Abstract Social media is recent generation of Recommender Systems (RS). Health Care Recommender System (HCRS) term used to analyse the medical data and then predict the disease of a patient with the help of various techniques used in RS. To ensure the quality and trustworthiness of medical data, machine learning algorithms are applied. Even though, there is a much gap between health care diagnosis and IT solutions. To evade this gap, the hybrid Fuzzy-genetic approach is used in HCRS. In this, Genetic algorithm is used for similarity computations with the help of mutation and crossover operators. Later fuzzy rules are generated for the data set with the additional personalized information of a user. Considering these approaches, the proposed model enhances the quality of recommendation in HCRS.

The Sidi El Hani Wetland is located in Eastern Tunisia. It represents the natural outlet of an endorheic system, Mechertate-Chrita-Sidi El Hani, and it collects all the eroded sediment from this watershed. In this chapter, the visual core description focused on three reference sandy bands and on the concept of grey scale variability in order to infer the clay pan response to the climatic variability and erosion during the last two millennia. First, in the uppermost part, the stage Warming Present (WP) stretches from (1954-80= 1874) to 1993, i.e. ≈120yrs; the establishment of modern conditions is characterized by stable conditions with high grey scale. Added to a small salt crust, this period is dominated by a clayey sedimentation. Second, the stage C4 is called the Late Little Ice Age (Late LIA); it stretches between the 80yrBP and 400yrBP, i.e., 320yrs. It is characterized by intermediate GS values; the clayey sedimentation makes up the twofold and threefold laminates. Based on laser granulometer, the genetic approach shows the interplay of eolian and hydraulic erosion.

Background: The genetic factor of urolithiasis plays an important role in the etiology. Elucidation of responsible genes can lead to better targeted gene therapy and prevention in the future. This article aims to explain various genetic factors that play a role in kidney stone formation Method: A review article on urolithiasis based on a genetic approach is reported to underlie stone formation. A total of 41 abstracts and research articles published by internationally reputed journals were selected based on the keywords genetic factors and urolithiasis. Summary: A deeper understanding of the genetic factors that play a role in the mechanisms of stone formation and advances in molecular and pharmacogenomics have revolutionized diagnosis and treatment, and paved the way for the identification of new therapeutic targets and treatment approaches based on genetic engineering.

As the (Covid-19) pandemic spreads, the creativity of the scientific community is thriving while trying to control the situation. They are trying to treat patients viably and work with the almost exhausted medical equipment and staff, while growing new, successful antibodies. Successful screening of SARS-CoV-2 empowers fast and proficient determination of COVID-19 and can relieve the weight on medical care frameworks. Numerous forecast models are being created to comprehend and prognosticate the spread of the pandemic and to stay away from the following wave. But in the coming time, we can be sure that the models would experience the ill effects of a few issues, security being one of them. All the models need to be built in such a way that the investigation task gets successfully conducted without compromising the privacy and security of the patients. To take care of this, we propose a blockchain framework for sharing patients’ personal data or medical reports. A blockchain will take care of the integrity part, but we still need to worry about confidentiality. Therefore, combining a genetic approach with a blockchain seemed like a good idea. A twofold hybrid methodology is proposed in this paper to tackle the issue of confidentiality. The outcomes displayed high entropy accomplishment for the utilized dataset. The sensitivity of the plaintext and ciphertext is also checked and compared with existing approaches which thus demonstrates the security of the proposed approach in the given setting.

Abstract Background Central America and the island of Hispaniola have set out to eliminate malaria by 2030. However, since 2014 a notable upturn in the number of cases has been reported in the Mosquitia region shared by Nicaragua and Honduras. In addition, the proportion of Plasmodium falciparum malaria cases has increased significantly relative to vivax malaria. Chloroquine continues to be the first-line drug to treat uncomplicated malaria in the region. The objective of this study was to evaluate the emergence of chloroquine resistant strains of P. falciparum using a genetic approach. Plasmodium vivax populations are not analysed in this study. Methods 205 blood samples from patients infected with P. falciparum between 2018 and 2021 were analysed. The pfcrt gene fragment encompassing codons 72–76 was analysed. Likewise, three fragments of the pfmdr1 gene were analysed in 51 samples by nested PCR and sequencing. Results All samples revealed the CVMNK wild phenotype for the pfcrt gene and the N86, Y184F, S1034C, N1042D, D1246 phenotype for the pfmdr1 gene. Conclusions The increase in falciparum malaria cases in Nicaragua and Honduras cannot be attributed to the emergence of chloroquine-resistant mutants. Other possibilities should be investigated further. This is the first study to report the genotype of pfmdr1 for five loci of interest in Central America.

The Antarctic Specially Protected Areas (ASPAs) are zones with restricted access to protect outstanding environmental, scientific, historic, aesthetic, or wilderness values adopted inside the Antarctic Treaty System. Meanwhile, in southern Patagonia, conservation initiatives are implemented by the state of Chile and private entities. However, both are considered unrepresentative. Our work evaluates the representativeness of the in situ conservation through a genetic approach of the moss Sanionia uncinata (Hedw.) Loeske among protected and neighboring free access areas in Maritime Antarctica and southern Patagonia. We discuss observed presence with both current and reconstructed past potential niche distributions (11 and 6 ka BP) in the Fildes Peninsula on King George Island. Results showed occurrence of several spatially genetic subpopulations distributed inside and among ASPA and free access sites. Some free access sites showed a higher amount of polymorphism compared with ASPA, having ancestry in populations developed in those places since 6 ka BP. The different spatial and temporal hierarchies in the analysis suggest that places for conservation of this species in Maritime Antarctica are not well-represented, and that some free access areas should be considered. This work represents a powerful multidisciplinary approach and a great challenge for decision-makers to improve the management plans and the sustainable development in Antarctica.
