The  purpose  of  the study. The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in extracurricular spint abilities of male students at SMP Negeri 03. The research method was this study using an experiment with a quasi-experimental type of research and the research pattern used in this study was a nonequivalent control group design. Materials and methods. This design involves two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group, and the time of the study was carried out in June 2021. The subjects of this research were 10 extracurricular students of SMP Negeri 03 Bangkinang, Kampar Regency. Results. The results of this study can be concluded that the results of the 100 meter sprint ability of male extracurricular students at SMP Negeri 03 Bangkinang Kampar Regency with an average sprint ability of 100 meters 0.933, thus it can be concluded that by using the hollow sprint method on acceleration can improve the ability to run 100 sprints. Conclusions. Based on the results of data analysis, description, testing of research results and discussion, conclusions can be drawn based on the results of calculations that have been carried out, a significant value of 1.080 1.054 is obtained. Thus, the hypothesis states that there is a significant difference between the hollow sprint and accelerating sprint exercises on the 100-meter running speed of male students of SMP Negeri 3 Bangkinang in the 2020/2021 academic year, which is acceptable.

This study aims to examine the effect of mind mapping learning methods on social studies materials comprehension of students at Baleendah 2nd Junior High School. This study used a quasi-experimental method with the design of "nonequivalent control group design" with the pattern of "pretest" and "posttest" and carried out treatments in class VIII-F as the experimental class group and VIII-H as the control group used as a comparison. Sampling uses a purposive sampling technique. Data collection on the social studies material comprehension of students use questions as the main data. After the data is collected, the analysis is carried out quantitatively through hypothesis testing or T-Test. The results of the difference between "pretest" and "posttest" in the experimental class given treatment showed a significant difference in improvement, while the control class between "pretest" and "posttest" which were not given treatment the results were no difference or no improvement. It can be said that there are influences from mind mapping learning methods to on social studies materials comprehension of students.Keywords: comprehension of material, Mind Mapping Learning Method, Social Studies Learning

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan generik  sains (KGS) siswa, menguji apakah KGS siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan melalui pembelajaran dengan Program Pembelajaran Fisika berbasis IT2PK, dan menyelidiki apakah pembelajaran fisika berbasis IT2PK lebih efektif dari pembelajaran reguler dalam meningkatkan KGS siswa. Penelitian  ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen kuasi dengan kelompok kontrol tidak ekivalen dan disertai pemberian tes awal dan tes akhir (nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design). Pembelajaran pada kelompok eksperimen menggunakan pembelajaran fisika berbasis IT2PK, sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran reguler. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII semester 2 tahun ajaran 2008/2009 di sebuah SMP Negeri di Kota Mataram - NTB. Data dikumpulkan dengan tes kemampuan generik sains (KGS) berbentuk tes uraian sebanyak 14 butir, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan program SPSS versi 16 for Windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) KGS siswa setelah memperoleh pembelajaran berbasis IT2PK secara umum dalam kualifikasi baik, dengan  peningkatan skor yang dialami dikategorikan sedang; (2) setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran fisika berbasis IT2PK, KGS siswa kelompok ekperimen mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan; dan (3) pembelajaran fisika berbasis IT2PK lebih efektif dari pembelajaran reguler dalam meningkatkan KGS siswa.Kata kunci: Program pembelajaran fisika, inkuiri terbimbing tipe penyelidikan kelompok,  kemampuan generik sains   AbstractThe aim of this research is to describe the students’ generic science skills, to know whether it would have increased significantly after the students underwent learning through the Physics learning program based on guided inquiry with group investigation type or not and to examine whether it is more effective than the Regular Learning Program in improving the students’ generic science skills or not. This is a quasi-experimental study in which nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design is applied. The Physics learning program based on guided inquiry with group investigation type was employed in the experimental group, whereas the Regular Learning Program was employed in the control group. The subjects of this study are the second semester students of class VII in academic year 2008/2009 at a junior high school in Mataram NTB. The data are taken from the students’ generic science skills test in a 14 items essay test, and then they are analyzed descriptively and inferentially using SPSS 16 version for Windows. The results showed (1) the description of the students’ generic science skills, (2) after learning through the Physics learning program based on guided inquiry with group investigation type, the students’ generic science skills increased significantly; and (3) the Physics learning program based on guided inquiry with group investigation type is more effective than the Regular Learning Program in improving the students’ generic science skills. Keywords       : Physics learning program, guided inquiry with group investigation type, generic science skills

Writing process involves thinking and creative skills. To stimulate the students’ thoughts to express their ideas, clustering technique is effective brainstorming activity to help the students explore their ideas and write consistently. Thus, the objective of this study is to find out whether or not there is any significant difference between the students who were taught in writing descriptive paragraph through Clustering Technique and those who were not. The population of this study was all of the eighth grade students of SMP Srijaya Negara Palembang in academic year 2016/2017. There were three classes that consist of 113 students. The samples of this study were VIII C as a control group and VIII B as an experimental group. This study was conducted by using quasi experimental method with nonequivalent control group design. Then, the data were analyzed by using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test. The result of independent sample t-test shows that the value of sig. (2-tailed) was 0.00 < 0.05 in the level of significant 0.05. While, the value of t-obtained was 5.213 higher than the critical value of t-table was 1.665 with degree of freedom 76. It can be concluded that the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It means that there was any significant difference between the students who were taught in writing descriptive paragraph through Clustering Technique and those who were not.

This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of audio-visual media (picture, video, audio) on culinary students’ learning outcomes in Chicken Carcass material. The researcher implemented a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects of this study were the 10th-grade students of SMK Negeri 8 Medan in the Academic Year of 2016/2017. Cluster random sampling was applied in this study, which consisted of one experimental class and one control class. Meanwhile, some hypothetical tests used in this study were n-gain, independent t-test, and dependent t-test. The n-gain score of learning outcomes in the experimental class is higher than the control class, which is 0.5 and categorized as moderate. Students’ learning outcomes between those who were taught using audio-visual media and without audio-visual media in Chicken Carcass material indicated a significant difference with a significance score of 0.000 ≤ 0.05. The audio-visual media effectively improve the learning outcomes of the 10th-grade students of the culinary department in Chicken Carcass material.

This study aimed to increase the understanding of sexuality at the age of puberty through "Remaja MUDA" psychoeducation to increase anti-premarital assertiveness. The module validation was conducted in two phases. First, the content validity was conducted through judgement from ten raters. The results of Aiken’s V analysis showed score sbetween 0,8-0,975 which means that the module has good content validity. Second, the empirical tests to determine the effect of modules on anti-premarital sex assertiveness. This research was quasi-experimental research using an untreated control group design with pretest and posttest. The participants were 30 junior high school students (aged 13 to 14) in Yogyakarta. The results of independent samples t-test showed that anti-premarital sex assertiveness in the experimental group had a significant difference compared to control group (t = -10.063; p < 0.05). The results of the study indicated that the "Remaja MUDA" module can be used to increase anti-premarital sex assertiveness.

Background and Objective: Suicide is not an uninvited guest entering unannounced rather it always occurs following a previous background. Suicide is interpreted as an action in order to accredit life or give up everything. Suicide happens because of determinism or full anxiety and depression. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of Choice Theory training on the suicidal tendency of first high school male students in Sonqor County, Kermanshah Province, Iran. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted using a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of the study consisted of all boys of the first high school in Sonqor County, Kermanshah Province, Iran, in the academic year of 2017-18. According to available statistics, about 500 students were studying at six male high schools from which one high school was selected randomly. After implementing the Multiple Attitude Questionnaire of suicidal tendency in adolescents, 30 students were divided into two groups (15 cases per group) randomly. The obtained data were then analyzed through single-variable and multivariate analysis of covariance. Results: The results of this study showed that the implementation of the Choice Theory Education to first high school male students influenced their suicidal tendency (P<0.01), and suicidal tendency decreased in the students of the experimental group. Furthermore, the results from the comparison of the attraction to death at posttest in two groups by controlling the pretest effect indicated no significant difference between the two groups in terms of the attraction to death scores (F=0.175; P<0.01). Conclusions: Considering the findings, this intervention is a suitable method to modify the behavior and improve adaptation in male students.

This research aims to investigate the effect of developing character-based phisic based character inquiry models for junior high school students. This research used the type of Research and Development (R&D) with Quasi Experimental Design in the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The results show: worksheet light and optical instruments based on inquiry models are included in the criteria are very suitable to be used as a study guide for students of class VIII SMP witha presentation on the feasibilityof the worksheet  96,87%; There is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students who use the Science worksheet  light and optical inquiry model character and students who do not use Science worksheet  light and optical inquiry model character; The application of the Natural Science worksheet  light and optical characterized by the inquiry model can improve students' understanding of the subject matter of light and optical devices. Improved learning outcomes cognitive aspects including the criteria are; and The use of science worksheets light and optical characterized by inquiry models can develop student character that is within the criteria of culture.

Abstract The aim of this research was carried out to find the influence of using sociodrama method in teaching speaking for ten grade of junior high school at SMKN 4 Batam whether there is significance different in speaking achievement of the students who are taught using a sociodrama and those who are taught without sociodrama. The subjects of the study were 76 students. The method used in this study was quasi experimental study with Non Equivalent Control Group design. The researcher divided two classes into an experimental class and a control class. Before the treatment, the researcher did a pre-test in both classes. Moreover, the researcher taught speaking by a sociodrama method in the experimental class. The last, the researcher conducted a post-test in both. After that, she calculated independent sample t-test to analyze the data. Value of the significant was 0.000 and significant level 5% was 0.05. As the result, the value of significant was lower than significant level. It can be concluded that the using of sociodrama method able to encourage the students to affective in teaching speaking and the hypothesis tested in this study was accepted.Keywords: Speaking skill, Sociodrama Method.

The process of learning and understanding of science has relevance to the level of metacognitive awareness. The purpose of this study was to find out whether the use of learning journals have an effect on students' metacognitive awareness. This study was quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of this study were second semester of VII grade students of State Junior High School 5 of Sukabumi in 2017-2018 academic year. Metacoginitive awareness was measured by using Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI). The data obtained from pretest and posttest were calculated into N-gain score. These data were analyzed by using independent t-test. The results showed that N-gain score for metacognitive awareness in experimental and control class were 0.70 and 0.22 in sequence. Meanwhile, the t-test results indicated that there was a significant difference between learning by using learning journals and without using learning journal in increasing students' metacognitive awareness. It showed that students metacognitive awareness in the experimental class were better than the control class. It can be suggested that implementing learning journal is potential media in improving students’ metacognitive awareness.

This study was purposed to investigate whether or not there was a significant effect of storytelling using puppet strategy on students’ speaking achievement at eighth grade of junior high school at SMP N 1 Seririt in the academic year 2018/2019. The research design was Quasi Experimental of Posttest Only Control Group Design involving eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Seririt. Cluster Random Sampling was assigned to select the sample of this study in which VIIIA Class was assigned as the control group and treated by using storytelling without puppet while VIIIB Class as the experimental group was treated by using storytelling with puppet strategy. Three kinds of instruments were used in this study namely lesson plan, speaking test, and storytelling rubric. Based on the result of the data analysis proves that there is a significant difference on students’ speaking achievement between students who were taught by using storytelling with puppet strategy and those students who were taught by using storytelling without puppet strategy (t= 4.942, df= 62, .p< 0.05). Moreover, the result of the effect size in this study is 0.282. It indicates that storytelling with puppet strategy give a large influence on students’ speaking achievement. Referring to those results, it can be concluded that storytelling using puppet strategy can give significant effect on students’ speaking achievement. Keyword: Puppet Media, Speaking Achievement, Storytelling
