In this paper the author examines the socio-pathological aspects of delinquent groups issues in Serbia. After reviewing the definition and features of delinquent groups, we offer a chronological analysis of various forms of local delinquent groupings from the mid-20th century to the present. Next, the relationship between those groups and various socio-pathological manifestations was examined. In the final section, the author summarizes the features of this phenomenon, and offers his own perspective of its evolution in the future. Moreover, the author discusses the overwhelming influence of information technologies on the transformations and contemporary tendencies of delinquent groups and delinquency in general. This can have a dual impact on socio-pathological phenomena: as a factor in reducing the occurrence of traditional deviant behavior, but also as a factor in the expansion of new socio-pathological phenomena

Human rights were a defining discourse of the 20th century. The opening decades of the twenty-first, however, have witnessed increasing claims that the time of this discourse as an emancipatory tool is up. Focusing on international human rights law, I offer a response to these claims. Drawing from Elizabeth Grosz, Drucilla Cornell and Judith Butler, I propose that a productive future for this area of law in facilitating radical social change can be envisaged by considering more closely the relationship between human rights and temporality and by thinking through a conception of rights which is untimely. This involves abandoning commitment to linearity, progression and predictability in understanding international human rights law and its development and viewing such as based on a conception of the future that is unknown and uncontrollable, that does not progressively follow from the present, and that is open to embrace of the new.

This article is analyzing law and information technologies scientists works, were law technologies and their realization in lawyer work implies also its benefits and disadvantages through the following future. To rely on the linguistic and analysis method in this article explains the way legal technologies work in different fields, modifying individual legal services actions. Analyzing innovative technology tools and showing their practical integration and applicability trough examples. An analysis of the relationship between law technology and a lawyer today has shown what the technology gaps are and what features a lawyer will need in the future. Technologies being an innovative creations of a human and working in virtual field can‘t function without humans, so it could emerge cybernetic attacks risks. To that point helping tools would be automatic, yet it will remain an aid tool. Laws and decision making would be left for human being, however, lawyers should maintain abilities that would let them successfully integrate with modern technology changes.

In a historical situation characterised by crisis, wars and widespread protests the question of the relationship between past Left-revolutionary endeavours and present political challenges is of utmost importance for the possibility of mounting an anti-systemic challenge to capitalism. T. J. Clark’s essay ‘For a Left with No Future’ argues that the future-oriented stance of the 19th and 20th Century Left turned the Left into a disastrous dobbel- gänger of capitalist modernity causing havoc and death instead of being a genuine opposition to capitalism. The great refusals have to be replaced with a ‘modest’ and more ‘realistic’ approach, Clark argues, enabling the Left to understand the human propensity to violence and therefore engaging in a kind of anti-war activism. This article rejects Clark’s analysis and tries to save the revolutionary perspective Clark is trying to get rid of arguing that it is indeed the Left that we have to bury. Juxtaposing Clark’s argument with a reading of Michèle Bernstein’s ‘Victories of the Proletariat’ made as part of the 1963 Situationist exhibition ‘Destruction of RSG-6’ the article attempts to contribute to the re-formulation of a contemporary revolutionary position on the basis of the breakdown of the programmatic Left.

The introduction defines and contextualises what William Empson called ‘the popular, vague, but somehow obvious, idea of proletarian literature’. After discussing various theories of proletarian literature, including Empson’s conception of it as a version of pastoral, it is analysed in terms of a complex intersectional relationship between gender and class and illustrated by a case study of Naomi Mitchison’s We Have Been Warned. The second half of the introduction begins with a detailed reception history of proletarian literature before going on to discuss the relationship between proletarian literature and modernism. The final section lays out the argument of the book and argues that the key orientation of proletarian modernist writing is to the future rather than the past.

This article asks whether it is responsible to introduce and/or cultivate the language of forgetting against the backdrop of South Africa’s colonial and apartheid past.  In writings originating from contexts permeated by memories of historical injustice, the call, and more specifically the duty, to remember and the implied need to fight against forgetting are rightfully emphasised.  But how are we to evaluate what some scholars see as a discursive shift from “memory” to “forgetting” in memory studies?  With this question in mind, this article first considers some possible arguments for giving greater prominence to the notion of forgetting in our memory discourse.  This is followed by a section that reiterates the “critique of forgetting,” drawing also on some examples from 20th century South African political and church history. In the final section, the article considers, in conversation with Paul Ricoeur, whether we should view the relationship between an art of memory and an art of forgetting as symmetrical or asymmetrical.

One of the most important features of the late 20th century is the phenomenal growth of cities. The whole urbanisation process is explained with special reference to South Africa, and its challenges for the mission of the church are outlined. The main areas of need of the urban and urbanising people are delineated, with the intention of stimulating a need orientated approach by the church. In a final section the future ministry of the church is summarised in three dimensions: the communication of the good news, the compassionate service ministry and the establishment of real koinonia.

The topic of what interviews measure has received a great deal of attention over the years. One line of research has investigated the relationship between interviews and the construct of cognitive ability. A previous meta-analysis reported an overall corrected correlation of .40 ( Huffcutt, Roth, & McDaniel, 1996 ). A more recent meta-analysis reported a noticeably lower corrected correlation of .27 ( Berry, Sackett, & Landers, 2007 ). After reviewing both meta-analyses, it appears that the two studies posed different research questions. Further, there were a number of coding judgments in Berry et al. that merit review, and there was no moderator analysis for educational versus employment interviews. As a result, we reanalyzed the work by Berry et al. and found a corrected correlation of .42 for employment interviews (.15 higher than Berry et al., a 56% increase). Further, educational interviews were associated with a corrected correlation of .21, supporting their influence as a moderator. We suggest a better estimate of the correlation between employment interviews and cognitive ability is .42, and this takes us “back to the future” in that the better overall estimate of the employment interviews – cognitive ability relationship is roughly .40. This difference has implications for what is being measured by interviews and their incremental validity.

Objectively and reliably determined indicators of rheological properties of the dough were identified using the alveograph device to create a system of classifications of wheat and flour from it for the intended purpose in the future. The analysis of the relationship of standardized quality indicators, as well as newly developed indicators for identifying them, differentiating the quality of wheat flour for the intended purpose, i.e. for finished products. To do this, we use mathematical statistics methods.

Radiomics is a science that investigates a large number of features from medical images using data-characterisation algorithms, with the aim to analyse disease characteristics that are indistinguishable to the naked eye. Radiogenomics attempts to establish and examine the relationship between tumour genomic characteristics and their radiologic appearance. Although there is certainly a lot to learn from these relationships, one could ask the question: what is the practical significance of radiogenomic discoveries? This increasing interest in such applications inevitably raises numerous legal and ethical questions. In an environment such as the technology field, which changes quickly and unpredictably, regulations need to be timely in order to be relevant.  In this paper, issues that must be solved to make the future applications of this innovative technology safe and useful are analysed.
