The objective of this study is to present innovative solutions in the area of corporate social responsibility introduced in the Marshal Office of the Lodzkie Voivodeship. Particular attention has been paid to the innovative nature of the introduced activities. The theoretical part of the article describes the essence and concept of social responsibility and its impact on the image of the organization. The research part of the article is based on the results of own research on selected activities of social responsibility on the example of a chosen office. The article underlines the significant role played by the implementation of good business solutions in the presented area in public administration.

The aim of this research is assessment of the relationship between the adoption of social responsibility practices and the performance of the water sector companies. The complexity of challenges in the water sector means that innovative solutions are required, in the manner businesses are conducted and operated. In order to integrate sustainability into business companies, this investigation identifies performance indicators that recognise the main difficulties facing the water industry and contributes to define strategies sustainability for these companies, since the water market and the inherent value of water as a public good embrace all stakeholders. On the other hand, the financial crisis introduces in society, in general, the demand for greater interest on practices of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); for this reason, the authors defend the implementation of CSR strategies to get sustainable success in the water sector. This research paper represents a literature review of corporate social responsibility (CSR), as it has evolved and their use and impact in several countries. As a consequence of competitive markets, several entities must endeavor to reveal a picture of themselves as highly socially responsible enterprises. The increment in academic and practitioner interest in “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has led the development of a set of definitions regarding the concept and their application” (Jamali and Mirshak 2007). The term is not a new concept (Taneja, Taneja and Gupta, 2011) it was developed since 1950´s. Nowadays, several literature presents substantial evidence that CSR activities can play a significant role in enhancing a firm’s value (Mahfuja, 2013). In this scenario, the following paper examines the broad progress of the ideas behind the concept though its origins and evolution in a country focus approach, practices implementation and literature available from different authors over the time. Also, we outline a set of core elements that many scholars associate this term with and finally we develop a special focus towards the stakeholders approach among all theories available on this matter.

Corporates around the world have engaged themselves in a wide range of philanthropic and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives to protect their employees, support communities, and maintain trust in society during the COVID-19 pandemic. This chapter highlights the CSR initiatives by 20 major companies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The contributions relate to technology solutions, support to education and healthcare, support to government initiatives, and support to own employees and customers, etc. Providing free tools for collaboration and the development of chatbots are some innovative solutions that have affected a large segment of the people. Along with this, traditional methods of support like eradication of hunger, healthcare, education, and disaster management have remained a focus for a number of corporates across the globe. The chapter analyses the prominent initiatives and their contribution to society during a pandemic and discusses their sustainability perspective.

The article aims to show that, currently, the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) shall not be associated solely with business, but has been successfully absorbed in public administration. Theoreticians' views as to the possibility (or even necessity) of applying the concept of social responsibility in public administration are confirmed by the activities of public administration institutions at the central level in Poland. The subjects of the study were manifestations of the implementation of the CSR concept on two levels: 1) policy planning (based on the example of selected key strategic documents in the field of development policy from the last decade) and 2) operational activities of public administration. The article analyses the database on Good CSR Practices of Public Administration, gathered at the forum of the Working Group on Corporate Social Responsibility of Public Administration, operating at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy since 2018. The article also presents pioneering CSR reports published by three central public administrative institutions, whose representatives participated in the work of the group. The results of the analysis of the database and reports lead to the conclusion that, in Poland, the concept of CSR at the central administration level is implemented by institutions, although only occasionally reported. CSR should be considered an inherent part of modern public governance models constituting the paradigm of public administration activity.

The Implementation of CSR in Indonesia, most of them are not run in accordance with the existing theory because the government and society in CSR activities are not fully authorised to engage in these activities, due to the fact that private sector directly manages the CSR fund. Thus, the theory of governance puts three pillars as a principal provider of public service life, those are, (1) the state, (2) the civil society and (3) the private sector.  CSR has to involve all parts or elements which know about CSR, with a focus on the implementation of CSR has to be published and transparent;  the CSR Fund is administered by a forum / team through a memorandum of understanding facilitated by the government in accordance with its role as mandating, facilitating, partnering, and endorsing; the CSR forum consists of government, private sector, and society; the form of regional regulation on CSR by reference to Constitution Number 40 of 2007 on the Limited Liability Private sectors and Government Regulation Number 47 of 2012 on Corporate Social Responsibility so that CSR is considered as one of the important instruments in public administration.

<p>Corporations play a significant role in social and economical development globally. They play a significant role in supporting and boosting economic growth and local development as they provide job opportunities, contribute to infrastructure development, and generate income and wealth in societies. However, corporations also bring some negative impacts. Corporations, in particular those in extractive industries, can create a wide range of harmful effects and hazards to human health and livelihoods as well as to the environment. The negative impacts have attracted significant attention from related parties and prompted corporations to take a great deal of care in managing their impacts. As a result, companies are trying to improve their business strategies and corporate social responsibility (CSR) is one of these strategies by which companies try to differentiate themselves from others and to mitigate their negative impacts.  CSR has gradually emerged over many decades and recently became a focus of discussion among businesses and other stakeholders. However, the consensus on the definition of CSR is still limited. Various definitions of CSR have been created based on the interests, perspectives and expectations of different organisations.  This research explores the different understandings and perspectives of different groups of people around the way private sector is implementing CSR in Lao PDR, focusing on a foreign mining company as the case study. The research will also identify how these perspectives and expectations impact the strategies of CSR, especially regarding to rural development and poverty reduction in Laos.  The results of this thesis show that CSR is relatively a new concept in Laos but it is increasingly significant with the government and businesses themselves both paying more attention to CSR concerns. There is still unclear and common understanding among key stakeholders namely, government, business and other related stakeholders such as communities and other organisations. Fulfilling the legal obligations seems to be sufficient for the business and the government to claim that they are CSR companies while the community and other organisations expect corporations to do more than what only in the contract. In order to promote and encourage CSR to be effective and efficient, mutual understanding needs to be created, negotiated and agreed among keys stakeholders.</p>

This paper aims to examine the importance of Islamic organizational culture and Islamic corporate social responsibility in improving corporate performance. The population of this study is all sharia banks in Central Java – Indonesia. By using census sampling method, 327 sharia banks are determined as samples of the study. Partial least squares (PLS) approach is applied to analyze the data. The results reveal that Islamic organizational culture has a significant role in improving Islamic corporate social responsibility, which in turn, increasing corporate performance.

The present paper focuses on corporate social responsibility in public administration. The subject of interest is the South Moravia Region and enterprises seated there. The subject of the present research includes overall awareness of the inquired enterprises about corporate social responsibility and activities of the South Moravian Region Authority related to corporate social responsibility of the institution. The research has brought conclusions testifying a certain level of knowledge of the CSR concept among enterprises, albeit on the basic level only. The awareness of socially responsible activities of the regional authority was very low and therefore further steps of this institution must be considered to improve communication of CSR activities and develop an environment for better cooperation of the public and the private sector in this area. The research was based on secondary data drawn from annual reports of the South Moravian Region Authority and on primary data obtained by questionnaire-based inquiry among 384 enterprises doing business in the South Moravia Region.
