The aim of our current research is to analyze the socio – linguistic aspects such as (age, gender, place, time, race, proper names, food names, moral and educational values) in the translation of Dominiga's novel by the Spanish writer Gonthaloa Torrenta Payster (1999). The translator's   way   of conveying those values to readers of young ages and youth. In this analysis, we have relied on the classification of the humanities and English translation, Andrew Chesterman. This classification includes sixteen variables, and each of these variables has a default value that has been classified into 4 groups which are (balance variables, language variables, translator variables and finally structural frame variables for the translated text). We raise several questions, including: - What are the considerations that the translator should take into account when translating for children and youth? - What knowledge and sciences must a translator possess in order to convey the main idea of the original text to readers of young ages and youth? - Is it possible for anyone with sufficient linguistic knowledge to translate a work directed at children and youth, or does he need to be familiar with the psychological, mental and social aspects of this category of readers?              Each society has its own customs, traditions, ideas and beliefs that distinguish it from other societies. Here , the translating must take into account these aspects when translating any literary work from one language to another , especially if this work is intended for children , adolescents and youth , due to the importance and danger  of these age stages and their impact on the formation of the personality of the child and young person , and directing it towards the right direction and avoiding all stories and novels that carry ideas that contradict the concepts and beliefs of the society in which the young reader lives . Therefore, the researcher wants to present through this research information, observations, analysis and strategies that the translator used when translating these aspects, and whether he used the correct method in translation or not.

The article investigates the ways of representing the Holocaust in children’s literature published in Poland in the 21st century (e.g. Joanna Rudniańska’s Kotka Brygidy and Smoke by Antón Fortes and Joanna Concejo). Phenomena such as anti-Semitism or death of the main character, called by researchers and critics inappropriate for a young audience, are analyzed with the use of the research on taboo in children’s literature (Bogusława Sochańska and Justyna Czechowska) as well as confronted with the threat of “traumatization” of the young reader (Małgorzata Wójcik-Dudek). The analysis proves that the Shoah only appears to be well-represented in children’s literature as many topics are still omitted.

This article researches the role of contemporary children’s historical fiction as well as fiction with social and political topics that use the elements of fairytales or fantasy to form historical and political (or civil) views of children. The use of artistic devices typical for fairytales is discussed in the article in a frame of the possibility of making historical information attractive and understandable for a young reader, even in such difficult cases as wars, political repressions, or authoritarian governments. This way the authors of books discussed in the article are able to tell much more about the essence of historical events and/or to create the conditions for understanding of the political organization of the society than if they would stay strictly with the realistic genres. For learning purposes, historical fairytales and fairytales discussing politics allow to meet very complicated educational challenges that satisfy a particular interest in history and/or politics natural for small children and to create the motivation to master the historical material.

<span lang="EN-US">The author of the article in an anthroponomastic interpretation of literary texts sees the chance to sensitize the young reader not only to the fate of the characters of the texts, but also to other people. De-digitization of the literary character’s name proposed to students in Polish language lessons encourages them to resignation from interpretative schemes, enriching interpretation with a completely new context. In this sense, learning about language supports innovative readings, convincing students that literature lessons can become ethical workshops during which we improve the art of meeting with other people.</span>

Today, reading and comprehension of the texat is very important in improving the functional literacy of students. Researchers believe that a comprehensive, multifaceted analysis is needed to recognize the text. It is necessary not only to understand the features of the semantic content and compositional structure of the text, but also to take into account the author's position, the author's inner world, creative individuality, worldview, to whom he wrote the work. However, today we get acquainted only with the external content and form of the work, without recognizing and understanding its internal meaning and content. Today's young reader is not accustomed to reading the work in depth. The article demonstrates and theoretically substantiates methods based on increasing students' understanding and cognitive activity through functional learning.

Realistic children’s literature published in Latin America in the last thirty years allows us to see how the author transfers sensitive and complex information to the young reader. This article aims to present some of the reasons of this issue and the way the author approaches a potential reader. Children literature have long been believed to contain values that contribute to shaping the character of the young reader. The children fiction from many countries always offer noble values that can influence the character formation. This study discusses social values in the Cinderella fairy tale (Indonesian version) and the story of Putri Arabella (the Malaysian version). This study used a comparative literature approach to obtain a comprehensive comparison between the fairy tales of Cinderella and Putri Arabela. The data were analyzed using the content analysis method to obtain a sharper and deeper meaning behind the qualitative data in the form of words, phrases, dialogues and narratives. The results of the data analysis found that the two stories both contained social values, the value of compassion, advice to help others, and a sense of responsibility. Besides having similarities, these two stories also contain differences. The differences were found in the characterization and setting of the story. This is because this story originates from two different countries which contain different social conditions.

The paper describes two books containing accounts on participation in the International Gordon Bennett Cup ballooning race: “Kościuszko” nad Ameryką [“Kościuszko” above America] by Zbigniew Burzyński (1934) and Balonem “LOPP” nad Morze Białe [Above the White Sea in the “LOPP” balloon] by Stanisław Brenk (1937). The Polish achievements in the competition had a significant impact on the interest in ballooning in the interwar period. The texts discussed in the paper are visibly inspired by reportage and travel novels. The books had a propaganda nature: intended for the young reader, they highlighted the attractiveness of the army and the importance of the Polish army in the world.
