Issues of developing a culture of risk management, today is perhaps one of the most significant in risk management. The lack of a well-built risk management culture is for many companies, one of the main barriers to building an effective risk management system. It should be understood that all methods that are used to manage risk are as effective as the culture of risk management in the organisation. It depends on the culture of risk management how secure the organisation can feel as part of its development strategy. The development of a risk management culture, in contrast to increasing the costs of expanding the risk management department, is an intensive way to increase the effectiveness of the risk management system and, as a result, provide the possibility of safe development under any market conditions and challenges. By cultivating a risk management culture for the entire hierarchy of employees, you can achieve much better results than simply hiring expensive risk managers.

The purpose of the article shows that formulating a strategy is an important and necessary process because it helps to unite the efforts of many people and, through their coordinated work, achieve the set purposes: how to achieve the goals, what to do and how to direct the efforts of the company and its individual employees determines the strategy of the company. The problems that organizations face and how they can be solved are highly relevant in today's economy. Methodology. A scientific approach to solving problematic issues allows us to model possible situations and avoid negative consequences due to the wrong strategic policy of the organization. The main purpose of this article is to identify methodological approaches to the evaluation of the characteristics, properties of the enterprise development strategy and the introduction of classification strategies based on the performance indicators of enterprises that characterize the effectiveness of their functioning in the market. Results. Changing the environment in which an enterprise operates in a market economy forces the company to adapt to new conditions, that is, to formulate its strategy. Increasing the intensity of production, the maximum use of financial and labor resources, determine the need for new methods and approaches, that is, the strategy of enterprise development. In a competitive market, it is impossible to be successful by providing low-quality services or offering low-quality goods. Before developing business management processes, a functional strategy must be developed. Practical implications. Strategies at any level usually do not have resources or the ability to use resources in such a way as to ensure complete confidence in success. As a result, the final and important criterion is the risk assessment of less than the achievement of strategic goals. Acceptance of unavoidable risks is part of the work of strategists in the modern world, and the ability to clearly articulate the nature and extent of risk is the first step in reducing its impact. If the risk is defined as unacceptable, it is necessary to revise the tasks, changes in concepts, increase resources, or some complex of these actions. Improvement of the regulatory framework of strategic planning should include mechanisms, a number of regulatory documents and bills, the adoption of which will be carried out by the scientific and technological development of enterprises. The proposed specification of factors that influence the choice of strategy, the comparative characteristics of management systems, the proposed ways to increase the set of decision-making rules will help determine the main areas of activity of the enterprise.

Introduction. The purpose of any production is to get the most possible profits in a market economy. Therefore, they can confidently develop their production and financial activities only those enterprises that receive from it the highest economic result. Those companies that work inefficiently, with a low profitability or are generally loss-making, are not viable. Producers of low-quality products or inefficient enterprises experience the greatest difficulties. However, the most powerful firms can flourish in a difficult time, because they go to segments of the market, which previously served by competitors who were ruined. As the experience of recent years has shown, most modern enterprises are not ready for competitive struggle. One of the key factors that determined the complexity of the situation is the lack of systematic representations about competitive advantages, how to create them and with which methods to implement them. The modern theory of competition, which has many practical provisions, is a powerful scientific base for solving important problems in the system of competitiveness management. Methods. The following methods are used when conducting the study: monographic, statistical, calculation and constructive. Results. The study of the essence of the concept of competitiveness and determination of its level in the context of development of farms and ensuring the realization of their strategic goals of the activity has been carried out. The constituents of the management of the competitiveness of farms are substantiated. The results of calculating the rating of the level of economic development of farms and the grounded development strategies of the farms of the Khmelnytskyi region are presented. Discussion. Increasing the efficiency of the organization in the long run depends, first of all, on the choice and implementation of the economic development strategy. Since the competitiveness of the company depends both on its activity and on the external environment, it is necessary to allocate and analyze the factors that have a significant impact. Priority directions for improving the competitiveness of farms are the introduction of geoinformation systems, the establishment of a servicing cooperative and the union of farmers, which will become an important task of scientific research into the future. Keywords: agricultural enterprises, farms, competitiveness, management system, land resources, production, development.

Activities in a company or institution are something that is usually done, the forms of these activities are generally training, socialization of new regulations, inauguration, and so on. These activities need to be recorded and the data managed as documentation or reference and consideration in subsequent activities. This activity requires planning starting from preparation, scheduling, distributing invitations via email, to implementing and recording the attendance of invited participants. The case study was conducted at PT Pelni Indonesia as an Indonesian National Shipping company that often carries out internal activities within the company. The problem that occurs in the management of company activities at PT Pelni is that so far it is still using the manual system. The participant registration process, participant data collection, sending invitations, recording participant attendance and so on are carried out in handwriting and stored in an excel file. Of course, this makes it difficult to search and manage data, and allows data loss or document slippage to occur. One solution that can be used to overcome these problems is to build an information system for managing company activity data. The management system can assist the HRD for data management needed in the implementation of activities carried out by the company. QR Code technology is also used to encrypt participant invitation numbers, verify participant data and to record attendance. The result of developing this system is a data management system for company activities by utilizing Quick Response Code (QR Code) technology. The generated QR Code can store various participant data in only 1 code and is used to verify participant data.

PurposeThe aim of the paper is to test and demonstrate the potential benefits in applying reinforcement learning instead of traditional methods to optimize the content of a company's mobile application to best help travellers finding their ideal flights. To this end, two approaches were considered and compared via simulation: standard randomized experiments or A/B testing and multi-armed bandits.Design/methodology/approachThe simulation of the two approaches to optimize the content of its mobile application and, consequently, increase flights conversions is illustrated as applied by Skyscanner, using R software.FindingsThe first results are about the comparison between the two approaches – A/B testing and multi-armed bandits – to identify the best one to achieve better results for the company. The second one is to gain experiences and suggestion in the application of the two approaches useful for other industries/companies.Research limitations/implicationsThe case study demonstrated, via simulation, the potential benefits to apply the reinforcement learning in a company. Finally, the multi-armed bandit was implemented in the company, but the period of the available data was limited, and due to its strategic relevance, the company cannot show all the findings.Practical implicationsThe right algorithm can change according to the situation and industry but would bring great benefits to the company's ability to surface content that is more relevant to users and help improving the experience for travellers. The study shows how to manage complexity and data to achieve good results.Originality/valueThe paper describes the approach used by an European leading company operating in the travel sector in understanding how to adapt reinforcement learning to its strategic goals. It presents a real case study and the simulation of the application of A/B testing and multi-armed bandit in Skyscanner; moreover, it highlights practical suggestion useful to other companies.
