The position of a gifted education staff person is high-profile. Inherent in the role are pressures, demands, and criticisms which can lead to burnout. Teacher burnout is debilitating in its personal and professional effects; therefore, teachers of the gifted must capitalize on their strengths and learn strategies for coping with high-visibility roles and often inflated expectations of others. Furthermore, administrators must support and encourage these teachers as they endeavor to provide differentiated learning experiences for gifted students.

Abstract Objective: To investigate the impact of virtual learning experiences (VLEs) in school amongst disadvantaged 9 to 11-year-olds: specifically, do virtual experiences increase their knowledge, motivation and independence in learning about a topic, and does this increase their cultural capital. Methodology: Participants explored virtual experiences on countries around the world, with the number of facts learnt before and after recorded. Questionnaires were also completed to record views of virtual experiences. Findings: Findings suggest virtual experiences were successful in teaching participants new information, and increased their independence and motivation to engage with learning, and thus could be successful in increasing cultural capital. Significance difference testing revealed that disadvantaged pupils recorded fewer facts than non-disadvantaged pupils, and therefore virtual experiences were not sufficient to close this disadvantage gap. Value Added: The value of virtual experiences being woven into curriculums is discussed as a platform for teaching cultural knowledge. Recommendations: Virtual learning experiences should be considered a core resource for teachers when planning and should be embedded into the curriculum to enhance learning experiences for disadvantaged pupils. Further research should continue to explore the use of VLEs in Primary schools, and the impact of VLEs on cultural capital.

Reconsumption refers to the act of rereading books, rewatching movies, revisiting places and re-experiencing hedonic experiences more generally. In a retrospective consumer culture, replete with prequels, sequels, reboots and rereleases, there is considerable scope for expansion. This article reconsiders the reconsumption concept. Based on an in-depth, 3-year study of neo-burlesquers in France, it reveals that reconsumption is evident in a communal context; that the concept is applicable to sequels not just re-experienced originals; that it holds good when ‘post-phenomenological’ research methods are employed; and that nostalgia is its driving force.

Learning can be much like Odysseus' journey to Ithaka as described by Cavafy in his 1992 prose, Ithaka, full of spectacular adventures, enchantment, and the odd monster or two. Social studies, in particular, offers opportunities for adventures and discoveries, especially when thoughtful planning has been done. In fact, curricular planning can be compared to storing supplies and setting a course to sail through unfamiliar seas; it can reap great rewards for those on the journey. Two of the most important elements are the basic social studies concepts and universal themes that provide a structure for in depth learning. By systematically developing and connecting these components into an integrated structure, the teacher can develop an array of learning experiences that address varied interests, abilities, and levels of challenge of gifted students.

Purpose: to identify the health effects of aquafitness on physiological parameters of women of the first mature age. The following research methods were used to solve the tasks set in the work: theoretical analysis and generalization of data of scientific and methodological literature; pedagogical methods; anthropometric research methods; physiological methods (vital index, strength index, Robinson index, Stange test, Genchi test, Kerdo index, Rufier test, index of functional changes (Kettle index); methods of mathematical statistics. We checked the statistical significance of the difference between the indicators before and after the experiment using nonparametric Wilcoxon criteria (p≤0.05), which were used to establish the shifts of the corresponding indicators. The research was conducted on the basis of the fitness club "Sport Live" in Chernivtsi. The transformation experiment involved 24 women aged 21-31 years. Classes were held in accordance with our comprehensive aqua fitness program, which is designed for 6 months. Class duration is 60-80 minutes, three times a week. The program developed by us included exercises from the arsenal of aqua stretching, hydroshaping, aquadance, aquarism, aqua building, aqua taibo. Results. The data obtained on the somatic health of women aged 21-31 years show a significant improvement in the results (p≤0.05) of anthropometry, the functional state of the cardiovascular, respiratory system, autonomic nervous system, physical condition and performance. During the conversion experiment, the following indicators improved: life index from 45.96 ± 4.69 to 48.88 ± 0.68; power index from 35.80 ± 1.07 to 43.26 ± 0.71; Robinson's index from 85.72 ± 12.34 to 89.63 ± 10.11; barbell samples from 30. 28 ± 10.32 to 37.78 ± 12.34; Genchi samples from 16.48 ± 4.24 to 25.19 ± 4.58; Kerdo index from 5.23 ± 10.16 to 0.86 ± 8.34; Rufier's test from 12.21 ± 4.26 to 8.03 ± 2.14. Conclusions. The effectiveness of the aqua fitness program for women of the first adult age is confirmed by the results of positive changes in body weight, improvement of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems of the body. The proposed program of classes provides optimization of the level of physical, functional and mental condition, solving problems of correction and prevention of functional disorders in health and allows to meet the needs for leisure, recreation and self- improvement of women of the first mature age.

Much of this may transcend into educational research, in which the literature review will be the essential component in clarifying what is already known about the topicand in documenting any unanswered questions to take the research forward. This process will often scope concepts and theories, research methods and strategies, significant controversies, and inconsistencies in findings related to the area. The literature review is the informative, evaluative and critical synthesis of a particular topic and provides readers with a clear picture of the subject and its associated range of perspectives and opposing views. In most cases, they are invaluable to readers because they collect evidence from a variety of sources that is evaluated and synthesised into a readable format.This paper provides a narrative overview of the concepts and practices of literature searching for new educational researchers within physical sciences. A guidance checklist to searching the literature and a list of suggested publication outlets is also listed.

The village, or what is called by another name, existed before Indonesian independence. Regulations regarding villages are regulated in several laws and regulations. The purpose of this research is to analyze and find a comparison of the authority of village administration before and after the implementation of Law no. 6 of 2014. Research methods, types of normative legal research, with philosophical approaches, statutory approaches, conceptual approaches, and historical approaches, using primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials. The obtained legal materials are processed and analyzed prescriptive normatively. In conclusion, the comparison of village government authority before the implementation of Law No. 6 of 2014 places the village authority in two roles, namely the authority to manage its own household, and the role as the lowest government under the sub-district head, and the uniformity of villages throughout the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, before the implementation of the Law No.6 of 2014, the authority of the village government remains with the district/city government, so that the authority of the village government is always in a truncated and amputated position.

This article argues for the incorporation of library instruction into research methods courses to foster information literacy skills important to disciplinary specialization. The evidence in support emerges from a collaborative teaching and assessment project conducted by a research methods instructor and a faculty instructional librarian. The project evaluated the effectiveness of library instruction in two ways: One, essays in which students described their research process before and after library instruction were evaluated qualitatively for dominant themes. Two, students’ postinstruction literature review projects were assessed using a rubric to determine the degree to which students met learning outcomes. These assessments indicate that library instruction led to several positive outcomes. In the essays, many students described increases in skills and confidence as well as appreciation for the new research tools introduced. In sampled literature review assignments, students demonstrated skills that met or exceeded expectations.
