Program Implementation of the Physical Plant Division and Quality Education in Mindanao State University, Philippines

The Physical Plant Division, as implementing arm of the University, provides support services which include implementation of infrastructure development plan on buildings and support facilities, roads and grounds, campus amenities among others. The study focused on the level of program implementation of the Physical Plant Division in terms of infrastructure development as perceived by the different groups of stakeholders and how it affects the delivery of quality education in rela­tion to instruction, research and extension. The study used the descriptive method conducted at Mindanao State University, Marawi City, Philippines, comprising 559 administrators, faculty, staff and students. The data were analysed and interpreted through weighted means, multiple linear regression analysis and F-test. The study found out that quality education in its trilogy function: instruction, research and extension, declined through the years as perceived by the respondents and supported by records. Perception level on program implementation of the Physical Plant Divi­sion differed, and found to be moderately effective due to lack of administrative support, continuous decline in budget allocation, and low political will to imple­ment the desired programs. The study concluded that there is a significant relation­ship between program implementation of the Physical Plant Division and quality of education of the University.Keywords: Quality and excellence, educational services, program implementation

ABSTRACT This study aims to obtain empirical evidence regarding budgetary participation influencing managerial performance, clarity of budgetary goals affect managerial performance, budgetary feedback influences managerial performance, budget evaluation affects managerial performance and difficulties in budget goals affect managerial performance. The sample used in this study were 78 respondents consisting of Deputy Chancellor II in Finance, Director and Deputy Director of Finance at the University Administration Center level, Deputy Dean II for Finance and Financial Sector Managers at the Faculty level, Chair and Secretary of Departments / Departments, and Finance Managers at the Venture (PTN Business Institution) level in three State Universities in Jakarta and Depok, namely the University of Indonesia Jakarta and Depok, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta and Jakarta State University. Sampling was done using the purpose sampling method, the data of this study was obtained through a survey by distributing questionnaires. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques which were processed with the help of Statistical Product and Service Solution Software (SPSS) for Window Version 22. The results showed that five characteristics of the budget target were budget participation, budget feedback, budget evaluation and difficulty in clarity of budget goals partially does not affect managerial performance. While the clarity of budget targets partially influences managerial performance. Whereas in simultaneous testing there are influences on budget participation, clarity of budget targets, budget feedback, budget evaluation and difficulty in clarifying budget targets for managerial performance. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan bukti empiris mengenai partisipasi anggaran berpengaruh terhadap kinerja manajerial, kejelasan sasaran anggaran berpengaruh terhadap kinerja manajerial, umpan balik anggaran berpengaruh terhadap kinerja manajerial, evaluasi anggaran berpengaruh terhadap kinerja manajerial dan kesulitan sasaran anggaran berpengaruh terhadap kinerja manajerial. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 78 responden yang terdiri dari  Wakil Rektor II Bidang Keuangan, Direktur dan Wakil Direktur Keuangan di tingkat Pusat Administrasi Universitas, Wakil Dekan II Bidang Keuangan dan Para Manajer Bidang Keuangan di tingkat Fakultas, Ketua dan Sekretaris Jurusan/Departemen, serta para Manajer Bidang Keuangan di tingkat Ventura (Lembaga Bisnis PTN) yang ada pada tiga Perguruan Tinggi Negeri di Jakarta dan Depok yaitu Universitas Indonesia Jakarta dan Depok, Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta dan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purpose sampling, data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui survey dengan menyebarkan kuesioner. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis regresi linear berganda yang diolah dengan bantuan Software Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) for Window Versi 22. An exploration and analysis of the processes involved in crafting the institution’s strategic plan, identifying its quality assurance policies, documenting its graduates’ performance in government licensure examinations, description of the processes to ensure sustainability of educational programs, and portray the administration’s fund generation and management mechanisms was made in an effort to create a model for quality education in the University of Eastern Philippines, University Town, Northern Samar. It utilized the descriptive-evaluative method of research with a total of 400 respondents composed of students, faculty members, alumni, community residents, and University officials. Qualitative data were taken from respondents’ answers to open-ended questions, which were then validated through interviews.  Quantitative data on the other hand, were taken from both primary data derived from responses to items in the questionnaire, and secondary data on graduates’ performance in professional examinations. It was revealed that most stakeholders were aware of the institution’s strategic plan, although some were not consulted in the crafting of such an important document.  They aver that policies and guidelines are established, implemented, and strictly adhered to by the administration in its daily operations involving faculty, students, staff, fund generation and management, instruction, research, extension, production, faculty development, and student support services. Although graduates performed consistently well in some government examinations, in the years 2009 – 2014 they performed generally below the national average.  Respondents agree that curricular programs must regularly be updated to conform to minimum standards set by the Commission on Higher Education to ensure sustainability of programs.  For students to be globally relevant and competent, respondents agree to the provision of educationally qualified and competent teaching force, state-of-the-art facilities, modern instructional materials and methods, coupled with good governance and cooperation among stakeholders, are the key ingredients of an ideal quality of education in the University of Eastern Philippines.

This study aimed to determine the effect of perception and motivation to Students Career Interests in Taxation of Departement of Accounting Faculty of Economics at the State University of Jakarta. This study used 75 students S1 Departement of Accounting, State University of Jakarta which is still active academic year 2010. Data used in this study is primary data and selection of samples using a convenience sampling method. The analytical tool used is multiple linear regression analysis at a significance level of 5%. The first phase of testing the validity and reliability of the statement of each variable. The second stage, performing variable regression perception and motivation towards a career in the field of taxation the interest of students. The results of testing the feasibility of the model shows that the two independent variables, namely perception and motivation affect the career interests of students in the field of taxation Accounting Department of Economics at the State University of Jakarta simultaneously.

The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between pre-service teachers’ self-efficacy beliefs and preparedness to teach. In this context, the model of the research is the relational screening model. The sample of the study consisted of 407 fourth grade pre-service teachers who were studying in a state university. Data were collected using three types of data collection tools. These, personal information form, self-efficacy belief scale and being ready for teaching. In the analysis of the data, correlation analysis, descriptive and multiple linear regression analysis were used. As a result of the research, it was determined that the pre-service teachers’ readiness and self-efficacy beliefs were high. In the study, it was found that there was a moderately significant and predictive relationship between the pre-service teachers’ self-efficacy belief and preparedness to teach. Various suggestions have been made based on the results of the research.

ABSTRAKPengelolaan sampah telah menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang jamak terjadi di perkotaan. Produksi sampah meningkat seiring dengan pertambahan penduduk dan jumlah konsumsi serta gaya hidup masyarakat, namun tidak diimbangi dengan pengelolaan sampah yang ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan. Untuk itu, diperlukan upaya untuk mulai mengurangi, memisahkan, dan memanfaatkan sampah. Program Kang Pisman adalah konsep yang diperkenalkan oleh Pemerintah Kota Bandung untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi efektivitas Program Kang Pisman dan mengetahui faktor yang memepengaruhinya. Evaluasi efektivitas perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah hasil dari program tersebut sudah sesuai dengan tujuan awal perencanaan. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner terhadap 98 rumah yang menjadi sampel penelitian. Efektivitas Program Kang Pisman penting untuk diteliti begitu juga faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap program tersebut agar dapat digunakan sebagai bahan evaluasi program dan menjadi masukan dalam membuat kebijakan lebih lanjut tentang pelaksanaan program. Hasil skoring variabel efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa Program Kang Pisman ada pada tingkatan cukup efektif. Untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi efektivitas program, dilakukan analisis regresi linear berganda dengan enam variabel bebas, yaitu komitmen pemerintah, kemudahan menjalankan program, kinerja petugas pelaksana, ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana, peran Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) dan persepsi masyarakat. Faktoryang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap efektivitas adalah persepsi masyarakat dan kemudahan dalam menjalankan program.Kata kunci: evaluasi efektivitas, kang pisman, pengelolaan sampah. ABSTRACTSolid waste management is one of the global problems faced by urban areas. Waste generation increased according to population growth and followed by consumption and lifestyle, however not balanced with the management of waste that is environmentally friendly and sustainable. We need to reduce, sort, and reuse the waste. The Kang Pisman Program is a concept introduced by the Bandung City Government to overcome this problem. The objectives of this research are to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and its influential driving factors. Evaluation of effectiveness needs to be held to find out wheater the results of the program are following the original purpose. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method with a questionnaire instrument to interview 98 houses as a sampling. The effectiveness of the Kang Pisman Program is essential to evaluate as well as the factors that influence the program so that it can be used as a program evaluation material and be input in making further policy regarding program implementation. The scoring result shows that Kang Pisman Program is at quite effective level. To find out the factors that influence the effectiveness of the program, multiple linear regression analysis was carried out with six independent variabels, namely goverment commitment, ease of running the program, the staff performance, infrastructure, the role of NGOs and community perceptions. Factors that have a significant influence on effectiveness are community perception and ease in running the program.Keywords: effectiveness evaluation, kang pisman, waste management.

Demplot urban farming program is a part of some activity series of MURIA (Marunda Urban Resilience in Action) focused on the effort to introduce urban farming to Marunda village residents in order to improve environment and economic aspect. The objectives of the study are to: 1) To analyze the motivation of Marunda village residents on demplot urban farming program implementation, 2) To identify affecting factors of the motivation of Marunda village residents on demplot urban farming program implementation. Analytical descriptive method was used as basic method. Sampling method of this study usedsimple random sampling with total respondents were 60 people residents of Marunda village who’s join on demplot urban farming program. Proportion statistical test and multiple linear regression analysis were applied for data analysis. Research results showed that Marunda vilage resident’s motivation toward implementation of demplot urban farming program reached level at 73,33%. Marunda vilage resident’s motivation was significantly affected by attitude, role of the supervisor, and availibility of infrastructures.

Abstract: This study aims to find the influence of perception of the teacher profession and self-efficacy on the interest of becoming a teacher in students of the Office Administration Education Study Program of the Faculty of Economics, State University of Surabaya Class of 2017. The type in this study is explanatory research with quantitative approach. The data is collected through research instruments using questionnaires. The analysis method is multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS 25 application. The results of the study were: (1) The perception of the teacher profession positively and significantly influenced the interest in becoming a teacher in students of education department of office administration unesa 2017. (2) Self-efficacy does not have a significant influence on the interest in becoming a teacher in students of unesa office administration education program 2017. (3) The perception of the teacher's profession and self-efficacy positively and significantly affect the interest of teachers in students of education department of office administration of UNESA 2017. Abstrak: Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendapati pengaruh persepsi profesi guru dan efikasi diri terhadap minat menjadi guru pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Negeri Surabaya Angkatan 2017. Jenis pada penelitian ini yaitu penelitian eksplanatori dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui instrument penelitian dengan menggunakan angket. Metode analisis yaitu analisis regresi linear berganda dengan aplikasi SPSS 25. Hasil penelitian yaitu: (1) Persepsi profesi guru berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap minat menjadi guru pada mahasiswa prodi pendidikan administrasi perkantoran UNESA 2017. (2) Efikasi diri tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap minat menjadi guru pada mahasiswa prodi pendidikan adminitrasi perkantoran UNESA 2017. (3) Persepsi profesi guru dan efikasi diri berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap minat mnejadi guru pada mahasiswa prodi pendidikan administrasi perkantoran UNESA 2017. This study aims to determine the effect of compensation, work discipline and organizational commitment on the performance of the lecturer at Putra Indonesia University YPTK Padang. This research was conducted at the Putra Indonesia University YPTK Padang. The population in this study were all lecturers at the University of Indonesia Putra Indonesia YPTK Padang. The sample in this study were 50 people with porposional techniques. Types and sources of research data consist of primary data that is data obtained from the opinions of respondents through research questionnaires, and secondary data that is data obtained from the University of Putra Indonesia YPTK Padang Data analysis techniques used in testing the research hypothesis are multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 17.0 program. The results found that: 1) compensation had a positive and significant effect on the performance of the University of Putra Indonesia YPTK Padang lecturers; 2) Work discipline has a positive but not significant effect on the performance of the Indonesian Putra University YPTK Padang lecturer; 3) Organizational Commitment has a positive and significant effect on the performance of the University of Putra Indonesia YPTK Padang lecturers; and 4) Compensation, work discipline and organizational commitment together have a significant effect on the performance of the lecturer at Putra Indonesia University YPTK Padang with a contribution of 46% and the remaining 54% is influenced by other factors not included in the scope of this study.
