Problem statement. The article describes taxis representatives in German and Dutch, which are polypropositive statements with prepositional deverbatives with taxis prepositions of temporal and circumstantial semantics. Results. The statements of two types (primary and secondary) are described, which are the core and peripheral constituents of the functional-semantic subfield of the dependent taxis in the German and Dutch languages. The core constituents include statements of the primary type with taxis prepositions of temporal semantics, while the peripheral constituents should include statements of the secondary type with taxis prepositions of circumstantial semantics. Taxis prepositions of temporal semantics mark the primary taxis semantics of simultaneity and non-simultaneity, and taxis prepositions of circumstantial semantics explicate the secondary taxis semantics of simultaneity. Conclusion. The examined statements of the primary type and of the secondary type are prototypical representatives of both primary-taxis values of simultaneity and non-simultaneity in «pure form», and secondary taxis values of simultaneity, combined with concomitant circumstantial values (conditions, concessions, purpose, mode of action, etc.).

The article considers a news text as a secondary type of text where news content undergoes modifications as a result of humorous interpretation. New trends in media coverage, which lead to a change in its format and linguistic content, are analyzed. The creation of a secondary news text / genre is shown as performed through transforming the main (primary) news text. The secondary media text belongs to the comic picture of the world, the modeling of which becomes possible due to various means of the comic which fulfill social-critical, aesthetic and entertainment functions. The empirical material of the study comprises 530 news texts telecast at the beginning of the program "Evening Urgant" on Channel One in 2017–2020. The identified mechanism of news transformation includes the use of irony, sarcasm, comic exaggeration and understatement, references to precedent phenomena, the techniques of allegory, comic dissonance and comic surprise, comic exposure, etc. The analysis of the news transformation mechanism revealed a reduction in the primary news component with a simultaneous "build-up" of a pragmatic component through the use of various means and techniques of the comic. This leads to the construction of a secondary news text, which, in turn, is characterized by a recombined semantic content and subjective interpretation of the primary news piece.

Background. Given the exposure risk of comorbidities in Mexican society, the new pandemic involves the highest risk for the population in the history. Objective. This article presents an analysis of the COVID-19 risk from Mexico's regions. Method. The study period runs from April 12 to June 29, 2020 (220,667 patients). The method has a nature applied and according to its level of deepening in the object of study it is framed in a descriptive and explanatory analysis type. The data used here has a quantitative and semi quantitative characteristic because they are the result of a questionnaire instrument made up of 34 fields and the virus test. The instrument is of a deliberate type. According to the manipulation of the variables, this research is a secondary type of practices, and it has a factual inference from an inductive method because it is emphasizing the concomitant variations for each region of the country. Results. Region 1 and Region 4 have a higher percentage of hospitalized patients, while Region 2 has a minimum of them. The average age of non-hospitalized patients is around 40 years old, while the hospitalized patients' age it is close to 55 years. The most sensitive comorbidities in hospitalized patients are three principal: obesity, diabetes mellitus and hypertension. The patients whose needed the mechanical respirator were in ranged from 7.45% to 10.79%. Conclusions. There is a higher risk of lose their lives in the Region 1 and Region 4 territories than in the Region 2, this information was dictated by the statistical analysis.

Mites in the family Trombiculidae sensu lato are parasites of terrestrial vertebrates, even humans, in their larval stage. There are more than 3,700 species of chiggers, and about one-third of these species are represented by type specimens in the Smithsonian Institution’s United States National Museum Entomology Collection. Here we provide a catalog of all primary and secondary type specimens of chiggers (holotype, paratype, syntype, lectotype, and paralectotype) housed in the collection. Listed herein are 1,026 type specimens with 645 representing holotypes, 782 paratypes, 69 syntypes, 19 lectotypes, and 16 paralectotypes of larvae, deutonymphs, and adult chiggers. <br>

Abstract Background Ameloblastic carcinoma (AC) is an odontogenic malignant tumor which is closely related to benign ameloblastoma. Because of its rarity, diagnosis and treatment are difficult. In this study, we summarized and analyzed the clinical and biological characteristics of AC. Results Fifteen patients with AC and a median age of 53 years were identified. Among of them, five patients who were tested carried a BRAF-V600E mutation. Two patients presented with cervical lymph nodes and lung metastases. Primary AC was more invasive, and the bone destruction ability of the primary type was more radical than that of the secondary type. Conclusions This study revealed that the BRAF-V600E mutation was related to the aggressive behavior of AC, and early radical resection is crucial. Moreover, targeted therapy may be a new direction in the future.

Abstract Reconciling with the prepositional object. On the influence of Vandeweghe (2011)In this paper I argue for the positive aspects of the claim in Vandeweghe (2011) that there are two types of prepositional object: a primary and a secondary type, which have a different relationship to the predicate. The most discussed consequence of this theory is that it allows a simple sentence to contain two prepositional objects provided that they have a different hierarchical status. Here I focus on sentences with only one possible secondary prepositional object and no other objects. These sentences show that a fixed preposition is not a sufficient condition for a PP to be considered a secondary prepositional object; the preposition should also be used in a non-literal, abstract way. When it is difficult to decide whether this is the case, other semantic properties have to be taken into account, such as the reciprocal character of the predicate.

Abstract Disruption of calcium homeostasis is common to all forms of hyperparathyroidism (HPT), but the underlying biochemical mechanisms that distinguish the various forms of HPT pathology remain poorly characterized. We previously have observed that the kinetics and amplitude of CASR-mediated signaling vary significantly among parathyroid (PT) adenomas and found specific functional and gene expression profiles preferentially associated with increased risk of bone density loss. While these data established a clear connection between CASR activity and clinical phenotype, a direct comparison of the kinetics of PTH secretory behavior between normal and neoplastic intact human PT tissue has yet to be performed. Utilizing eucalcemic normal human organ donor tissues (n=3) as a reference standard, we examined a series of cryopreserved live PT tissue specimens obtained from patients with primary (n=9), secondary (n=12) and tertiary (n=5) HPT. PT tissue fragments matched for viability, mass, and cellular content were placed on permeable membranes and exposed to a series of extracellular calcium concentrations over equivalent time intervals of challenge and normocalcemic recovery to interrogate dynamic PTH secretory induction or suppression. As expected, normal tissue exhibited a sigmoid response curve indicative of allosteric calcium-mediated inhibition, with a mean EC50 of 0.95 mM (95% CI: 0.859–1.254). In contrast, the majority of primary HPT adenomas (n=6) displayed a concave response curve indicative of non-competitive inhibition, consistent with a primary sensing deficit, such as loss of CASR expression. Two distinct PTH secretory behaviors were observed in secondary HPT specimens. One subset (secondary type 1, n=4) retained a sigmoid response curve but with a modest EC50 increase (mean EC50=1.50 mM, 95% CI: 1.41–1.61) and maximal suppression similar to normal tissue, features reflective of competitive inhibition in response to elevated calcium. This pattern could indicate enhanced CASR antagonist activity relative to normal tissue. A second subset, (secondary type 2, n=8) demonstrated a large EC50 shift (mean EC50=2.46 mM; 95% CI: 1.844–2.621), a sigmoid response curve, and an elevated threshold of persistent PTH secretion at high calcium conditions. These parameters are suggestive of non-competitive inhibitory behavior, consistent with loss of a CASR-dependent downstream effector. Three of the primary HPT adenomas shared this response phenotype. Of the tertiary specimens, four matched the primary HPT adenoma pattern, while one exhibited secondary type 2 behavior. These results reveal a series of progressively attenuated dynamic response patterns, where PTH secretion becomes increasingly uncoupled from extracellular calcium sensing. These findings suggest that primary, secondary, and tertiary HPT arise through distinct mechanisms of calcium sensing failure.
