destructive. Worldwide, interest is growing in gaining a better understanding of why and how these conflicts originate, particularly in protected areas inhabited by local communities. The literature on local attitudes towards and perceptions of park conservation and park–people conflicts is quite extensive. Studies have examined the socioeconomic and geographical determinants of attitudes to protected areas. However, the role of such determinants in the experience of park–people conflicts has received considerably less attention. Drawing on 601 interviews with people living in or near 15 Colombian national protected areas (NPAs), we examine the socioeconomic and geographical variables that are most influential in people’s experience of conflict related to restricted access to natural resources. We find that the experience of this type of conflict is largely explained by the NPA where a person resides, pursuit of productive activities within the NPA, previous employment in NPA administration, gender and ethnicity. We recommend implementing socially inclusive conservation strategies for conflict prevention and resolution in Colombia’s NPAs, whereby both women and men from different ethnic groups are engaged in design and implementation.

Natural resources are means to satisfy human wants which exist in natural environment and which are available without any type of human endeavour. The degradation of natural resources such as land, water, forest etc. may have an adverse impact on livelihood of rural people. The present review paper determines diverse roles of women for management of various natural resources in India. Vigorous participation of women in decisions and activities related to conservation and well-organized utilization of renewable and non-renewable natural resources is solution of this world wide issue i.e., natural resource degradation. Over exploitation and botched utilization of natural resources can be protected in India through involvement of women in policies and programs made for natural resource management. They will also serve as a treasure of indigenous information for conserving natural resources.

Abstract Given the alarming deterioration of the environment, the present analysis investigates the role of eco-innovation, natural resources and financial development in influencing the environmental degradation of China. Applying the novel method of Quantile-ARDL, the current research is beneficial in portraying the dependence patterns of the variables with special emphasis on the nexus of eco-innovation and ecological footprint across numerous quantiles of the distribution which has not been examined so far in the literature. The empirical findings reveal that in the long run, eco-innovation reduces the level of ecological deterioration in China across all quantiles. On the other hand, the results suggest that the increase in credit to the private sector and natural resource rents augment environmental degradation. The outcomes imply that the over-dependence on natural resources and financial development can worsen the goals of sustainable development in China if the strategies of conservation and management are ignored. Moreover, witnessing the favourable role of eco-innovation, competent policies and regulations can be made towards sustainable efficient technologies and eco-friendly energy sources to halt global warming.

The article proposes to consider a “new view” on the necessary changes in the rental policy in the field of environmental management. The main stages of the rental policy have been identified and analyzed, such as transformation of socio-economic relations; role of state regulation of the rental policy. Nowadays, in a context of transformation of rental policy and socio-economic relations, state administration should form social values through the environmental use and consumption of resources and implement a saving policy on the natural resource extraction. With the help of the implementation of the collaboration mechanism, the interests of the parties to the collaborative alliance regarding the redistribution of rental income received from the natural resource extraction may be taken into account. In addition, attention was focused on the necessity of optimal distribution of rental income from the extraction of natural resources in the conditions of the collaborative alliance. The research showed that the convergence of interests in the system “state – society – fuel production enterprise” is today the priority form of cooperation in order to form the socio-environmental responsibility in the extraction and use of natural resources, to motivate behavior of the local community with the support of the scientific and expert group on the redistribution of part of the rental income on restoration and development of the territories, as well as to implement a saving policy on the use and consumption of resources in order to preserve them for future generations.

This paper examines the relationship between the development of the financial sector of the economy and natural rents. The financial sector of the economy is currently an important driver of economic growth. The study was conducted through the prism of addressing two key issues: determining the nature of the impact of natural rents on the financial development of Bangladesh; study of the role of the quality of institutional mechanisms in the relationship between natural rent and financial development of Bangladesh. The study period includes 35 years, from 1984 to 2019. The calculations were performed using an autoregressive model with a distributed lag, based on the order of integration and stationary properties of the variables of this study. The article presents the results of an empirical analysis, which showed a significant negative impact of the lease of natural resources on the financial development of Bangladesh. It is empirically confirmed that the quality of institutional mechanisms for the functioning of economic entities has a positive effect on the relationship between natural rents and the financial development of Bangladesh. The results of the study empirically confirm the hypothesis of insufficient natural resources in Bangladesh. The article emphasizes that the positive moderating role of the quality of the institutional base indicates that due to the strengthening of the institutional base, insufficient resources can become a benefit for the financial sector. The results of the study can be useful for representatives of the Government of Bangladesh from the standpoint of improving the quality of institutional infrastructure in order to ensure financial development, in which there will be positive effects from the implementation of natural resource lease processes. In the future, a study is planned to expand potential sources for the proper use of natural resource leases in Bangladesh. Keywords: natural resource rent, financial development, institutional quality, Pakistan.
