The excessive use of Mud Shells (Anodentia edentula) as a staple food by the people of Kalangan Village, Central Tapanuli Regency caused the decline of the shellfish population. This is marked by the scattering of mud shells at research sites and often people conduct shell-searching activities at low tide. Therefore, a scientific study is needed to know the density and distribution patterns as the basis for the possibility of cultivation activities, management of mud shell germplasm (Anodentia edentula), and mangrove ecosystems in kalangan area in the future optimally, sustainably, and sustainably. The study was conducted in September 2020, using the 1x1m2 transect method purposive sampling at low tide. The results showed that the density of Mud Shells (Anodentia edentula) amounted to 150 ind/m2 in Station I, 0 ind/m2 in Station II with distribution pattern clustering, and 43 ind/m2 in Station III with distribution pattern random. With the evidence that there is a research station that contain zero mud clam and with unsimilarity in distribution pattern that should be clustering in every research station, therefore it can be concluded that the abudance of mud clam in the ecosystem already decline both quantifically and qualitativelyand requires conservation and cultivation action to ensure its existence in the future.

Kata Kunci: Unit Komunitas, Hutan Bakau, Pantai Utara Jawa, Citra Satelit ABSTRACT The total area of mangrove ecosystems that are officially issued by various agencies is different. This causes confusion in the community because there is no standard data that can be used together. One of the causes of differences in mangrove total area is because of the different approaches used. In calculating the area of mangrove ecosystem, several agencies calculate the area of mangrove by entering the surrounding water column, so that the data on mangrove coverage becomes wider than the actual conditions. Therefore, in order the calculation of the area of mangrove ecosystem coverage to be more consistent, a new approach is needed where only the mangrove coverage is calculated, by omitting the coverage of the surrounding water column. For this reason, community unit counting technique was introduced in this study. The results of this study indicate that there are around 1600 units of mangrove communities throughout the coastline of Tangerang Regency, with a total area of mangrove community units reaching 182.4 ha. Candi Village in Bandungan District is one of the Chili Supply Sub-district for Semarang Regency and surrounding area has agro-climate suitable for the development of various agricultural commodities supported by wide market opportunity, so it is suitable for agricultural business development. The purpose of this research is to identify the distribution pattern of red pepper, to know each value of commodity chains and distribution, to design alternative distribution pattern of red pepper.Population in this research is 88 respondents from 735 of member of chilli farmer in Desa Candi with total area of 150,3 hectare consisting of rice field, moor and yard. Methods of data analyst using quantitative approach is done by using Margin Marketing Analysis. The results include: (1) The pattern of distribution of existing farming business grows naturally in accordance with the developments and needs of the perpetrators, the actors in this pattern are farmers, wholesalers, collectors, wholesalers, retailers, consumers. (2) The value of the red chili commodity chain in this naturally grown pattern often makes pricing more dominant by traders, so farmers receive prices slightly lower than market prices. (3) Some obstacles faced in distributing red peppers are the difficulty of changing the mindset of the community about advanced farming, this is best utilized by market participants (chain of distribution) who are more informed and always keep abreast of market dynamics. Conventional marketing pattern by farmer cause price level accepted by farmer in general relatively smaller compared to price received by trader. Suggestions shorten the chain of distribution patterns, increase the added value of products and improve the bargaining position of farmers and for the government always guide / accompany farmers in getting accurate market information, which can be used as farmers in bargaining, Increased market transparency can act as a trigger for the functioning of a market, improved competition and increased adaptation to meet the needs of supply and opportunity to compete with market prices.
