Poor adherence to food safety and wholesome practices in meat processing and handling is a common phenomenon in some public abattoirs in Nigeria. The quality of beef consumed by the University community is an issue of concern. Information on the extent of beef patronage has not been documented. Thus, beef demand at the University of Ibadan abattoir was assessed. Ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections by the University Veterinarian were performed on slaughter days from January 2013 to April 2015. The data collected were customer: day of purchase, Department/Unit, sex and rank. The quantity demanded and the parts requested were also noted. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that a total of 22,884 contacts were recorded. An increase in patronage from 42.24% in 2013 to 57.76% in 2014 was evident. Women (53.60%) requested for meat than male counterpart. The requests for 1-2kg, 2-4kg and above 4kg at a time were 58.9%, 19.1% and 10.0% respectively. For the day of purchase, the patronage was higher on Fridays (59.20%) as compared to Wednesdays. The last week of the month attracted higher demand (36.20%) than weeks 1 (21.0%), 2 (22.3%) and 3 (20.5%). A noticeable increase in demand was during festive periods. A high percentage occurred in the number of customers that specified the actual parts (63.5%) of the meat requested and those that did not while females specified more (57.82%) than males. Highest preference for special parts was observed among the Professors (45%). More patronage was observed for people at closer Departments/Unit to the abattoir. It may be concluded that day of slaughter, proximity to slaughter house, sex, status and special occasions are vital factors that affect beef demand enterprise in the University of Ibadan.

This article provides an assessment of the pathways Librarians at the University of Guyana Library (UGL) explored to achieve continual learning for professional growth and self-development.The writers adopted a survey method to capture data from sixteen senior professionals from the University of Guyana Library. The findings revealed that while the University of Guyana Administration provided some avenues for professional growth and development for all professionals, there were some areas that required a more structured and equitable approach.  The findings indicated that much more can be done to facilitate growth and development for senior Library professionals, particularly in the field of Librarianship. From the discussions, the researchers concluded that in spite of the limited access to available resources, Library senior professionals actively pursued alternative avenues to enhance and advance learning. This was intended to acquire current knowledge and practice so that they may provide a higher quality of service to their clientele; further, their experience (in the process) will assist in enhancing their professional development and personal growth.

Higher education is one of the key factors in the effort to improve the lives and well-being of a nation. The experience of developed countries in Asia showed that the quality of higher education correlated significantly with the increased competence of human resources as a whole which eventually forms a high competence in the global competition. Globalization proactively answered by the governments in various parts of the world through international cooperation in the form of teaching, research, and dedication to the university in the form of the internationalization program. Through descriptive qualitative method enriched by quantitative techniques with intrinsic case study design (intrinsic case study), this research found that the success of internationalization is driven by capacity building supported by horizontal and hands on leadership. Therefore, the leadership of a university is not only an academic but it must be a manager who is able to read the signs of change.

*****Spatial orientation process is related to the cognitive, perceptual and behavioral process that a person goes through to find his way from the starting point to his final destination. By understanding that the environment is not always adequate and contributes to decision making during this process, this research aims to evaluate the spatial orientation and wayfinding strategies of students on the campus of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, in Florianópolis/SC, from a pre-established route. Two research methods were selected. The first consisted of the production of Mind Maps on the university campus by the research participants, and the second, the application of the Accompanied Stroll method. Along the way, the participants found it difficult to find the final destination, demonstrating that the graphic resources were not available in strategic locations, and the quantify/quality of current resources is insufficient. At the end, some recommendations are proposed – spatial – that improve the displacement of users on the university campus.

Since the establishment of the Adventist University of Indonesia (UNAI) to date has resulted in 12 608 qualified graduates, but the problems that exist today data on students graduated from UNAI difficult to find because UNAI not have a special service for containing information about the data the continuation of a career each of graduate that will be created as the relationships that can support the advancement of the quality of the Graduate at Adventist University of Indonesia. Methods: With the difficulty of knowing the whereabouts of graduate, an graduate tracer study system was created using Web-based GPS that aims to make it easier for universities to find out the alumni position and is expected to be able to overcome the problems above. The graduate tracer study system was designed using a website-based system. .The system of Graduate tracer study was designed using a web-based system. The system is easy to use by any user because it is built using the waterfall method as a method of system development, laravel framework for building websites and using the Global Positioning System (GPS) locator that serves Graduate. Results: The end result of this research is to facilitate UNAI system to track and determine the position of the Graduate as well as get information takes on new Graduate pass or long pass which spread to various area Discussion: It is expected that the future can be developed to add features that are useful scholarship to help students who are still studying, and add graphs about graduate information in getting a job.

This study discusses whether the reference service owned by the Universitas Indonesia (UI) Library can be used as a representation of other college libraries. This representation can be seen based on user perception in the University of Indonesia Library of the reference service and also seen from the strategy undertaken by the University of Indonesia Library in improving the quality of their reference service. This research is a qualitative research using case study method. The results of this study indicate that the reference service Library University of Indonesia can be used as a representation of the library of universities, because the University of Indonesia Library managed to make their reference services become more active and more innovative by bringing various innovations in it to get closer to the user. In addition, users also express their opinions regarding reference services in the University of Indonesia Library, this will further strengthen the purpose of this research is a reference service as a representation of the University of Indonesia Library.
