The paper is devoted to the study of the properties of the Markov – Stieltjes transformation of measures. In the works of J. Anderson, A. A. Pekarsky, N. S. Vyacheslavov, E. P. Mochalina et al., the functions of Markov – Stieltjes type were studied from the point of view of the approximation theory. In the works of A.R. Mirotin and the author, the Markov – Stieltjes transform of functions was studied as an operator in Hardy and Lebesgue spaces. In this paper, the general properties of the Markov – Stieltjes transform of measures are studied, the theorem of analyticity and the uniqueness theorem are proved, the Markov – Stieltjes transformations of positive and complex measures are described, the inversion formula and the continuity theorem are established, the boundary behavior of the given transformation is investigated. In particular, the analogues of the Sokhotsky – Plemelya formulas are established. Applications to the theory of self-conjugate operators are given. In addition, the results obtained can find use in the theory of functions and integral operators, as well as in the theory of information transfer, in particular, in the theory of signal processing.

AbstractSeveral theories on communication are tested on trial to what extent they can provide additional insight in business history. All are focused on one known example, the relation between the dyestuff cartel and its Japanese competitors in the interwar period. Can theory extend the limits of our knowledge even in well known cases? While the classification of types of information transfer according to Chun Wei Choo provides only limited new insights, other theories provided interesting results. One is the creation of mutual trust, which helps to explain the - from an economic point of view - quite surprising longevity of the cartel. Another application provides reasons for the cartel’s largest strategic failure. Thus, communication theory can but need not provide deeper insights into business history.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are 50–1000 nm vesicles secreted by virtually any cell type in the body. They are expected to transfer information from one cell or tissue to another in a short- or long-distance way. RNA-based transfer of information via EVs at long distances is an interesting well-worn hypothesis which is ~15 years old. We review from a quantitative point of view the different facets of this hypothesis, ranging from natural RNA loading in EVs, EV pharmacokinetic modeling, EV targeting, endosomal escape and RNA delivery efficiency. Despite the unique intracellular delivery properties endowed by EVs, we show that the transfer of RNA naturally present in EVs might be limited in a physiological context and discuss the lessons we can learn from this example to design efficient RNA-loaded engineered EVs for biotherapies. We also discuss other potential EV mediated information transfer mechanisms, among which are ligand–receptor mechanisms.

The article describes one of the current approaches to classification of production systems. It is described the simplest production system – Single Flexible Machine to the complex production configurations, which represents Multi-Cell Flexible Manufacturing system. Transmission of the information in such systems can be addressed at different levels. The structure of information systems for such a production configurations is solved from the point of view of information transfer in the production system.

This article presents a domain information transfer method for the purpose of quasi-brittle failure analysis. It contains two separated computational levels. On macroscopic level, the material domains are viewed as elementary substances which construct the whole structure. The macroscopic governing equations are established based on this point of view and the boundary displacements of material domains are defined as basic unknowns. Each damaged material domain will be assigned a mesoscale model and the information transfer mechanism from a mesoscale domain to a macroscale domain is established. The damage localization phenomenon is equivalently represented on macroscopic level by boundary deformation of material domains and the macroscale meshes are invariant during analysis. The information exchange element based on nonlocal quadrature scheme is proposed and the efficient upscaling is realized. The proposed method is an efficient and flexible way for quasi-brittle failure analysis.

Hatha-Yoga practitioners and therapists have long understood the positive benefits of regular asana practice for people with chronic disorders. So have Ayurvedic and Chinese physicians. Over the past few decades, Western physicians also have begun to explore both exercise in general and Hatha-Yogaasanas in particular and their positive contributions to the health of patients with chronic disorders. Even though there are still many differences of opinion as to degree, it is safe to say that Hatha-Yoga is now recognized, across much of the world, as a method by which people can improve their health, reduce stress, and even cure certain diseases and chronic disorders. Little has been said, though, about combining the viewpoints of more than one medical system and applying those viewpoints to development of a Hatha-Yogaasana program for a specific disorder. With the continually growing awareness of the breadth and depth of medical systems other than one's own, the lightning speed of information transfer around the world, and the advent of medical databases for cross-referencing of information on various treatments, the next logical step to take is to combine those viewpoints and work with them jointly. If nothing else, the medical and healing communities owe it to their patients to seek out this newfound wealth of ideas and information and apply it whenever possible. This article on chronic cystitis and three different medical systems, Western, Ayurvedic, and Chinese, is one very small step in that direction. It first examines chronic cystitis from each system's point of view, then combines them to synthesize a Hatha-Yoga–based,complementary treatment program.

The work is devoted to investigation of functional principles of data display means building in embedded systems and definition of ways of reliability increasing of information transfer at interaction in user interface. The importance of a visual communication channel with the operator to ensure the protection of information in complex systems and responsible applications is shown. The principles of implementation of the data output subsystem in embedded systems are analyzed and it is found that the required level of information is provided only by multi-element indicator devices. The element base of indicators is investigated and determined that the most effective display elements from a reliable and ergonomic point of view for built-in applications are LEDs. Analysis of the principles of visual presentation of information showed that the analog (discrete-analog) method of data transmission to the operator provides the highest level of ergonomic parameters of indicators. In this case, the best results have a scale indication based on the additive information model. The use of color speeds up the reading of information from the scale. The control schemes of indicator elements for construction of reliable devices are analyzed. It has been found that the use of microcontrollers significantly increases the level of reliability and provides flexibility of such control schemes. In this case, the software used has a significant impact on the reliability and efficiency of solutions. The matrix connection of LEDs, which are switched in a dynamic mode, allows to build effective means of communication with the operator. It is determined that the best set of technical, reliability and ergonomic characteristics will be obtained when implementing data output in embedded systems using LED bar graph display with microcontroller means in bicyclical dynamic mode. However, very little attention has been paid to investigation of the principles of construction and software optimization support for scale information using control schemes based on microcontrollers.

The article presents the results of a research whose aim is to analyze the representation of academic values in students’ information-processing activities and to describe major types of students’ behavior associated with information ethics. It explains how the typology-based method can be used to systematize students’ behavior related to information ethics on the basis of two criteria: information processing processes and academic ethical values. The first criterion is used to single out four major processes of information activity that ensure every student’s involvement: information search, information processing information transfer. The second criterion is used to theoretically investigate literature focusing on research issues and on analysis of ethics-related tension in students’ information processing. The article singles out three academic ethical values: honesty, respect, responsibility. The article discusses the process of operationalization of such theoretical issues as information activities and academic ethical values, the transformation of ethics into indicators. These indicators are used to describe the major types of students’ behavior related to information ethics, namely students’ behavior that is censured from the point of view of academic ethics and behavior that requires praise according to academic ethics.
