The rapid technologisation of translation has influenced the translation industry’s direction towards machine translation, post-editing, subtitling services and video content translation. Besides, the pandemic situation associated with COVID-19 has rapidly increased the transfer of business and education to the virtual world. This situation has motivated us not only to look for new approaches to online translator training, which requires a different method than learning foreign languages but in particular to look for new approaches to assess translator performance within online educational environments. Translation quality assessment is a key task, as the concept of quality is closely linked to the concept of optimization. Automatic metrics are very good indicators of quality, but they do not provide sufficient and detailed linguistic information about translations or post-edited machine translations. However, using their residuals, we can identify the segments with the largest distances between the post-edited machine translations and machine translations, which allow us to focus on a more detailed textual analysis of suspicious segments. We introduce a unique online teaching and learning system, which is specifically “tailored” for online translators’ training and subsequently we focus on a new approach to assess translators’ competences using evaluation techniques—the metrics of automatic evaluation and their residuals. We show that the residuals of the metrics of accuracy (BLEU_n) and error rate (PER, WER, TER, CDER, and HTER) for machine translation post-editing are valid for translator assessment. Using the residuals of the metrics of accuracy and error rate, we can identify errors in post-editing (critical, major, and minor) and subsequently utilize them in more detailed linguistic analysis.

Information Technology development has been a driving force to improve teaching materials more effectively and efficiently nowadays. Revolution in teaching must be done continuously without neglecting reading or listening habits as has been practiced. In addition, in the year 2020 the global Covid-19 pandemic happened which has forced the education institution to change the conventional way of learning. Having been implemented to avoid the crowd, online learning needs a new strategy in its implementation. In fact, the online teaching and learning system is not free from obstacles, especially in courses requiring fine motor skills like those in the Basic Drawing course. One of the solutions to tackle the problems is by designing modules to be used as course materials. Online medium developed nowadays utilizes module platform with instructions in pdf format and video materials. This paper describes how modules have been used to implement teaching and learning in one semester during online learning nowadays. Key words: online learning, module, drawing course

In the face of difficulties of teaching and learning due to the impact of Covid-19, online lessons have become vital. This has also affected the teaching of Mandarin as a foreign language at universities. Since Mandarin is considered as a difficult language to learn especially to non-native learners, teaching online has posted an even greater challenge to Mandarin language instructors. This study thus examines the use of a combination of platforms and applications online, customised to create an online learning system called ‘Pocket Mandarin’ to facilitate online Mandarin learning at the beginner level. The purpose is primarily to enable learning to take place in a fun and interactive manner by means of online flashcards, pronunciation, games and quizzes placed in an LMS platform called Padlet. To better understand how ‘Pocket Mandarin’ can effectively facilitate online teaching and learning among EFL basic learners at the tertiary level, a survey method was applied and it consisted of 5 parts which are students’ motivation, students’ attitude, cognitive development, design and interface as well as expectations. The results show that ‘Pocket Mandarin’ was positively accepted by the students who found the lessons motivating, upbuilding, cognitively applicable, with exceptional design and interface and was better than their initial expectations. Thus, there is great potential for the ‘Pocket Mandarin’ to be widely used at a greater scale.

At the same time that visual media play an ever expanding role in culture and society, technology offers new opportunities for using them in teaching and learning, far beyond what was possible with traditional analog image collections. Faculty and staff in art and art history, the library and instructional technology at James Madison University have collaborated in the creation of the Madison Digital Image Database (MDID), an innovative online teaching and learning system, to accommodate the exploding need for visual information. MDID is an open source system for managing digital images including personal image collections and displaying them in the classroom. Its support for sharing image collections among institutions and the expanding community of users offers new opportunities for collaboration in providing visual media for teaching and learning.

Abstract—In this era of the Covid-19 pandemic, students are getting used to online learning or daring. In supporting online teaching and learning activities, electronic modules have been developed so that the learning system can run in two directions and be more interesting. For this reason, this study aims to (1) Design and implement the development of electronic modules based on learning projects in Web programming courses at ITB AAS Indonesia. (2) To find out student responses to the development of project-based e-modules based on Web programming courses at ITB AAS Indonesia. This study uses research and development methods. with the development of the ADDIE model. To determine student responses to the electronic module, the researcher uses questionnaires. The results of the study show that: 1) The results of the design and implementation of e-modules that have been developed on web programming courses that use learning project-based learning models can be applied. 2) The results of the percentage of students who gave a very good response really good were 58,1%, good 22,5% %, sufficientt 19,4% and there were no students who gave less, or very less responses.

The very rapid transition to the online teaching and learning system, without sufficient training and not proper adapted to the educational needs of students (already migrated to virtual environments and digital tools), has produced some visible dysfunctions, especially in informal interactions with students. Dimensions investigated using a methodology based on the survey’s technique aimed at types of academic activities carried out during the period dedicated to online activities, participation in online activities of ‘synchronous’ type – face to face – categories of online applications used, types of platforms for asynchronous activities and classical teaching strategies most commonly used in association with online educational techniques. The population was represented by students and teachers from the fields of study administrative studies and academic categories that will provide a serious input for formulating conclusions. We propose to launch a practical module for the training of university professors on the innovative pedagogies applied to the administrative sciences and law academic fields.   Keywords: Teaching and learning, administrative studies, digitalisation / digitisation, innovative pedagogies.

In today’s education system, it requires creativity and effective strategy for the teaching and learning system to run smoothly. Not to mention the pandemic happening nowadays requires efforts among the educators to create a new education system that could fulfill the teaching and learning needs. However, the lack of usage and efficiency in implementing online teaching activities in integrating ICT facilities has become a constraint in having a successful online education system. Therefore, more research should be conducted by combining ICT with the implementation of the current education system. In that notion, this research is conducted by studying the use of the Edmodo software in Mathematics learning especially on the effect on student’s resilience. The objective of this research is to study the learning scenario and concept in using the Edmodo network platform and explore the development of resilience in the overall context through online mathematics learning using Edmodo. This is qualitative research conducted among 10 form 4 students in Kudat. Findings from this research are self-regulated strategies for using Edmodo systematically in mathematics lessons among students in various adaptation stages. Next, the result of this research also found the effects of using the platform in creating resilience among the students in terms of changes in their behavior by showing commitment and continuous effort. The implications of this research will provide the opportunity for researchers in the future who wish to pursue research in mathematics education from a different perspective especially the combination of ICT facilities. At the same time, this research can be a practical solution in today's challenges in online teaching and learning implementations.

Actual movements in socio-economic life around the world impose e-learning and e-presence and moving digital is more than online teaching. Present research analysis was conducted on two different types of institutions: public and private universities from Europe, with different teaching and learning system: American and European. Information was congregated through face-to-face and online interaction with representative people from universities. The present research paper aims to demonstrate how a digital campus, with all its aspects, can perform a crucial role in enriching the university campus’s structure and culture to ensure the quality of teaching, research, and administrative management using actual innovative technologies. More than this the present paper underlines the society benefits from implementation and running a Digital university campus, especially in a time of socio gathering restrictions.

With the rapid development of Internet, e-learning has become a new teaching and learning mode. However, lots of e-learning systems deployed on Internet are just electronic learning materials with very limited interactivity and diagnostic capability. This paper presents an integrated e-learning environment named iCLSR. Firstly, iCLSR provides an online environment for instruction and collaborative learning, which gets rid of the constraints of time and space. Second, online teaching and learning evaluation data from instructors and learners can be collected by iCLSR and can be analyzed with an improved PSK-means clustering algorithm. Third, the learning object lists can be recommended for learners based on online evaluation results and their learning history. The application of iCLSR demonstrates that it can recommend appropriate learning materials for learners, inspire communication between learners and instructors, save time for users and therefore improve the instructional effects and learning performance.

This study aims to explore how lecturers’ perceptions about technology integration into online teaching and learning differ depending on their differences in age, gender, teaching experience and IT level in the context of the e-learning system of Hochiminh City Open University. An online questionnaire was delivered to individual emails of 101 lecturers operating at least one online subject. The results showed all the university online lecturers strongly consent that computers outweigh traditional face-to-face teaching methods. Nevertheless, insufficient guidance on how to properly and productively combine IT into lectures is their greatest of concern. Next, teaching seniority and gender – two personal attributes – are so useful indicators for selecting most appropriate online instructors, however IT certificates. Those all intensively credit for the university management to properly build-up IT capacity for their teaching staff within their online learning system. Accordingly, some useful and practical implications in starting-up a technology love culture in the institutional environment are proposed.
