ResumoCom base na refuncionalização territorial de Goiás, este artigo busca analisar a inserção desse estado na lógica da expansão capitalista na América Latina e no Brasil, enfatizando como a vida sertaneja local é transformada pela ação do capital, responsável pela passagem de Goiás do sertão para Goiás do cerrado. É nessa perspectiva que está pautado este estudo, ou seja, no entendimento da interação dos elementos políticos, econômicos e culturais que se processam na inserção de Goiás na lógica da expansão capitalista e como essa situação ressoa na vida do sertanejo goiano. Para isso, realizou-se uma análise bibliográfica sobre a leitura geográfica do cerrado, acompanhada de entrevistas com pesquisadores do assunto. Tais ferramentas nos possibilitaram entender a incorporação do cerrado na dinâmica do capitalismo mundial e sua reverberação na (re)existência do sertanejo goiano.Palavras-chave: Expansão Capitalista; Cerrado Brasileiro; Território Goiano; (Re)Existência Sertaneja. AbstractBy introducing a debate grounded on the territorial refunctionalization of Goiás state, this article addresses the inclusion of Goiás within the logic of capitalist expansion in Brazil and in Latin America. Moreover, it stresses the way the sertanejo way of life is transformed by the role of capital, which is responsible for the transition from hinterland to savannah in Goiás. The present research stems from understanding the interaction between political, economic, and cultural elements processed in the inclusion of Goiás within the logic of capitalist expansion in Brazil, as well as the way this scenario resonates in the life of the state’s hinterland. To achieve that, this paper brings forth a bibliographical survey of geographical research on the state’s savannah, as well as interviews with researchers. The article examines the problems of life of Kazakhs of Zhetysu in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries - changes in clothing, food, housing, utensils, furniture, adaptation of the population to a new life. Changing the way of life and way of life of the Kazakhs in Zhetysu in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries is one of the most important topics in national history. Because the political, economic and social changes that took place between 1867-1917, along with social relations, deeply penetrated the inner life of the population and began to radically change the way of life and customs, which for a long time were formed in accordance with the ancient way of life.

Buenos Aires, the city of tango, good meat, and. . . yoga? As in many modern big cities, yoga has become extremely popular during the last decades. It is everywhere; in gyms, book stores, yoga centers, multinational companies, even churches. We have hatha, swasthya, and ashtanga yoga, hot yoga, naked yoga, yoga for pregnant women, and for Catholics; the list is endless. For Dutch anthropologist Peter van der Veer (2007), modern yoga is a product of global modernization, originated in the dialogue between the Indian national movement and the western political, economic, and cultural influences. Yoga has become an item in the wide catalogue of alternative therapies, seen as a physic­al exercise promoting bodily and mental health, a way of life, which does not conflict with western science. For van der Veer this ‘therapeutic world view’ is part of global capitalism. (Van der Veer 2007: 317.)

The following article concentrates on the representation of social class in Anthony Trollope’s Antipodean stories, Harry Heathcote of Gangoil (1874) and “Catherine Carmichael” (1878). Although Trollope was aware of the problematic nature of class boundaries in the Antipodes, he nevertheless employed the English model of class distinctions as a point of reference. In the two stories he concentrated on wealthy squatters’ attempts to reconstruct the way of life of the English gentry and on the role of women, who either exposed the false pretences to gentility, as in “Catherine Carmichael,” or contributed to consolidation of the landowning classes as in Harry Heathcote of Gangoil.

Abstract Our analysis of Joachim Wittstock’s narrative entitled Hades and published thirteen years after the fall of the communist regime in Romania aims at pointing out the intimate connection between socio-political reality and personal experience reflected by the creative process of turning reality into fiction by writing. We consider the chosen narrative both as a political and literary statement, reflecting much of the way of life in Romania during the late 1980s. The narrative may be considered as some kind of withheld fiction and a pertinent comment of the author as to the role of fiction in a totalitarian regime.

The objective of the current study was to clarify the role of ‘Rabbani’ to establish a balance of sustainable development in Terengganu political leadership, Malaysia. We propose Rabbani political leadership as a task of bridging the understanding of sustainable development in harmony that may influence followers to manage the development in political workplace. It then explores the underlying reason for the mobilisation of sustainable social development. This study classified as a fieldwork study based in Terengganu, Malaysia. The obtained data were analysed systematically according to selected themes. The argument constructed into the following stages, namely an overview of Islamic principles in setting an identity of Islam as the way of life, proposing unity as the foundation of a harmonious life in which the whole life system as a response to having a holistic development as a catalyst of progress. This study was able to benefit the local community of Terengganu and also amongst the rulers and politicians in order to understand and applying the value of Rabbani political leadership quality for the sake of better social lifestyle. Rabbani political leadership in the state of Terengganu could be one of the models that cover three types of political leadership work ethics in Islamic principles namely; building identity that Islam is the way of life; proposing unity ass the foundation of a harmonious life; and a holistic development as a catalyst of progress.   Received: 24 March 2021 / Accepted: 8 July 2021 / Published: 5 September 2021

One of the greatest sermons that were delivered and whose effects remain to this day are the sermons of the Prophet, for the sermons of the Prophet were of great importance in depicting the life of the Prophet’s society and its way of life, hence we hope that this study will contribute to uncovering the social and administrative aspects of the Prophet’s society through the sermons that The Prophet delivered it in different seasons, as these signs can be monitored in the prophetic speeches to form the image of society in the Prophet’s era, through knowledge of social aspects such as customs, traditions, clothing, and adornment. As well as in the type of foods, the way they were eaten, and the tools used in preparing, eating and storing foods, and what this study means is to present another social picture of what the community of prophecy was, in terms of social solidarity, The way people live in homes, all of this by quoting from the sermons of the Prophet touched, and it is also of great importance to present the sermons of the Prophet which dealt with the role of women and the family in building civil society, and what the research will reveal is the subtle aspects of the prophetic society that permeated many of the prophetic speeches, such as Talking about the classes of society, and about fun, sports and tanning. On the other hand, this study provided an idea about the administrative and financial situation during the era of the prophethood, by extracting this information from the Prophet’s sermons, such as talking about the emirate over regions, organizing sergeants and captains, and also monitoring household resources and banks, as the sermons of the Prophet- ﷺ-  showed something of the organizational aspects in State administration such as bureaus, post office, and calculator.

In this commentary, I welcome An et al.’s (2021) commitment to explore the role of Confucian thought in the contemporary practices of statehood in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Nonetheless, I also take issue with the authors’ argument that a Confucian geopolitics is needed to replace inadequate ‘Western geopolitical frameworks’. Confucian philosophies promote a hierarchical social order based on authority and subordination, and the way in which they are selectively and strategically utilized in contemporary China represents an important subject of analysis. However, they should not be viewed as a framework of analysis, as they obscure rather than shed light on spatial and class struggles – even in the hybridized stylization endorsed by An et al. Critical political economic and critical geopolitical perspectives with a global theoretical orientation and a knowledge of place and culture offer more promise in the disentangling of state practices and social relations in the PRC.

The focus of this article is a reflection on the nature of the human heart (al-qalb), human mind (al-‘aql) and human hand (al-yad). The heart is the place of emotion - love or hate; the mind is the place of thought - right or wrong; the hand is the tool of power – justice or injustice. So, the question may be asked, what is the tipping scale for the heart from love to hate; what makes the mind to think right or wrong; and what causes the hand to do justice or injustice? Then, what is the role of faith/religion in harmonizing the human heart, mind and hand? How can the Sīrah, the way of the life of the messenger of God, teach the human heart to love, the human mind to thing right and the human hand to act justly? What can man learn from the parallel lives and trials of the early aṣḥāb, the Prophet’s companions, and their immediate tābi’ūn, the followers? Here, the article introduces the way of life of two aṣḥāb: ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbās and Mu‘ādh ibn Jabal and one tābi‘un: Al-Qāḍī Shuraikh ibn Al-Ḥārith Al-Kindī, to show that the heart is not a pump that drives the blood, but it is the blood of love that drives the heart to love; that the mind is not a vessel to be filled, but the light to be kindled; and that the hand is not a tool to be abused, but a means to be used for justice. The author aims to open the way for a critique of the pure faith of Muslims. Indeed, the Muslims need to examine their faith in a serious way to find out the right exit from the current crisis of the relationship between their heart, mind and hand. Where is the pure faith of Muslims? Is it in their heart only? Is it in their mind only? Is it in their hand only? How can the Muslims connect these three into a coherent whole for the good of humanity? The good examples from the Sīrah might provide us with the right answer to these questions provided that the Muslims open their hearts, employ their minds and educate their hands. This article is trying to guide them to that direction.

The new theoretical approaches about cultural landscapes have pointed out its value for historical recovering and for the knowledge of the evolution of territories. The cultural landscape, as theoretical tool is can show the identity signs and explain as a place that keeps the memory of a society and a community that still is living it. In this sense, the territory shaped by cultural elements is like a social mirror that reflects the way the society has built itself. Nevertheless, the consequences of the newly environmental crisis, the limits of governance in several regions, and the predator interests of capitalists are limiting this theoretical role of landscape. The analysis of Necaxa hydroelectric system in Puebla State, Mexico, as a cultural landscape is a good example of this kind of controversies.

Striving to emphasize the complex and dynamic relationships and mutual connection between the concepts of education and cultures, the aim of this work is to present the role of education in the process of cultural reproduction and the process of cultural production. Culture, with its meaning and values, pervades the educational process in all respects. Education is a process of reproduction, as well as a process of production and transformation of culture. The question analyzed in this paper is: where does education stand between cultural reproduction and cultural production? Cultural reproduction is a process that seeks to preserve a culture more or less as it is. The role of education in cultural reproduction is and can be considered at several levels, namely: at the level of collective culture, in culture and at the level of individual culture. As one of the most important intermediaries of culture between the individual and culture, according to many authors, the school stands out. By setting curricula that are mandatory and universal to a large extent, it allows its children to be exposed to a specific set of ideas, knowledge, beliefs, values, and attitudes. The dimensions of the curriculum, by whose analysis the role of the school in cultural reproduction can be followed, are: goals; educational materials and teaching methods. The hidden curriculum in education plays an important role in performing the function of cultural reproduction. The school successfully performs cultural reproduction, because the school itself, as well as culture, represents a certain life. The way of life in the school will be close to the way the culture, that the school belongs to, lives. On the other hand, in education there is the potential for the introduction of innovations and changes. This means that education also contributes to cultural production. In order to really promote cultural production, some innovations must be submitted to the school. Supporters of the socio-cultural approach offer numerous opportunities for organizing the educational process so that they are in the service of production. Some of the possibilities are: transforming the learning discourse, building a network of learners' literacy, and transforming assessment methods. It is necessary that education is based on interactions and dialogue with the active role of students, because only in this way will we get students used to thinking and acting productively.
