The article examines the process of urbanization in Shymkent and identifies the factors influencing the process of urbanization in Shymkent. Modern models of studying the process of urbanization are analyzed: the theory of urban settlements, differential urbanization, and the theory of central places. The analysis showed that the urbanization system of Kazakhstan is developing in the context of the planned transition to a market economy, which can serve as a platform for testing the functioning of the economy. Also, a mobile application has been developed to track urbanization processes in Shymkent.

The migration of human populations from rural to urban settlements known as urbanization in its most basic sense suggests an improvement in various facets of life. Urbanization ideally should also imply an enhancement of housing quality and other components of human settlements such as power supply, portable water, good roads, proper refuse and sewage disposal facilities, maintenance of ecological balance and a reduction in environmental pollution. Globally, the urbanization process has occurred in a disorganized and nearly uncontrollable manner. The spontaneity in growth of urban settlements has affected negatively several components of the urban fabric such that these components (previously mentioned) are either severely inadequate or non-existent in majority of instances where urbanization has taken place. Arguably, the success of any urbanization process can be measured by the quality of the environments produced and the housing stock found within such environments. This paper seeks to identify and evaluate the components of urban settlements that can be used as indices for establishing quality of our housing, environments and urban clusters particularly for the Nigerian context. The research methodology is a reconnaissance survey, field observation and comparison of four main areas within Ido Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State, namely Apete, Elebu, Elenusonso and Ologuneru.Key words: Urbanization, Environmental quality indicators.

The article is devoted to the relevant topic which is assessment of the insolvency (bankruptcy) of enterprises. The instability of a complex socioeconomic system is intensifying in the market economy, which is difficult to fully study and understand. Modern business is being run in a highly competitive environment. Adequate decision-making requires a deep, comprehensive assessment of the situation and a reliable forecast of events. A firm that has managed to correctly forecast the situation receives more profit than a firm that abstained from forecasting. The firm that made the wrong forecast loses the most. The main types of models for assessment of the bankruptcy probability for enterprises and the factors influencing them in the course of making decisions have been considered in this article, and the bankruptcy probability for Megafon PJSC based on various models has been studied. A comparative analysis of the models for assessment of the bankruptcy probability for enterprises has been conducted. The methods of cognition, retrospective and documentary analysis, as well as synthesis, generalization, and systematization were used in the article

Community satisfaction is an important determinant of the perceived overall quality of life, and can be defined as a function of opportunities a community provides to its residents. Although measurable at a specific point in time, it does not only reflect current communal activities, but also past developments and their path dependency. In this paper we identify and empirically verify factors influencing community satisfaction in post-socialist urban settlements. In the process we are using the Slovenian post-socialist cities of Nova Gorica and Velenje as illustrative examples, and the average Slovenian community satisfaction in urban settlements as a benchmark. This unique combination of data allows us to derive important lessons for community residents, community planners, and local policy-makers.

The main aim of this analysis was to determine the demographic effects of the process of urbanization (as measured by the level of population concentration in, formally speaking, urban settlements) on the regional division of Serbia (made more than three decades ago) into standard zones for demographic research. Likewise, the aim of the investigation was to determine (as accurately as possible) the extent to which this scheme of regional division could be used as a basis for demographic regionalization of the territory of the Republic. This two-tier scheme divides the area of Serbia into thirty I-tier (I) zones (regions) and seven II-tier zones (regions) by combining some, usually modified, geographic criteria and (fully applying) the carefully selected strictly demographic criteria, but not applying those of the spatial-demographic character (like densities, migratory features, urbanization). Demographic effects of the process of urbanization (as a strictly demographic parameter) on this regional division were investigated only in terms of the I-tier zones and not at lower (subregional) spatial units - municipalities. The changes were analysed for the period from 1971 to 1991 only, which was estimated as representative enough for this process. Based on the investigation results, the following was concluded: - despite strong demographic effects of the process of urbanization, most standard zones for demographic research have managed to keep the relatively high degree of homogeneity, which makes the current regional division of Serbia quite acceptable with some slight modifications; - modifications of this scheme, as determined by the demographic effects of the process of urbanization, would mostly go into the direction of intra-regional changes in regions to which the major urban agglomerations of Serbia belong because, as large concentrations of population, they form a new spatial demographic structure of these zones (regions); - the modified scheme (adjusted to the actual demographic state and the structure of the zones) would represent a proper base for demographic regionalization of the Republic of Serbia.

Mobile application industry has boomed tremendously since it was first introduced in 2007 which has gain practitioners' and researchers' attention. There are substantial numbers of researches on mobile applications that have contributed to business development. This research is aimed at investigating the factors influencing individuals' purchase of mobile application. An exploratory study has been conducted to gain understanding of Malaysian's perspective on mobile application purchase intention. Unstructured interviews were conducted among 19 research participants randomly selected from different background. The results show that perceived usefulness, facilitating condition, perceived value, perceived enjoyment, perceived fee, electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM), application design in terms of features and visual, trust, security, privacy, device compatibility and device consumption in terms of power and memory relate to individual's intention to purchase mobile application.

How are urban population and its growth distributed across urban settlements of different sizes? In the Global South, this is a critical planning question, yet its answer is muddled by contradictory claims in the literature and inconsistent data. Using a new dataset measuring urbanization from 1975 to 2015, we find that urban populations in the South are less concentrated in megacities than in the North—contrary to conventional wisdom. Given an explosion in the number (not simply size) of urban settlements in the South, we suggest reviving the concept of “barefoot planning” as an approach for empowering communities beyond the metropolis to shape the urbanization process.

We substantiated the uniqueness of recreational agglomerations as a separate functional type and considered features of the process of urbanization in recreational areas with a secondary type of appearance of recreational functions. It is spoken in detail about existing scientific literature on the problems and indicated the existing “white spots” which requiring deeper scientific study. The main methodological principles are indicated, on the basis of which a subsequent deep analysis of the process of agglomeration in recreational areas was carried out. The peculiarities of the urbanization process in recreational areas with the secondary type of recreational functions appearance are considered. Basis on this we presented the author’s scheme which reflects the evolution of the urbanization process in the recreational area. The much attention is given to interrelations between the rapid development of recreational functions and agglomeration in the region. The author’s scheme of the features of the formation process of the planning structure of recreational settlements is presented, on the basis of which the analysis of the main transformations of the planning structure of coastal recreational cities in the socio-economic conditions characteristic of the historical past of the Russian Federation was carried out. We studied the main problems and internal conflicts of recreational agglomerations as complex polyfunctional systems. The nature and sources of hotbeds of tension in urban recreational centers are considered, on the basis of which their classification is derived. After we presented a detailed analysis of the identified types of conflicts and gives examples of hotbeds typical for large urban recreational centers. Based on the selected types, we give some recommendations aimed at overcoming the main problematic situations of recreational agglomerations in conclusion we indicated the possibilities of alternative ways of development of the urbanization process in recreational areas, which allow to prevent a high level of social tension in the system of settlement of recreational areas.
