The main objective was to understand and analyze the management of the relationship of two museums in the Circuito Cultural Praça da Liberdade (Espaço TIM UFMG do Conhecimento and Memorial Minas Gerais) with its stakeholders. It was developed a qualitative research, focused on multiple case studies with three sources of evidence: interviews, direct observations and documentation. It was identified in this research that the currents museums management does not estabilish constant monitoring of primary stakeholders as the local community. It is found that the basic requirements management considering to the cocreation of value such as transparency and stakeholder engagement can result in the strategic development, collaborative reciprocal benefits and spontaneous involvement of the local community.

Designers of sports facilities focus on physical aspects, like walls and tile angles to improve an athlete’s performance. However, from experience, the mental components of an athlete’s performance are overlooked; which is believed to have a greater impact on their overall performance. Using my experiences to produce a unique body of research, this thesis focusses on using the athlete’s perspective to design. This thesis investigates Sporting Facilities and Natatoriums are the focus. Using the skill of architects to create space and affect emotion, the thesis will investigate how they can be used to create an atmosphere that will allow an athlete to enter the optimal emotional state to achieve a successful sporting performance. The research will look the emotion and atmosphere of architecture, and the knowledge of sports psychology to understand how atmosphere can be used to challenge current design conventions. The approach will look at the relationship of facilities with and without local community involvement when they are not being used for competitions. This allows the needs of the community which has an effect upon the design, to be controlled. Which allows for an athlete’s perspective to drive the design. Using Natatoriums as the focus of the thesis, a series of design investigations will be conducted looking at how these spaces can be developed and arranged to optimise athlete performance. Objectives are to understand the arrangement of program and atmosphere required at each stage of an athlete’s pre-competition process, so a facility can be developed that is biased towards an athlete’s mental state versus other design factors.

The abundant papyrological evidence surviving from late antique Egypt (4–8th c.) includes thousands of documents in Greek and Coptic on village life. These sources shed light on aspects of rural realities barely known from other areas of the ancient Mediterranean. Village administration and government are especially well documented. Late antique villages in Egypt were organised in a fiscal community (koinon) which was collectively liable for the payments of the taxes incumbent on the village and the cultivation of their land. This institution was governed by a body of officials consisting of members of the village elite. This chapter discusses the relationship of the fiscal village community, administration and elite in Byzantine and early Islamic Egypt.

Research into organizational management that focuses on relationships with stakeholders refers to the importance of the commitment of the various groups in the business development prioritizing the creation and distribution of values. For a better view and understanding of strategy-oriented management with stakeholders and the usage of this strategy in hotel chains, a qualitative approach to the methodology, focused on multiple case studies, was the most suitable for empirical investigation. Three hotel chains were selected, with features that allowed a comparative analysis of the study according to the method suggested by Yin (2010), with three sources of evidence: interviews, direct observations and documentation. Through this research, it was found that, through transparency, ethics, values and especially mutual respect clearly shown by the management, a strategy can be more collaborative and result in increasing the sustainability of organizations.

Lean manufacturing has had a significant impact both in academia and in the industrial environment in recent decades showing the power of eliminating waste. In addition to this vision of resource optimization, sustainability has recently ceased to be seen only from the perspective of the environment and has also added concern with social and environmental aspects. Currently, there is increasing pressure on companies to manage their operations responsibly in relation to their environmental and social impacts, motivating companies and researchers to identify ways to implement sustainable operations. Studying the relationship between lean manufacturing and sustainability seems to be a tangible way to answer the question of how to integrate and, therefore, implement these two initiatives together. Starting from a systematic literature review on lean manufacturing methodology and triple bottom line sustainability concepts (TBL) in their social and environmental aspects, the objective of this research was to evaluate how the implementation of lean manufacturing methodology impacts the sustainability strategy of companies in the automobile sector in the state of São Paulo whose manufacture is based on rubber processing. For this purpose, multiple case studies were carried out. Thus, based on the analysis of the data obtained , it was possible to verify that there is a great contribution of the lean manufacturing methodology in the companies’ sustainability strategy , mainly in the economic and social aspects, however, the contribution within the environmental aspect was not unanimous

Achieving the sustainable development goals laid down in the national projects of the Russian Federation requires the formation of new strategic guidelines for companies. They can be most succinctly represented by the concept of ESG factors (environmental, social, managerial), which in turn are closely related to the concept of sustainable and responsible investment, which directly addresses financial issues in the light of global risks of climate degradation, ecology, and corporate governance. Revealing the essence, role and place of strategic management based on ESG factors, the authors justify the necessity and possibility of shifting the emphasis of the financial investment market towards responsible investment. The article discusses its main elements, the theory of the relationship of ESG factors with the financial performance of firms, driving the interests of investors, and provides approaches to investment that contribute to sustainable development in various ways.

Plural leadership has gained a lot of attention, challenging traditional individualistic leadership models and moving the focus to the dynamic and collective nature of leadership. This leadership paradigm seems particularly relevant in situations where plurality is involved to cope with complexity and uncertainty: a valid example is the context of innovation. In this study, we explore how plural leadership works in the context of employee-driven innovation (EDI), since these initiatives can provide interesting insights about the interactions between formal and informal leaders. Our empirical analysis supports the idea that EDI involves plural leadership. We identified some similarities with two of the streams theorized by Denis, Langley and Sergi (2012) in “Leadership in the Plural”, namely “sharing leadership in teams” and “producing leadership through interaction.” Through multiple case studies, it was possible to extend those streams and to deepen our understanding of the relationship between formal and informal leaders. We conceptualized two leadership roles (i.e., process leadership and content leadership), which enable plural leadership to meet the competing demand of exploration and exploitation, and we revealed elements that help explain why and when leadership is shared between multiple individuals.
