We investigated whether prescribing an agreement can result in optimal inter-individual integration of perceptual judgments in absence of verbal communication. Participants in pairs performed a localization task in a virtual 3D environment, where the goal was to make projections from an upper plane to the target on the bottom plane. Partners were provided with complementary viewpoints and could be optimal if each took over one orthogonal dimension. In the Revision condition partners saw each other’s individual judgments and could rely on them. In the Agreement condition they provided a joint response. In both conditions communication was not allowed. We found that participants could optimally distribute the dimensions, but only when agreement was mandated. Without the agreement requirement, participants failed to properly rely on their partner on the dimension where the latter were more accurate. We also found, that prescription of agreement exerts a general positive effect on individual performance. Our results demonstrate that even in absence of verbal communication, interacting in a shared environment can result in optimal integration of perceptual information under the condition that an agreement is reached.

A teacher who knows the type of motivation can create the conditions to reinforce the appropriate positive motivation. If this is a motivation related to the outcome of the training, the conditions for its support, promotion, demonstration of the usefulness of the acquired knowledge for the future can be the creation of a positive public opinion. Abstract McCaffree's challenge to traditional definitions of religion, and his suggestion that religiosity is about individual integration into a moral community are discussed. This is taken as an opportunity to examine difficulties in defining religion, and attempts to go around the definition issues by offering analogies. Religious emotion, as discussed by William James and Emile Durkheim, is found to be no different than strong emotions directed at our secular commitments. Devotion, and self-sacrifice are discussed in both religious and secular context. The denial of death and fantasies about an afterlife are central to religion, and are unlikely to disappear in the foreseeable future.

The goal of this article consists in the analysis of Eastern psychosomatic techniques for determining the possibility of their use in modern psychological practices. The growing interest in the Eastern psychosomatic Buddhist and Taoist practices is observed in the humanities; they are actively implemented in correction of psychological problems that arise among the residents of urban agglomerations. The author demonstrates the interaction between the Russian culture and Eastern civilizations, as well as formulates a thesis on the continuity of cultures of the Eurasian region. The examples of interrelation of the methods of Eastern psychosomatic techniques in the correction of psychological problems of modern individual are described. The article provides the results of empirical study to prove the hypothesis of the possible correlation of psychological problems of an individual by Eastern psychosomatic practices. For acquisition of statistically significant data, the author employs psychosemantic technique, and for verification of the statistical hypothesis – χ2 criterion. The sampling consists of practicing psychologists with over 10 years of experience. In the course of the study, the hypothesis has been proven correct. Practicing psychologists do not have sufficient information for implementing Eastern practices in counseling; however, getting familiar with such practices, consider it promising to synthesize Eastern practices in their work, and indicate psychological effectiveness for solution of the problems of modern individual. Integration of the principles and methods of Eastern practices into psychotherapeutic activity would prompt versatile and comprehensive understanding of the existential problems of personality, as well allow using the acquired knowledge in counseling.

The article is devoted to integration problems. The author shows that successful integration of migrants depends on ensuring basic rights: to decent work, access to education and medicine. Therefore, the economic and legal basis for their institutional security is important. It is necessary to shift the focus of state regulation of integration from the Federal level to local government. Shift the focus from the group, societal level of integration of migrants in the Russian Federation to the individual level. The issue of the need for legislative introduction of the concept of “individual” integration of migrants as an object of migration legal relations is discussed. It is suggested to apply integration contracts based on the experience of Western countries (France, Germany, Netherlands), which need to be fixed by law. This will allow to control the success of integration not only by the state, but also by the Russian society. First of all, at the local, settlement level, where the integration of migrants takes place directly.

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of integration of school gardens and identify factors that predict integration. 211 New York City schools completed a survey that collected demographic information and utilized the School Garden Integration Scale. A mean garden integration score was calculated, and multiple regression analysis was conducted to determine independent predictors of integration and assess relationships between individual integration characteristics and budget. The average integration score was 34.1 (of 57 points) and ranged from 8 to 53. Operating budget had significant influence on integration score, controlling for all other factors ( p < .0001). Partner organizations, evaluation/feedback, planning the physical space, and characteristics of the physical space were positively and significantly related to budget. The results of this study indicate that any garden can become well integrated, as budget is a modifiable factor. When adequate funding is secured, a well-integrated garden may be established with proper planning and sound implementation.
