Today's technologies enable efficient data management and generally contribute to effective control of the construction process. There are various ways of focusing on a real construction project based on laser or digital camera measurements, however, the quality of outputs is depending on the lighting conditions. Proper lighting conditions greatly affect the result of the processed record, especially its final texture, geometry, and affect any errors in the measured values. There are various lighting conditions on the construction site, which affect the quality of the documentation made. While in the outdoor parts this situation is affected by daylight, inside the building we must rely on artificial lighting and as a result there are many parts without sufficient lighting, or the lighting is completely absent.In this article we focus on the evaluation of the impact of lighting in documenting the course of work on the site using 360 ° photogrammetry, especially in relation to verification of geometric accuracy, position of structures and current work in progress and follows the analysis of standard and technical requirements to determine appropriate ways to ensure adequate lighting.

The compaction quality of the subgrade is directly related to the service life of the road. Effective control of the subgrade construction process is the key to ensuring the compaction quality of the subgrade. Therefore, real-time, comprehensive, rapid and accurate prediction of construction compaction quality through informatization detection method is an important guarantee for speeding up construction progress and ensuring subgrade compaction quality. Based on the function of the system, this paper puts forward the principle of system development and the development mode used in system development, and displays the development system in real-time to achieve the whole process control of subgrade construction quality.

Archaeological data are usually inherently incomplete, heterogeneous, discontinuous and require frequent updates and possible adjustments. It is important to constantly create detailed documentation, which will precisely represent the actual situation. However, even the most precise figure is only an estimated representation of the documented object. Therefore, it is necessary to collect fully metric documentation and its professional archaeological interpretation. Acquiring correct and valuable underwaterdigital images for the archaeology purposes is not easy due to specific shooting conditions. It should be noted a number of limitations are unique to this type of imaging environment — the apparent extension of the focal length, the “disappearance” of colours, as well as a significant reduction in the transparency of the water environment. Therefore, the authors have made attempts to describe changes, in a much broader sense, in the quality of photogrammetric images that had been taken in various shooting conditions. Underwater and aerial images of two test fields were tested. First, the ground sampling distance of the INTOVA IC500 digital camera and the geometric accuracy of the acquired images were examined. Then, the impact of changes to the imaging conditions on the radio-metric resolution and colour projection were designated. In the last stage, the acquired images were used in practice — to assess the progress of the erosion process of an archaeological object, and also to comply its documentation in the form of vector drawing with the accuracy of mxy = ±0.5 mm. The European climate strategy has encouraged the usage of the External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS) to increase the energy efficiency of external building envelopes. This externally and relatively easily applicable façade solution must meet various technical requirements. This paper develops a technical severity evaluation model of on-site construction activities of ETICS to prioritize the risks of the construction process. The model can be used independently by any stakeholder of the construction process. The relevance of the activities is assessed with the Failure Mode Effects Analysis method. The model weights the impact of the essential technical requirements and simulates an integrated weighted technical severity value, which is derived from the analysis of experts’ judgments validated with the non-parametric Friedman’s test. The data collection for probability of occurrence and difficulty of detectability follows the Delphi technique to quantify the opinions of a group. The simulation, conducted on 103 degradation factors, shows that the on-site construction activities of ETICS strongly influence the decrease in the technical resilience of long-term durability, mechanical resistance, and stability, as well as the ability to bypass tensions. The highest risk is detected by the shortcomings in the layers of substrate, reinforcement, adhesive, and additional details.

We are living through serious problems of environmental pollution, which causes great risks to the well-being of the population. These problems are presented by the bad planning of urban growth, and many times in very bad quality. Industrialization grows in the cities without having an order and an appropriate planning to avoid the damage in our environment. The construction sector is largely responsible for this global pollution that is experienced today. As the years go by, architects aim to improve the quality of their construction and improve our quality of life. New projects arise with strategy and planning, developing a new type of architecture which contemplates the damage it would do to the environment and how this issue could be solved based on its construction development. The profession of architects, or urban planners who are involved in the development of cities, are responsible for creating new developments by designing the impact of climate change. The architectural community carries a great responsibility in designing with the flows of materials, energy, climate change, causes and solutions in mind. Architecture must involve sustainability in its construction process and know how to implement it to cause an environmental impact to satisfy the common welfare.

One of the most important elements during photogrammetric studies is the appropriate lighting of the object or area under investigation. Nevertheless, the concept of “adequate lighting” is relative. Therefore, we have attempted, based on experimental proof of concept (technology readiness level—TRL3), to verify the impact of various types of lighting emitted by LED light sources for scene illumination and their direct influence on the quality of the photogrammetric study of a 3D urban mock-up. An important issue in this study was the measurement and evaluation of the artificial light sources used, based on illuminance (E), correlated colour temperature (CCT), colour rendering index (CRI) and Spectral power distribution (SPD) and the evaluation of the obtained point clouds (seven photogrammetric products of the same object, developed for seven different lighting conditions). The general values of the quality of the photogrammetric studies were compared. Additionally, we determined seventeen features concerning the group of tie-points in the vicinity of each F-point and the type of study. The acquired traits were related to the number of tie-points in the vicinity, their luminosities and spectral characteristics for each of the colours (red, green, blue). The dependencies between the identified features and the obtained XYZ total error were verified, and the possibility of detecting F-points depending on their luminosity was also analysed. The obtained results can be important in the process of developing a photogrammetric method of urban lighting monitoring or in selecting additional lighting for objects that are the subject of a short-range photogrammetric study.

An experimental component of nuclear grade austenitic stainless steel 316 (SS316) shielding plate was manufactured by wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) method. Its microstructure, tensile properties at room and high temperatures, Vickers hardness, and impact properties were analyzed. The results show that the microstructure of WAAM SS316 product is mainly composed of austenite (γ) and delta-ferrite (δ) phases. The δ exhibits a fine vermicular morphology in the austenite matrix and is distributed at the boundaries of and inside the grains. The tensile properties of WAAM SS316 product are comparable to those of wrought SS316 and exceed the corresponding requirements of the nuclear industry. WAAM SS316 product has good uniform impact toughness in all directions, and the impact energy can fully meet the technical requirements of the nuclear industry with excellent performance. The results of nondestructive testing show that the quality of the WAAM SS316 shield plate product meets the evaluation requirements of the nuclear industry.

PurposeDelivering patient-centered healthcare is now seen as one of the basic requirements of good quality care. In this research, the impact of the perceived quality of three experiential dimensions (Physical Environment, Empowerment and Dignity and Patient–Doctor Relationship) on patient's Experiential Satisfaction is assessed.Design/methodology/approach259 structured interviews were performed with patients in private and public hospitals across Italy. The research methodology is based in testing mediation and moderation effects of the selected variables.FindingsThe study shows that: perceived quality of Physical Environment has a positive impact on patient's Experiential Satisfaction; perceived quality of Empowerment and Dignity and perceived quality of Patient–Doctor Relationship mediate this relationship reinforcing the role of Physical Environment on Experiential Satisfaction; educational level is a moderator in the relationship between perceived quality of Patient–Doctor Relationship and overall Satisfaction: more educated patients pay more attention to relational items. Subjective Health Frailty is a moderator in all the tested relationships with Experiential Satisfaction: patients who perceive their health as frail are more reactive to the quality of the above-mentioned variables.Originality/valuePhysical Environment items are enablers of both Empowerment and Dignity and Patient–Doctor Relationship and these variables must be addressed all together in order to improve the value proposition provided to patients. Designing a hospital, beyond technical requirements that modern medicine demands and functional relationships between different medical departments, means dealing with issues like the anxiety of the patient, the stressful working environment for the hospital staff and the need to build a sustainable and healing building.

However, in the implementation of the system, there is often mismanagement which caused major safety accidents and the quality of construction has become a general concern. This paper analyzes some problems in the construction site, and proposed solutions to promote standardized law and safety measures for the construction management system.

The concept of earthquake resistant houses is basically that all building components must be well tied each other. In addition, quality of materials and workmanship must also be good so as to produce a strong building when receiving shocks. This study aims to determine whether houses in Perumahan Graha Arradea (Tahap 3 in Ciherang Village, Dramaga Subdistrict, Bogor District - West Java are built following the design principles of earthquake  resistant houses. The research is conducted by observing the construction process at the location. Every stage of the construction process is recorded using a digital camera (Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W730). Interviews are also conducted on related parties to obtain accurate informations. The results conclude that the houses that are built have not met minimum requirements for design of earthquake resistant masonry houses with reinforced concrete frame. In addition to quality of some materials that have not met minimum requirements, the quality of workmanship of building component is also still low. The ties of all building components have not been properly connected.
