A lot of research has been conducted on the characteristics and backgrounds of people who are or have ever been imprisoned, as well as on the impact this condition has entailed on their lives. However, much less work has been specifically aimed at analysing the connection between imprisonment and homelessness, and hardly any attention has been paid to this topic in Spain. Previous research in this area has shown that both circumstances are closely related and interact in complex ways over time, in connection to other factors, both referring to the past and present time, in the final shaping of the individual’s life story. On the basis of the data collected by the National Institute of Statistics from its latest Survey to Homeless People, conducted in 2012, characteristics, backgrounds and life conditions of homeless people who had and had not been in prison are compared. In support of previous research, overall findings suggest that the fact of being an exprisoner adds negative value to the already adverse situation of homelessness, since life conditions were less favourable among individuals from the second group, who also reported coming from disadvantaged backgrounds to a greater extent. Such results evince a need for designing and implementing intervention strategies that are truly effective for achieving social inclusión and employability among these groups and, particularly, the relevance of developing preventive strategies to address the roots of both conditions.

This research focuses on change within informal service provision networks, specifically examining the impact that changes within a key organization can have on the larger network. Employing a before and after survey design with a treatment at the midpoint and participant observation, it asks: What is the impact of a major change within one organization on the larger external network? What is the nature of the organizational ties? and, How do political factors exogenous to the network impact the network evolution process? The findings suggest that internal change within a focal actor can have ripple effects throughout the network increasing density. Public service provision at the local level can be enhanced through an increase in partnerships between the public and nonprofit sectors. However, network evolution can be limited by the larger political environment and lack of a coordinating role on the part of local government.

The Buddhist Geeks project is an online Buddhist media platform launched in 2007 by two self-identified millennials who wanted to combine their passion for Buddhism with their “geeky skills.” It quickly gained a wide audience for its pioneering explorations into the convergence of Buddhism, technology, and global culture. Through an analysis of the Buddhist Geeks project and a consideration of its replacement, Meditate.io., this chapter explores the impact of technology and digital culture on American convert Buddhism. It draws on discourse analysis, formal interviews with some of the main players of the Buddhist Geeks project, informal interaction with multiple Buddhist Geeks participants, and participant observation at three annual Buddhist Geeks conferences from 2012 to 2015.

My mother, Rusimah Ibrahim relates the thoughts of contemporary mother, living in a petty apartment with her out-of-work husband with her three toddlers, who must take care for the foods, schools, pay the bills and every single thing. The pressure of my mother felt for the half of her life is not a barrier to survive. It is because she held on to a principle that she believed would be able to change the behaviour of my father. As an artist, I took this opportunity to study my own lives and record my experience, in this way which the way I love. In the way that gives evidence. This thesis marked my process of collecting her struggles and suffer into a documented narrative based on my own perspectives and interpretations. This thesis work, I transform her facial’s entire identity into something substantial. As I reflected on the impact and meaning of my mother’s life story as a conduit for the art process, I felt extremely fragmented in my own personal reactions and recollections towards her suffer. Therefore, I treat each painting individually as I respond to her experience and memory that I hold. Moreover, each artwork approaches different stage of her experience. As a painter, I choose watercolour medium as my tools to represent the idea. Somehow I felt increasingly cognizant of how my mother and I became closer and my feelings and attitudes changes toward our relationship started to resemble in my artworks. However, my intention would stick in one agenda which to produced artworks and being honest I personally think that the findings are enticing, nevertheless

While there is a global consensus that agricultural systems need to be transformed to be more sustainable, possible pathways and challenges to this process are still debated. We analyse the challenges and opportunities involved in transforming smallholder farming to organic agriculture in Indonesia, where the intense application of Green Revolution technologies came at enormous environmental costs. We adopt a transdisciplinary approach to identify possible pathways towards organic agriculture, based on an analysis of farmers’ knowledge and barriers to adoption, value and belief systems, and institutional structures, including policies and regulations. We present our empirical findings as ‘system knowledge’, ‘target knowledge’ and ‘transformation knowledge’ and incorporate insights from both academics and practitioners. We draw on evidence from large-scale surveys, field experiments, in-depth interviews, participant observation and document analysis. A key insight of our research is that Indonesia does not lack initiatives towards organic farming, but that these various initiatives have different motivations, goals and strategies. This misalignment detracts from the transformational potential of organic agriculture and is responsible for the hitherto limited success of the organic transition. Our findings suggest that policy action at multiple levels is required, guided by an inclusive strategy that is drawn up in a participatory manner.

In palliative care we have the privilege to care for seriously ill people and their families. Some people value capturing their life story or illness journey on film. I have been fortunate to have been invited into the lives of many people close the end of life for a heartfelt conversation. On an interactive iPad incorporated in the poster, the recorded narrative of patients and one bereft spouse the poster audience will experience the lived experience of people close to the end of life as they reflect on their lives. The narratives will demonstrate how each lived with a new found improved quality of life in the face of increasing symptoms, declining functioning and the approaching end of life; otherwise known as healing. Topics of healing and quality of life, patient-centered care, dignity, human development, spirituality and love will be the focus of their stories. The stories lay bare the very practical, emotional, existential, and personal experience central to our provision of whole person care through palliative care. The poster audience will experience a renewed sense of the impact of a dedicated approach to whole person care as experienced through those on the receiving end.

Literacy is one of the abilities that are considered important in facing the 21st-century world. The distinctive character of the 21st-century world is the industrial revolution of 4.0. The impact of the industrial revolution 4.0 has been felt by anyone in every aspect of life, including aspects of education. The low condition of Indonesia's digital literacy capability must be overcome immediately. For this reason, this study aims to propose a thesis on the concept of digital literacy based on value of local wisdom piil pesenggiri in learning history in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. Local wisdom piil pesenggiri is the behavior and outlook on life of Lampung people who are still held firm to this day. It is hoped that through this strategy the historical awareness of the students at Public High School 2 Kalianda in Lampung Province will increase amidst the current of Industrial Revolution 4.0. This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection was conducted in January and February 2020 with natural conditions, primary data sources and more data collection techniques in participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that there must be a change in conventional history learning resources to a digital history book that can understand current students without losing their cultural identity.
