Subject. The article is an attempt to evaluate how the COVID-19 pandemic influences the economic development in Russia, illustrating the case of the tube rolling industry. Objectives. I examine and evaluate how adverse crisis implications of the COVID-19 pandemic could possibly be eliminated in the tube rolling industry, ensuring the economic security of Russia. Methods. The study involves methods of empirical and theoretical research, such as systems and empirical analysis, formal characterization, abstraction, observation, generalization, assessment, and partial methods of economic and statistical analysis. Results. I generally describe the economic situation during the COVID-19 pandemic, evaluate the impact of ties between the oil and tube rolling industries on the economic sovereignty and security of Russia, role of the tube rolling industry in the economic security of the State. I analyzed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the goods circulation in the tube rolling industry and found probable implications of economic destruction for Russia due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and proposed possible solutions for the tube rolling industry. Conclusions and Relevance. The economic security of the tube rolling industry during the current pandemic is exposed to the destruction of foreign trade between countries exporting tube rolling products, price drop and a reduction in the consumption of energy resources worldwide, capital flight, a decrease in labor resources, slowing business activity and restricted transportation tube rolling products, growing uncertainty on the consumption of tube rolling products. The menacing threats can be eliminated given the State intervenes and regulates the Russian tube rolling industry so as to create favorable conditions for the beneficial economic operations.

Purpose. Providing deformation conditions in order to obtain the required texture of pipes made of Ti-3Al-2.5V alloy based on the choice of rational values of the tool calibration parameters gauges and mandrels during cold pilger rolling of pipes for the required Q-factor distribution along the deformation cone. Methodology. The research methods were based on the existing dependence, which describes the influence of the distribution of the ratio of true reduction along the deformation cone along the wall thickness and along the average diameter, on the distribution of the Q-factor value. The calculation of calibration and all deformation parameters of the Cold Reducing tube process was based on a number of existing theoretical and empirical dependencies included in the generally accepted and adapted methods of their computation. To perform calculations, we created the software product Q-Factor. Cold pilger tube rolling. Findings. The influence of the initial taper of the mandrel with a curvilinear generatrix and the sweep of the groove ridge, the degrees of steepness of the generatrix of the mandrel and the sweep of the groove ridge, the value of the feed on the distribution of the Q-factor along the compression zones and pre-finishing of the deformation cone were investigated by calculation. The use of slope degrees n, equal to 1.5, i.e. less than values of crest slope degree had the most significant effect on obtaining the Q-factor close to equilibrium distribution along the length of wall reduction and pre-finishing zones. A method of multifactor calibration of the tool for cold pilger rolling of pipes is proposed, which makes it possible to select rational values of the initial taper of the mandrel with a curved generatrix, the degree of slope of the sweep of the groove ridge and the mandrel, and to create conditions in the wall compression zone for obtaining the required type of metal texture of cold-rolled pipes made of titanium alloy Ti-3-2.5V. At the same time, in the prefabrication zone, in all investigated cases, there is a drop in the Q-factor values below one. Originality. New knowledge was obtained about the influence of the rolling route and the full complex of tool calibration parameters in the process of cold pilger rolling of pipes on the distribution of the Q-factor along the length of the deformation cone. Practical value. A method for determining the modes of deformation with an extended compression zone and without a pre-finishing zone is proposed and tested with positive results. This method provides a distribution of the Q-factor along the reduction zone of the deformation cone which is close to uniform distribution and with values above one. The results obtained make it possible to select the conditions for obtaining the required type of metal texture of cold-rolled pipes from titanium alloy Ti-3Al-2.5V using the software product Q-Factor. Cold pilger tube rolling.

Soil animals are a very important biological factor in soil formation and the formation of high soil fertility. The soil is abundantly inhabited by numerous representatives of different groups of animals, for which it represents not only the habitat but also the result of their combined activity. Changes in soil invertebrate complexes are important indicators of industrial pollution. A study conducted on a natural cenosis grey–brown soils under wormwood–ephemeral vegetation contaminated waste Aluminum Plant and Tube–rolling Mill of Sumgait. Our purpose is to carry out soil and zoological research (as well as samples taken for microbiological analyzes) and on basis collected material and subsequent detection of a theoretical analysis of the major dominant groups bioindicators. Soil and zoological studies will help the future identify invertebrates that are most resistant to pollution factors, which can also be used as bioindicators of technologically polluted soils.

Purpose. Study of patterns of formation of structure and properties as well as the surface quality of boiler tubes in the process of tube rolling at TPA 30-102 tube rolling unit from non-worked continuously cast billets (CCB) of steel 20 produced by Dniprostal Metallurgical Works LLC. Methodology. Metallographic examination (macrostructure, microstructure, contamination by non-metallic inclusions); tensile and impact bend tests at room and elevated temperatures, determination of susceptibility to mechanical aging, long-term strength tests, visual inspection of the billet and the tube surface. Findings. Quality indicators of metal of the CCB produced by Dniprostal Metallurgical Works LLC and hot-rolled tubes produced at TPA 30-102 tube rolling unit from the CCB including service properties were investigated. Regularities of influence of quality of the initial CCB metal, technology of tube processing (hot rolling and heat treatment) on the formation of structure and properties as well as on the state of the boiler tube surface were established. Draft Technical Specifications were developed for the CCB produced by Dniprostal Metallurgical Works LLC intended for production of boiler tubes. Originality. For the first time, based on the revealed regularities of influence of the initial CCB on the formation of quality indicators of tube metal, Technical Specifications for high-duty continuously cast billets produced by Dniprostal Metallurgical Works LLC have been developed which make it possible to produce boiler tubes of high service reliability. Practical value. The research results will allow enterprises of Interpipe Ukraine JSC to produce boiler tubes of high service reliability from continuously cast billets produced by Dniprostal Metallurgical Works LLC. The use of billets of home production will reduce the cost of boiler tubes and eliminate the shortage of boiler tube billets in Ukraine. Keywords: continuously cast billet, hot rolling, elongation ratios, boiler tubes, heat treatment, macrostructure and microstructure, cast structure residues, mechanical properties, heat resistance, defects.
