At present, low passion for work is a difficult problem in human resource management. This paper breaks the research inertia of scholars in dissecting the relationship between fit and passion for work from the perspective of multiple conflicts, and explores the relationship between person-environment fit and the influence of different fit on passion for work. Through the investigation of 402 university graduates of different levels, the results show that: person-organizational fit, person-job fit, person-leader fit and harmonious work passion, obsessive work passion are positively correlated. The results of this paper provide a new explanation for the generation of work enthusiasm and provide practical guidance for solving the management problem of low work enthusiasm.

Drawing on the career construction theory and person–environment fit theory, the current research aimed to investigate whether career adaptability could enhance job outcomes. Further, the study examined the role of person–job fit as an underlying mechanism explaining the relationship between career adaptability and job outcomes. The data were collected in three waves from 239 Indian banking employees. The results suggest that possessing psychosocial meta-capacities in the form of career adaptability stimulates employees’ self-regulation in achieving a work–environment fit, consequently leading to favourable job outcomes. The current study is the first to validate the psychological pathways linking career adaptability and job outcomes via person–job fit. Study findings carry implications for career practitioners/counsellors to acknowledge the role of career adaptability in regulating individual capacities for career development. Elaborating the interconnection between domains of career and jobs, the study encourages organizations to consider career adaptability for improving fit and job outcomes.

Studies have put considerable effort to examine the influence of person-environment fit on organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB). However, the findings indicate that the direct relationship is not always satisfactory. Therefore, this study decided to introduce work involvement as a moderator to clearly explained the influence of person-environment fit and OCB. A total of 376 questionnaires were distributed and 371 questionnaires were returned , giving a response rate of 98. 67%. The SPSS was used for the analysis Person environment fit consist s of person job fit, person organization fit, person group fit and person supervisor fit. T he results of this study show that work involvement moderates the relationship s between person job fit and OCB , person organization fit and OCB and person supervisor fit and OCB. The im plications of the study are discussed in the paper.

PurposeDrawing on the interactionist approach and interest alignment theory, this study aims to examine the mediating effects of three dimensions of person environment fit – person–organisation fit, person–job fit and person–supervisor fit – on the relationship between high-performance human resource practices (HPHRP) and firm performance.Design/methodology/approachSurvey data obtained from 3,014 employees of research and development units and 721 senior HR executives and top management team members belonging to 274 Indian-based pharmaceutical firms is analysed to investigate a mediated pathway between HPHRP and firm performance.FindingsThe findings of the current research established that HPHRP was positively and significantly related to person–organisation fit, person–job fit and person–supervisor fit, and this facilitates firm performance and curtails employee turnover.Originality/valueThe current work firmly establishes a link between human resource management with firm performance using interactionist approach. Implications of the study to theory and practice are discussed.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the moderating influence of idiocentrism and allocentrism on person-organization fit, person-job fit and work attitudes relationship. Design/methodology/approach – The survey data were collected from 426 employees of a holding company. Findings – The results reveal that allocentrism makes a difference in fitting the particular aspect of work environment for the individual. Results showed that allocentrism positively moderates person-organization fit and job satisfaction and organizational commitment and turnover relationship. However, no moderating influence of idiocentrism was found on person-organization fit and employee attitude relationship. Furthermore, it was also found that neither idiocentrism nor allocentrism moderated the relationship between the person-job fit and employee attitudes relationship. Originality/value – This research adds a cultural component to the person-environment fit research.

In this study, we examined the effect of pay level satisfaction on individual work performance moderated by person–environment fits, namely person–job fit, person–organisation fit, and person–group fit. This study used a survey questionnaire of 297 conductors of PT Kereta Api Indonesia Persero. The study results show that pay level satisfaction has a positive and significant association with individual work performance. In contrast, person–environment fit does not affect individual work performance, as the unsupported analysis results evidence. This article concludes with directions for future research on the relationships among pay level satisfaction, person–environment fit, and individual work performance and their various implications for management practice. Our aim was to better understand the relationship between person–environment fit (PE fit) and several work-related outcomes, that is, burnout, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. To achieve this goal, direct effects of PE fit on these variables were explored as well as the indirect effects of PE fit on turnover intention through burnout and job satisfaction. The study was conducted on an occupationally heterogenous sample of 571 employees in France. Four types of fit were taken into account (person–job fit [PJ fit], person–organization fit [PO fit], person–group fit [PG fit], and person–supervisor fit [PS fit]). Correlations, regression, and mediation analyses were performed. Results indicated that the four dimensions of PE fit were positively related to job satisfaction and negatively associated with burnout and turnover intention. PJ fit and PO fit were more strongly correlated with these three work-related outcomes than PG fit and PS fit. Mediation analyses indicated that job satisfaction fully mediated the relationship between PJ fit, PO fit, PS fit, and turnover intention, while burnout partially mediated these relationships.

Studies on gender are largely investigated by scholars, included investigation on work achievement. However few researchers explore different gender on personal fit influence intra and extra role performance. Hence, this study was aimed to investigate different gender on Person Job Fit and organizational fit related to task performance and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Moderation effects of gender are included to test those relationships. The result shows that male and female are equal on the relationship between Person Job Fit and task performance and between personal organizational fit and OCB. Implication for the result and suggestion for future research are discussed.

En un contexto general de especulacióninmobiliaria, por la que se encarecen los precios de alquileres y terrenos, y depolíticas de vivienda selectivas y acotadas, los sectores populares acceden aun espacio en la ciudad mediante tomas de tierras. Frente a estos conflictos,el Estado, en sus diferentes niveles y poderes, despliega una forma deintervención basada en la criminalización de las luchas por tierra y vivienda.Al mismo tiempo, el poder ejecutivo nacional crea la Secretaría de Acceso alHábitat, para posibilitar la intervención política orientada a la regularizaciónde los asentamientos. In a general context of real estatespeculation, where rents and land prices are expensive, and a policy ofselective and limited housing, popular sectors can have access to a spacein the city through land occupation. In front of these conflicts, the Statein its different levels and powers, displays a form of intervention basedon the criminalization of struggles for land and housing. At the sametime, the national executive creates the Secretariat of Access to Habitat,oriented to allow political intervention for the regularization of settlements.However, this intervention tends to re-register the housing problems in thepolitical arena, reducing it to a conflict “between parties” and eluding theresponsibility of the State.From a qualitative methodological approach, we selected as empirical referencethe case of the settlement of Villa Obrera in Fiske, Menuco (GeneralRoca).
