The article provides data on the development of a new thickening composition for printing cotton-lye fabric with antibacterial properties based on biodegradable polymers Chitosan synthesized from Apis Mellifera bee dead with CMC with addition of CMC and synthetic hydrolyzed acrylic emulsion. Studied the fungicidal properties of the developed mixed thickener for active dyes used in printing fabrics. As a result of observations, it was revealed that these new thickeners on the basis of exhibit pronounced antimicrobial activity in relation to the micelle fungus Aspergillus terreus. The optical density of the samples shows that these thickeners are resistant to mycelial fungi. Among thickeners, thickeners based on Uzhitan-?MS-HAE, Uzkhitan-CMS have the most pronounced bactericidal activity, and these thickeners are more stable, they can be used the next day and even on the second day for printing mixed fabrics.

To provide practical feeding management guidelines preceding a stressful episode during farming practices, European sea bass juveniles (initial weight: 72.3 g) were fed for 60-days different fish meal (FM) and fish oil (FO) dietary levels [high (30% FM, 15% FO, FM30/FO15), intermediate (20% FM, 7% FO, FM20/FO7), and low (10% FM, 3% FO, FM10/FO3)] in triplicate conditions. Fish were then fasted for 36 h and exposed to a 2-h acute crowding (80 kg m–3 biomass). Plasma biochemistry, skin mucus parameters and gene expression of stress and immune-related genes were performed before, at 2 and 24 h after crowding. At the end of the trial, the FM10/FO3 group showed lower final body weight, weight gain, and specific growth rate compared to the other treatments. Most of the plasma parameters were mainly affected by crowding condition rather than diet; however, after stress, lactate was higher in the FM30/FO15 group compared to the other treatments. Similarly, protease, antiprotease, peroxidase and lysozyme in skin mucus were mostly affected by crowding conditions, while fish fed FM10/FO3 displayed higher skin mucosal IgM and bactericidal activity against Vibrio anguillarum and V. harveyi. Most of the stress-related genes considered (hsp70 and gr-1 in the brain; hsp70, gr-1 and gr-2 in the head kidney), showed an overall expression pattern that increased over time after stress, in addition, hsp70 in the head kidney was also up-regulated in fish fed FM30/FO15 after stress. Higher plasmatic lactate together with the up-regulation of some stress-related transcripts suggest a higher reactivity to acute crowding of the stress-response mechanism in fish fed high FM and FO dietary levels. Otherwise, the higher skin mucosal IgM and bactericidal activity observed in fish fed FM10/FO3 dietary levels seems to indicate that acute crowding was able to activate a higher pro-inflammatory response in this treatment. Overall, the results of the present study seem to indicate that 10% FM and 3% FO dietary levels might affect stress and immune responses.

Objective. To assess the susceptibility of K.pneumoniae and A.baumanii strains isolated from hospitalized COVID-19 patients to antibiotics and their combinations.Materials and methods. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of meropenem and colistin were determined for 47 A.baumannii and 51K.pneumoniaestrains isolated from the hospitalized COVID-19 patients by the broth microdilution method. The susceptibility to 11 antibiotic combinations was assessed using the method of multiple combination bactericidal testing.Results. Colistin resistance was detected in 31.9 % of A.baumannii strains (MIC50 — 0.5 mg/l, MIC90 — 16 mg/l) and in 80.4 % of K.pneumoniaestrains (MIC50 — 16 mg/l, MIC90 — 256 mg/l). It has been shown that double antibiotic combinations with the inclusion of colistin exhibit bactericidal or bacteriostatic activity against 76.6–87.2 % of A.baumannii strains. Combinations with the addition of meropenem, colistin and macrolides exhibited bactericidal activity against 78.4–80.4 % of K.pneumoniae strains. Combinations of two carbapenems were not active, the combination of meropenem-colistin had a bactericidal effect only in 13.7 % of K.pneumoniae strains.Conclusion. Widespread colistin resistance was found in carbapenem-resistant K.pneumoniae and A.baumannii strains isolated from the hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The combinations of antibiotics that have a synergistic antibacterial effect in their pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic concentrations have been determined.

BackgroundDelamanid (Dlm) is an effective drug against drug-susceptible and drug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains, including Multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MDR-MTB). There are few reports on the activity and secretion of cytokines caused by Dlm on macrophages infected by MDR-MTB strains. Therefore, this article aims to observe the bactericidal activity and secretion of cytokines of the macrophages infected by MDR-MTB strains after Dlm was administered, so as to provide a basis for further perfecting the mechanism of Dlm.MethodsSamples were respectively collected to count the intracellular colony-forming unit (CFU) of macrophages infected by MDR-MTB or H37Rv strains at 4, 8, 24, and 48 h after Dlm at MIC, 10MIC, and 20MIC were administered. Samples were respectively collected to detect the level of IL-12/23 p40, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-10 in the culture supernatant of macrophages infected by MDR-MTB or H37Rv strains at 4, 24, and 48 h after Dlm at MIC were administered. The levels of four cytokines in the culture supernatant were measured using the Luminex® 200™ (Luminex, USA) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Data were analyzed by SPSS 25.0 software. The continuous data in normal distribution were expressed as mean ± standard deviation (x¯ ± s) and analyzed by t or F test. P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results(1) After Dlm was applied to macrophages infected by MDR-MTB strains:(A) The intracellular CFU gradually decreased, reached the lowest value at 48 h, and was lower than that of Dlm before administration and infection group (P<0.05). (B) The intracellular CFU was further reduced after increasing Dlm dose to 10MIC and 20MIC, and the latter was lower than that of the former (P<0.05). (C) The intracellular CFU of MDR-MTB group was higher than that of H37Rv group at 4~48 h after administration (P<0.05). (2) After Dlm at MIC dose was applied to macrophages infected by MDR-MTB strains: (A) The level of IL-12/23 p40 at any time didn’t change compared with that of Dlm before administration (P>0.05), while the level of IL-12/23 p40 at 4 h was higher than that of the infection group (P<0.05). The levels of TNF-α at 24 and 48 h were higher than that of Dlm before administration (P<0.05), but were similar to that of the infection group (P>0.05). In addition, the levels of IL-12/23 p40 and TNF-α at any time were similar to that of the H37Rv group after administration (P>0.05). (B) The levels of IL-6 at 24 and 48 h were higher than that of Dlm before administration (P<0.05), but were similar to that of H37Rv group (P>0.05) and were lower than that of infection group (P<0.05). The level of IL-10 at any time didn’t change compared with that of Dlm before administration (P>0.05), but was lower than that of the infection group at 4~48 h and was lower than that of the H37Rv group at 24 h (P<0.05). (C) The level of IL-12/23 p40 and IL-10 didn’t change with the change of intracellular CFU (P<0.05), while the level of TNF-α and IL-6 increased with the intracellular CFU decreasing, and the increase level of TNF-α was lower than that of the infection group (P<0.05).ConclusionsDlm had strong bactericidal activity against intracellular MDR-MTB, which was time-dependent and concentration-dependent. Its bactericidal activity against intracellular MDR-MTB strains was weaker than that against drug-susceptible tuberculosis strains. Dlm might have immunomodulatory effect, inducing low expression of Th2 cytokines IL-6 and IL-10 at different times after administration.
