Abstract. Illegal gold mining has disturbed the operation of a mining company (Indo Muro Kencana) in Central Kalimantan since the early 1990s. Several disputes have happened, including two serious conflicts, causing financial losses, damage to facilities, and fatalities, forcing the company to stop operations in 2002 and 2013. Eventually, the original investors abandoned the site. Various countermeasures were taken, including harsh law enforcement involving police and military forces’ deployment, yet the illegal mining activities continued. Since 2015, the new management has implemented new approaches; within five years, the number of illegal miners has decreased considerably. This study aims to identify the reasons behind the disputes and how the new management reduces illegal mining within its concession without triggering further conflict. This research is a case study using in-depth interviews, complemented by a study of corporate and media documents. Five factors were identified behind the previous conflicts. The new management’s integrated strategy to manage social issues, including illegal mining, started with social mapping, then an integrated team to deal with social issues was established, and finally, an integrated plan was introduced with four agendas: engagement, presence, respect and inclusiveness, and cohesiveness. This study contributes to company-community model building in similar circumstances and, in practice, offers a solution to curtail illegal gold mining, particularly in Indonesia. Keywords: Conflict, illegal gold mining, illegal miners, integrated, Kalimantan.

Abstract. Public R&D investment in renewable energy has burgeoned at the global level in a concerted effort to expedite energy transition. Unlike traditional energy sources, the renewable energy industry produces a favorable collaboration environment for small and medium enterprises, affecting traits of R&D collaboration in R&D as well. The main purpose of this study is to find relationships between R&D collaboration and intellectual & economic performances in renewable energy R&D. We have analyzed 484 projects completed between 2006 and 2014 in South Korea’s public renewable energy R&D program. We found that university-industry-government research institute collaboration is not the most effective for creating intellectual nor economic performance, interpreting as a necessity in the revision on current UIG collaboration policy. For a leader organization, we found that medium enterprises are the most positively related with economic outcomes, interpreting medium enterprises had as much technical competency and investment capacity as large enterprises. Keywords: R&D, performance measurement, collaboration, renewable energy, triple helix, r&d leader

Abstract. The productivity of Indonesia's palm oil was considered low when referring to the 14.6 million ha land area in 2019, with the production of national palm oil only reaching 3.2 tons of CPO/ha/year. The uses of remote sensing technology as a means of monitoring and supervising, were expected to increase oil palm production in line with productivity. The purpose of this study was to determine the economic potential based on oil palm plantation productivity, with and without using remote sensing-based technology, as well as other variables likely to affect productivity. Primary and secondary data collection methods were also used in this research. There were three quantitative methods being used in this study, namely (i) Multiple regression model with panel data, (ii) Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) tool, and (iii) Multinomial logistic regression technique. The results showed that the generated economic potential from the utilization of the remote sensing model, had efficient opportunity value of 10.48, which was higher than the non-usage of the technology. Therefore, the main variables that affected productivity in this study, were fertilizer and labour. Keywords: Efficiency, oil-palm, remote sensing (spot 6), policy, binomial logistic

Human capital department is found to have important roles in supporting the business objectives of a company. High competition in the customer goods industry makes the company strengthen its human capital department role because the human capital department becomes a strategic business partner. Most companies enhance their human capital departments internally, but internal resources have limitations in developing human capital department roles. The human capital department needs to look further to external resources that could support their roles. To strengthen human capital department roles through collaboration with external stakeholders needs further examination. This paper aimed to explore the external stakeholders in strengthening human capital department roles in consumer goods companies. Based on qualitative, semi-structured interviews of human capital leaders from five consumer goods companies in Indonesia, we identify six stakeholders based on the human capital department activities leading to human capital department roles. The external factors include outsourcing, vendors, government, business and professional associations, community, and university. Collaboration with these stakeholders strengthen the human capital department roles of consumer goods company. Currently, social media is required to inform the public about local government programmes related to smart city. Advances in technology require the government to provide fast, precise and accurate information services. Local government leaders' communication patterns are crucial factors in the successful implementation of the smart city technology. This study aims to map the communication priorities of DKI Jakarta government leaders in publicising the smart city programmes using Instagram. The study, using a qualitative method with a content analysis approach, employs a case study involving an Instagram account owned by Anies Baswedan as the head of the DKI Jakarta regional government, analysing captions posted between February 2019 and February 2020. The ATLAS.Ti program was used for data processing. The study results reveal that the highest priority area for communication regarding the smart city programmes was Smart Economy. Moderate priorities included Smart Living, Smart People, Smart Governance and Smart Mobility. Lastly, Smart Environment had a low priority. This study demonstrates that Instagram can be an effective medium for building interaction between leaders and the community in delivering smart city programmes with balanced communication intensity for each programme. Thus, this study's findings are expected to provide a reference for local government leaders in balancing communication priorities for all smart city programmes. Keywords: Analysis content, instagram, local government leader, smart city, social media

Agile product development principles emphasize user collaboration and continuous improvement. It sometimes bothers users if they have less time, commitment and knowledge to become involved in the lengthy process of product development. Giving online feedback could be another way of contributing to product improvement. However, not all users are willing to leave reviews on online platforms. This study attempts to uncover the factors behind user feedback intention and the relationship between user roles in an agile approach. The questionnaire was completed by 113 respondents from all over Indonesia who have knowledge and experience in using digital products. The data was processed further by applying the PLS-SEM technique using the SmartPLS 3 application. The proposed model supported the positive influence of product perception on user satisfaction, and user satisfaction’s positive impact on feedback intention. Product perception is the first-order construct of attitude and perceived usefulness; meanwhile, perceived quality is influenced by product perception. This study's theoretical contribution sheds light on the relationship between user satisfaction, perception and feedback intention. Moreover, it provides practitioners practical implications towards understanding how to gather user feedback to support the initial idea in product improvement using an agile approach. Keywords: Agile product development, digital start-ups, feedback intention, product perception, user satisfaction

This study aimed to assess the environmental information disclosure of listed manufacturing firms on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Furthermore, this study used the content analysis procedure of the firm’s annual reports and sustainability reporting. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard was adopted as the guidelines for assessing environmental disclosure. Meanwhile, the evaluated topics are material, energy, water, biodiversity, emissions, effluents and waste, environmental compliance, and supplier environmental assessment. The results showed that manufacturing firms had disclosed environmental information at a moderate level, and the average performance level was relatively low. Furthermore, by topic, the environmental performance levels showed that disclosure related to effluents and waste was the highest, followed by energy, materials, emissions, water, biodiversity, and compliance, respectively. The results indicated that the Indonesian government needs to improve environmental law enforcement for industrial practice. Furthermore, Indonesia’s capital market authority is expected to introduce a sustainability index as part of a business organisation’s concern for environmental protection. The Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountant (IAI) also needs to consider developing a standard for environmental reporting as an integral part of corporate financial reporting. Keywords: Annual report, environmental disclosure, environmental compliance, stock exchange, sustainability reporting
