Activities in a company or institution are something that is usually done, the forms of these activities are generally training, socialization of new regulations, inauguration, and so on. These activities need to be recorded and the data managed as documentation or reference and consideration in subsequent activities. This activity requires planning starting from preparation, scheduling, distributing invitations via email, to implementing and recording the attendance of invited participants. The case study was conducted at PT Pelni Indonesia as an Indonesian National Shipping company that often carries out internal activities within the company. The problem that occurs in the management of company activities at PT Pelni is that so far it is still using the manual system. The participant registration process, participant data collection, sending invitations, recording participant attendance and so on are carried out in handwriting and stored in an excel file. Of course, this makes it difficult to search and manage data, and allows data loss or document slippage to occur. One solution that can be used to overcome these problems is to build an information system for managing company activity data. The management system can assist the HRD for data management needed in the implementation of activities carried out by the company. QR Code technology is also used to encrypt participant invitation numbers, verify participant data and to record attendance. The result of developing this system is a data management system for company activities by utilizing Quick Response Code (QR Code) technology. The generated QR Code can store various participant data in only 1 code and is used to verify participant data.

Four suicide notes written by three famous people, Jiah Khan, Kevin Carter, and Virginia Woolf, were analyzed in this study. Systemic Functional Linguistics theory especially about transitivity proposed by Halliday is used to see the ideational meaning of all four suicide notes by identifying the elements of the clauses. This study was conducted with a qualitative method assisted by a descriptive statistical method to see the spread and functions of the elements of transitivity in the suicide notes. To analyze the text based on the theory of transitivity, the text is divided into clauses based on the type of process, then each element of the existing process, participant, and circumstantial element is calculated. The results show that out of 170 total processes found, the material process (42.94%) is the most dominant process, followed by the mental process (28.82%), the relational process (19.41%), the verbal process (5.29%), the behavioral process (2.94%), and the existential process (0.59%). Just like the process type, from the two types of participants (who are directly involved and obliquely involved) that exist, actor (22.88%) and scope (15.36%) which are the participants of the material process are the most dominant participants. While the existent (0.31%) which is the participant of the existential process, has the lowest occurrence frequency. For the circumstantial element, location which consists of place and time is the most dominant circumstantial element. The location accounts for 44% of the circumstantial elements in all four suicide notes. Furthermore, Jiah Khan’s suicide note with the material process as the most dominant process describes the unpleasant behavior she experienced, which then leads to betrayal, sacrifice, self-destruction, loss, and loneliness. Whereas Kevin Carter’s suicide note with the relational process of attributive as the most dominant process describes regret, pressure, and despair. Then both Virginia Woolf’s suicide notes show how she blamed herself for what happened although it has different dominant processes between the first suicide note and the second suicide note.

Background and Purpose: The 2019 Indonesian presidential debates were an important part of the presidential election because it drew public interest, enabling the candidates to persuade the electorate. The debates reunited Joko Widodo, the incumbent and Prabowo Subianto, his former contender.   Methodology: The article selected the five debates during the 2019 presidential debates. The debates were analyzed with Transitivity from Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL), studying how process, participant and circumstance represent the presidential candidates.   Findings: The incumbent and contender, although from different parties, share similarities in their Transitivity patterns. Joko Widodo and Prabowo Subianto frequently employ Material, Relational and Mental processes to state their actions for governing Indonesia, describe present or future plans, and share their thoughts and hopes for the country. Being politicians, the incumbent and contender use language to construe themselves as the most suitable person to be president. The two candidates employ the pronoun ‘we’ to depict themselves as part of a group, be it a political party or the electorate. They also employ the pronoun ‘I’ to showcase their personal capability. The two candidates share patterns of Transitivity because their representation tries to persuade the electorate to vote for them.   Contributions: The present article extends research on political discourse because it studies data from Indonesia and data in the Indonesian language. The findings can serve to educate the electorate on how politicians employ language in persuasion.   Keywords: Debates, elections, Indonesia, president, transitivity.   Cite as: Fidyati, L., & Rajandran, K. This study of the transitivity system aims to identify and describe the type of transitivity, namely the process, participant, and circumstance which appeared in Jokowi and Prabowo campaign speech in 2019. The method used was qualitative method and researcher as key instrument in this study. The method used in collecting data was Metode Simak which proposed by Sudaryanto (2018). Data collected were analyzed by using the theory of Halliday (1985), namely Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) which focused on transitivity system. The results of the study based on data analysis show that there are 24 data or about 32% material process as dominant process that found in Jokowi campaign speech, the most dominant participant is actor that found about 15.1% or 23 data , and time as the most dominant of circumstance that found about 21.4% or 9 data. Whereas in Prabowo's campaign speech found that the most dominant process that used is material process about 37.5% or 30 data with the most dominant participant, namely actor and goal that have the same amount of data about 28 data or 18.2%, the circumstance type which is the most dominant used namely place about 11 data or 26.8%. The most dominant transitivity process used by the two presidential candidates shows that the two presidential candidates try to convey things related to the activities or actions that will be done by each presidential candidate if they are elected to become president of Indonesia in 2019-2024 period.

The study presents a research conducted of Experiential Function in Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s speech at the Asia Pacific Regional Conference of Open Government Partnership (OGP) which hold in Nusa Dua Bali. The main objective found the dominant pattens of representation of experience formed by transitivity (process, participant and circumtance) and described of situational contexts (arena, participant’s characteristics and semantic domain). It presented a qualitative design dealing with quantifiable (numeric) mode. The source of the data was taken from the opening speech of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on May 6, 2014. The data were collected by applying documentary technique. The data analysis found out the findings that there were five types of process from six types of process (material, mental, relational, behavioural, verbal and existential). The patterns of each process were different from others, namely material patterns 59 (55.67%), mental 19 (17.92%), relational; identification 3 (2.83%), attribution 10 (9.43%), possession 7 (6.60%), verbal 5 (4.71%) and exsistential 3 (2.83%). The percentage shows that the dominant patterns are formed by material process. Whereas, the behaviuoral pattern related to pshyological and psychological did not find in the speech. Meanwhile, the context of situation of the speech tend to the field and dominated by arena or social activity which refers to the location where social activities were performed, especially [+institutionalized]

This study aims at investigating the realization of transitivity particularly process, participant and circumstance types realized in male and female students’ final draft of critical response paragraph to literature. A descriptive qualitative method was employed in analyzing and interpreting the whole data. Furthermore, eight students’ final draft of critical response paragraph to literature which were categorized into male and female students’ critical response paragraph. The findings showed that (1) most of the male and female students were able to realize the transitivity in which the transitivity was realized through the clauses that construct meaning of every single text. (2) Most dominant process realized in eight texts were material process, while actor and goal became the most dominant participants realized and circumstance of location became the most dominant circumstance realized in every single text. However, male students were tend to use the material process in their texts. This study concludes that even though the text were categorized into male and female students’ text, most of the text had realized correctly transitivity while both male and female students’ final draft of critical response paragraph to literature, material process dominantly emerged in the text. Finally, this study suggests English teachers and lecturers to refer the transitivity as a method which can be applied to check whether the students had correctly written critical response or not. Keywords: transitivity, critical response, literature

English Department Students of Faculty of Languages and Letters of Dian Nuswantoro University usually have difficulties in writing English Texts. Those difficulties deal with the way to organize ideational meaning in their texts. Based on that fact. this study was conducted to know the realization of ideational meaning in the students' texts. especially recounts. The data were taken from the students' recounts and for the sake of this study. 10 recounts were chosen as the data to analyze the data. Halliday and Matthiessen 's framework (1999) was applied to get a deep understanding of Ideational Meaning. The result shows that in organizing the Ideational Meanings in their recounts. the students used sequences figures. the elements of figures: Process. Participant, and Circumstances; and the realization of those elements in lexicogrammar. Kinds of sequences (clause complexes) the student mostly made in their recount are enhancement, and extension Elaboration, locution or idea have lower portion compared to the two sequences mentioned above. Four kinds offigures arefound in the students recounts. Those are figure of doing (material and behavioral processes), figure of sensing (mental process). figure of saying (verbal process), and figure of being (relational: attributive. identifying) process. and existential process). Among the four figures mentioned above, figures of doing (material processes) with actor and goal as the key participants dominate in all texts. 112 circumstances (circumstances of time, place. manner, matter, and circumstances are realized in simple and macro circumstances. The number of macro circumstances is higher than that of simple ones. Sincepersonal recount is a text telling someone's past experience, the realization of participants in their recounts are mostly conscious simple things. Simple qualities only exist in relational (attributive) process. The processes are mostly realized in polar non- phrasal verbs in past tense. accompaniment) are found in the students' recounts. Nowadays, within just one generation digital technologies have revolutionized visual communication – from the process/the act of creating a “message”, through the communication channels to the “addressees”, to the interaction with the viewer-participant in this ancient civilization process. As an important component of “communicating through images”, strong impetus was given to traditional technologies and media. Meanwhile, multimedia and the Internet emerged and have quickly developed. It can be said that Internet is a factor transforming almost every aspect of modern culture. This report will attempt to present a small part of my observations (as part of the generation that was witness and process participant) for about twenty years, and mostly in the field of graphic design as an important “forming factor” in visual communication. Due to the wide range, and varied forms of graphic design, I‘ll focus on (and only on some aspects of) my creative experience and my observations in: • The transformations in typography and fonts development; • The forms combining text and graphics / photography (book, publication, page etc.); • Some multidisciplinary aspects of the graphic design. Also I will share some conclusions from my observations.
