In recent years, Cyber Security threat modeling has been discovered to have the capacity of combatting and mitigating against online threats. In order to minimize the associated risk, these threats need to be modelled with appropriate Intelligent User Interface (IUI) design and consequently the development and evaluation of threat metrics. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized every facet of our daily lives and building a responsive Cyber Security Threat Model requires an IUI. The current threat models lack IUI, hence they cannot deliver convenience and efficiency. However, as the User Interface (UI) functionalities and User Experience (UX) continue to increase and deliver more astonishing possibilities, the present threat models lack the predictability capacity thus Machine Learning paradigms must be incorporated. Meanwhile, this deficiency can only be handled through AI-enabled UI that utilizes baseline principles in the design of interfaces for effective Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) with lasting UX. IUI helps developers or designers enhance flexibility, usability, and the relevance of the interaction to improving communication between computer and human. Baseline principles must be applied for developing threat models that will ensure fascinating UI-UX. Application of AI in UI design for Cyber Security Threat Modeling brings about reduction in critical design time and ensures the development of better threat modeling applications and solutions.

Because advances in broadband capabilities will soon allow first responders to access and use many forms of data when responding to emergencies, it is becoming critically important to design heads-up displays to present first responders with information in a manner that does not induce extraneous mental workload or cause undue interaction errors. Virtual reality offers a unique medium for envisioning and testing user interface concepts in a realistic and controlled environment. In this paper, we describe a virtual reality-based emergency response scenario that was designed to support user experience research for evaluating the efficacy of intelligent user interfaces for firefighters. We describe the results of a usability test that captured firefighters’ feedback and reactions to the VR scenario and the prototype intelligent user interface that presented them with task critical information through the VR headset. The paper concludes with lessons learned from our development process and a discussion of plans for future research.

SUMMARYAn understanding of how humans and robots can successfully interact to accomplish specific tasks is crucial in creating more sophisticated robots that may eventually become an integral part of human societies. A social robot needs to be able to learn the preferences and capabilities of the people with whom it interacts so that it can adapt its behaviors for more efficient and friendly interaction. Advances in human– computer interaction technologies have been widely used in improving human–robot interaction (HRI). It is now possible to interact with robots via natural communication means such as speech. In this paper, an innovative approach for HRI via voice-controllable intelligent user interfaces is described. The design and implementation of such interfaces are described. The traditional approaches for human–robot user interface design are explained and the advantages of the proposed approach are presented. The designed intelligent user interface, which learns user preferences and capabilities in time, can be controlled with voice. The system was successfully implemented and tested on a Pioneer 3-AT mobile robot. 20 participants, who were assessed on spatial reasoning ability, directed the robot in spatial navigation tasks to evaluate the effectiveness of the voice control in HRI. Time to complete the task, number of steps, and errors were collected. Results indicated that spatial reasoning ability and voice-control were reliable predictors of efficiency of robot teleoperation. 75% of the subjects with high spatial reasoning ability preferred using voice-control over manual control. The effect of spatial reasoning ability in teleoperation with voice-control was lower compared to that of manual control.

The development of e-learning, both in distance and mixed forms, becomes especially relevant in the modern educational process. A high-quality e-learning course is developed through the efforts of two parties: the teacher, who creates the methodological content, and the programmer, who creates the electronic shell of the course. The article substantiates the importance of quality issues in the development of a user interface for electronic educational resources, since the user of an electronic course deals with the direct implementation of educational material. The indicators for assessing the quality of software products in accordance with international and Russian standards and their applicability for assessing user interfaces of electronic educational resources are analyzed. The conclusion is made about the importance of the indicator “practicality” in relation to this type of software product as an indicator of an individual evaluation of the use of a product by a certain user or circle of users. The classical methods for assessing the quality of the human-machine interaction interface and the applicability of experimental and formal methods for assessing quality are considered. The analysis of modern approaches to the design of user interfaces based on UX/UI design is given. An assessment of the requirements and criteria for assessing the user interface from the standpoint of modern design is given. The tasks and features of the UX and UI components of the design process are analyzed. The essence of the modern term “usability” as an indicator of the interface evaluation is explained, and the qualitative evaluation criteria for this indicator are considered. The concept of UX testing is given, the main stages of this process are considered. The importance of taking into account the subjective psychological factors of interface perception is substantiated. The indicators for assessing the quality of user interfaces, based on the cognitive factors of its perception by a person, are analyzed.

This is an opinion piece about the relationship between the fields of human-computer interaction (HCI), and artificial intelligence (AI). The ultimate goal of both fields is to make user interfaces more effective and easier to use for people. But historically, they have disagreed about whether "intelligence" or "direct manipulation" is the better route to achieving this. There is an unjustified perception in HCI that AI is unreliable. There is an unjustified perception in AI that interfaces are merely cosmetic. This disagreement is counterproductive.This article argues that AI's goals of intelligent interfaces would benefit enormously by the user-centered design and testing principles of HCI. It argues that HCI's stated goals of meeting the needs of users and interacting in natural ways, would be best served by application of AI. Peace.

Das Ergebnis ihrer Bemühungen sind Produkte, deren Funktionalität von den Benutzern nicht ausgenützt wird, weil sie entweder für diese Benutzer irrelevant oder in der Handhabung so komplex sind, dass Sie von den späteren Kunden nicht verstanden werden.Dabei ist es durchaus möglich, spätere Endkunden in die Gestaltungsprozesse für Benutzungsoberflächen dieser Produkte einzubinden. Zu den erfolgversprechenden Maßnahmen gehören primär Fokusgruppen-Analysen zur Erhebung von Nutzeranforderungen und Usability-Tests mit potenziellen Kunden, in denen während des gesamten Entwurfsprozesses Handhabungskonzepte, Gestaltungsalternativen und die entstehenden Produkte auf Akzeptanz und Nutzbarkeit getestet werden.

Smartphones and computers are the most usable communicative tools in modern times. This urged the need to develop softwares, webpages and mobile applications that work as a mediator between users and devices. This is in addition to user interfaces (UI) that need to be designed to help users while using these websites and mobile applications. In this paper, the researcher reviews the Flat design style and its use in UI design. Then, she studies Flat illustrations that are added to user interfaces to help users imagine things better, enhance the brand identity of the UI and make texts and interactions easier to understand. The researcher then reviewed samples of Flat illustrations done for universal user interfaces. Finally, she made a practical study where she examined the importance of using Flat illustrations in mobile app’s UI. Through which she could reach to her final results and conclusions via analysis of outputs..

In this paper, we mainly explore how to design and implement the user interfaces of Electricity Operation Information System based on Android. The paper extends its process as the following four aspects---requirements analysis, UI design, interaction design and programmatic implementation. In response to user actions fluidly and friendly, we add modules to handle exceptions. In the end, we give a briefly test on the system UI to ensure it run smoothly and make less mistakes. There are limited studies focusing on the flow design of UI combined with programmatic implementation. The UI design and implementation methodology has good reference at the early stage of developing an application, especially on Android platforms.

Artificial intelligence machineries have been extensively active in human life in recent times. Self-governing devices are enhancing their way of interacting with both human and devices. Contemporary vision in this topic can pave the way for a new process of human-machine interaction in which users will get to know how people can understand human language, adapting and communicating through it. One such tool is voice assistant, which can be incorporated into many other brilliant devices. In this article, the voice assistant will receive the audio from the microphone and then convert that into text, later with the help of ‘pyttsx3', and then the text response will be converted into an audio file; then the audio file will be played. The audio is processed using the voice user interface (VUI). This article develops a functional intelligent personal assistant (IPA) and integrates it with a graphical user interface that can perform mental tasks such as ON/OFF of smart applications based on the user commands.
