Social media is arguably the most influential force the 21st century has to offer more than the economy, politics, or anything in between; social media has greatly influenced everyone more than once. With a network of interconnected people so large over multiple platforms the force social media exerts over people has never been greater than now; social media has become the place where people share their opinions with the world for others to read, see, and hear. One example of its influence is the public perception on Covid-19, it increased the general fear of it and also decreased mental health among several users of social media; panic mostly spread among younger users, who expressed their concerns over social media (Ahmad & Murad, 2020). While social media applications have a positive influence, they also have a negative influence on their users, especially teenagers. A study conducted by Dr. Ghulam Shabir, Chairman of the Department of Media Studies at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, found that out of 279 participants, 139 agreed and 85 strongly agreed that social media has a bad influence on the participants; however, they also found that 110 of the agreed and 63 strongly agreed that social media positively influenced them (2014). With many children trying to find who they are, this study stands to find whether social media has a positive or negative effect over the psychological well-being of students in Jose Marti Mast 6-12 Academy.

Background: Although self-expressive creativity is related to cyberbullying, it can also reinforce strengths that contribute to positive adolescent development. Our study concentrated on the relationships between personality traits and self-expressive creativity in the digital domain in an adolescent population. For this, we analyzed the effect of self-esteem and emotional intelligence as assets for positive development related to personality traits and self-expressive creativity. Methods: The study population included a total of 742 adolescents that were high-school students in the province of Almería, Spain. The following instruments were used: Big Five Inventory (BFI) to evaluate the five broad personality factors, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSE), Expression, Management, and Emotion Recognition Evaluation Scale (TMMS-24), and the Creative Behavior Questionnaire: Digital (CBQD). Results: The cluster analysis revealed the existence of two profiles of adolescents based on their personality traits. The analysis showed that the group with the highest levels of extraversion and openness to experience and lowest levels of neuroticism were those who showed the highest scores in self-esteem, clarity, and emotional repair, as well as in self-expressive creativity. Higher scores in neuroticism and lower scores in extraversion and openness to experience showed a direct negative effect on self-expressive creativity and indirect effect through self-esteem and emotional attention, which acted as mediators in series. Conclusions: To counteract certain characteristics that increase adolescents’ vulnerability to social network bullying, a plan must be developed for adequate positive use of the Internet from a creative model that enables digital self-expression for acquiring identity and self-efficacy through the positive influence of peers, which promotes feelings of empowerment and self-affirmation through constructive tasks that reinforce self-esteem and emotional intelligence.

The possible relationships among creativity, intelligence, and self actualization were examined in 208 high school students to determine whether or not consistent self actualization scores existed for subjects high in the first two variables. Students high in both creativity and intelligence had significantly higher scores in self actualization than those obtained by students high in either creativity or intelligence. No significant difference in self actualization was found between students high in creativity only and those high in intelligence only. The results were interpreted as indicating that educational systems should stress both intellectual and creative abilities to achieve the highest level of psychological well being in students.

This study aims to determine the difference in affect of dimensions of sibling relationship (warmth, relative power, conflict and rivalry) on psychological well-being in senior high school students at West Jakarta. Suggestions used in this research are quantitative with correlational type. The samples were 356 high school students at West Jakarta (132 males and 224 females), age 15-17, has sibling. Determination of the sample multistage random sampling technique. Data collected by forms of an questionnaire which adapted, that is Sibling Relationship Questionnaire (SRQ) organized by Furman and Buhrmester (1990) amount 48 items, and Scale of Psychological Well-Being (SPWB) by Ryff (1989) amount 84 items. Validity test uses expert judgement and instrument testing with the Pearson’s Product Moment. Realibility test using the Cronbach Alpha with SPSS v.25 obtained the reliability coefficient SRQ is 0,916 and SPWB is 0.669. Data analyzed using Pearson’s Product Moment and the hypothesis was tested by One-Way ANOVA with SPSS v.25. The results showed that warmth dimension had a positive effect on psychological well-being of students (0,178 > 0,05), relative power dimension had a positive effect on psychological well-being of students (0,109 > 0,05), conflict dimension had a negative effect on psychological well-being of students (- 0,105 > 0,05), and rivalry dimension had a negative effect on psychological well-being of students (-0,114 > 0,05). Hypothesis test by ANOVA results that Fcount > Ftable or 4,786 > 2,39, means sibling relationship has a different effect on psychological well-being in senior high school students at West Jakarta. However, based on the results of Pearson Correlation compared to the correlational coefficient table, was found that the effect of each diomension of sibling relationship on psychological well-being of students was very low. Tukey HSD test also shows that only rivalry dimension has a different effect from the other three dimensions (warmth, relative power, conflict) on psychlogicall well-being in senior high school students at West Jakarta.

Orientation: In order to withstand the global and local cultural diversity and challenges that South African workplaces face, it is essential for employees to have cross-cultural psychological resources (i.e. cross-cultural psychological capital). A lack of cross-cultural psychological capital or the inability to adjust to cross-cultural environments may impact negatively employees’ psychological well-being.Research purpose: The purpose of this research was to explore the influence of employees’ cross-cultural psychological capital on their psychological well-being (indicated by burnout and work engagement).Motivation for the study: Cross-cultural psychological capital and its influence on employees’ psychological well-being have not been explored in South Africa. This study aimed to fill this gap.Research approach/design and method: Data were collected using questionnaires completed by 213 employees from different organisations in South Africa. Partial least squares (PLS) and structural equations modelling (SEM) were used to explore the relationships between the independent variable (cross-cultural psychological capital) and burnout and work engagement.Main findings: Cross-cultural psychological capital had a statistically significant negative influence on burnout and a statistically significant positive influence on work engagement. It had a stronger negative influence on emotional exhaustion than on cynicism and a stronger positive influence on vigour than on dedication.Practical/managerial implications: Enhancing employees’ cross-cultural psychological capital by means of programmes and short interventions may improve their psychological well-being.Contribution/value-add: This research contributed to filling the gap in the literature regarding the role of cross-cultural psychological capital in the psychological well-being of employees working in cross-cultural environments.
