Abstract Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) vows to enable simultaneous spatially-resolved investigation of hundreds of metabolites in tissue sections, but it still relies on poorly defined ion images for data interpretation. Here, we outline moleculaR, a computational framework in R, that introduces systematic probabilistic mapping and point-for-point statistical testing of metabolites in tissue to MSI. Beyond statistics, moleculaR allows for arithmetic operations within the same MS image and thereby, for instance, analysis and visualization of complex scores like the adenylate energy charge ([ATP]+0.5*[ADP])/ ([ATP]+[ADP]+[AMP]). moleculaR also enables collective molecular projections, for example of all potassium versus all sodium adducts for spatially-resolved investigation of ion milieus, or for surveys of lipid pathways or other user-defined biomolecular ensembles.

A degradation assessment technique based on an online improved symbol sequence entropy online_ISSE and a logistic regression model is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the threshold factor is introduced to retain the `coarse graining' information of direction changing and amplitude information, the `sensitivity' of improved symbol sequence entropy (SSE) to impact components is reduced and improved symbol sequence entropy (ISSE) is proposed. Then, a sliding window and Weibull distribution theory are used to effectively filter out the influence of fluctuations in the ISSE feature sequence, forming the degradation feature named online_ISSE. Finally, a logistic regression model is trained and constructed, and the health factor CV is calculated online to assess the degradation condition of the unknown signal samples. The lifetime vibration signal of the hoisting gearbox monitored from #8114 quay crane of the Shanghai Port Container Terminal is introduced for instance analysis. The results show that the proposed ISSE has a better effect in describing the complexity pattern than the SSE algorithm and that the degradation condition can be tracked and assessed accurately based on the technique proposed.

In this chapter, the authors present a system that uses smart immunization and develops structures to allow collaboration between parents, healthcare workers, and government agencies to cooperate at a grass-roots level to help spread immunization, collect and upload demographics, and allow for its multi-instance analysis. This system will enhance the spread of vaccination and reduce vaccine hesitancy. Information is coagulated and presented as statistical results that are presented in an engaging visualization form. Further, a reminder system has been set up to enable automated email service for parents by reminding them of proper and timely vaccinations. It collates the immunization data to present usable demographics for timely interventions, as may be necessary. The immunization perspective is retrained by easy storage and retrieval and quick remedial measures to contain the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases and reduction in child mortality. Statistical analysis has been done to predict immunization spread among different regions and detect any possible epidemic.

Targeting issues in initial allocation of carbon emission allowance in port industry, this study puts forth a mixed allocation method that uses the baseline method for handling production allowance and the historical intensity method for auxiliary production allowance. This study clarifies the organizational boundary and operational boundary using this method, analyzes related factors, and provides the computational formulas. In the instance analysis, the specific calculation process of applying this method to specialized container terminal, specialized dry bulk terminal and general terminal, as well as the value method of basic data and correlation coefficient are given. Compared with the single use of historical intensity method or baseline method for allocation of allowances, although the operation of the mixed allocation method is relatively complicated, it not only considers the historical emission basis of the emission control enterprises, but also achieves a fairer and more reasonable performance by setting the baseline intensity of the loading and unloading production links. This research will help drive port companies to enter the carbon emissions trading markets as soon as possible, playing a promotive role in catalysing sustainable development of port companies.

Abstract With the progress of building materials and building technology, the span of bridges is becoming larger and larger. This paper briefly introduces the incremental launching construction technology of a bridge and the incremental launching construction technology of pontoon fulcrum conversion, makes an instance analysis on a large-span steel arch bridge that adopted the incremental launching technology of pontoon fulcrum conversion in Shaoyang, Hunan, China, and makes a simulation calculation on the construction process using Midas civil software. The construction process was monitored using stress sensors and total station. The results showed that the simulation results of the stress and deformation changes of the steel arch bridge in the construction process were close to the actual monitoring data, and the variation trend was basically the same. The finite element model effectively simulated the stress and deformation changes of the steel arch bridge in incremental launching. With the progress of construction conditions, the maximum stress and deformation degree of the arch rib increased first and then decreased, the maximum stress and deformation degree of the main longitudinal beam showed an increase tendency, the maximum stress of the front guide beam increased first and then decreased, and the deformation degree gradually decreased.

<p>Volcano eruption forecasting typically links ground deformation patterns to sub-surface magma movement. Injection and inflation of magmatic intrusions in the shallow crust is commonly accommodated by roof uplift, producing intrusion-induced forced folds that mimic the geometry of underlying igneous bodies. Whilst such forced folds have previously been described from field exposures, seismic reflection images, and modelled in scaled laboratory experiments, the dynamic interaction between progressive emplacement of hot magma, roof uplift, and any associated fracture/fault development remains poorly understood. For instance, analysis of ancient examples where magmatism has long-since ceased only provides information on final geometrical relationships, while, studies of active intrusions and forced folding only capture brief phases of the dynamic evolution of these structures. If we could unravel the spatial and temporal evolution of ancient forced folds, we could therefore acquire critical insights into magma emplacement processes and interpretation of ground deformation data at active volcanoes.</p><p> </p><p>We put forth and aim to test a new hypothesis suggesting that thermoremanent magnetization (TRM) records progressive deflection of the host rock during incremental laccolith construction and that these measurements can be used to measure the rate of laccolith construction. Here, we integrate palaeomagnetic techniques with semi-automated, UAV-based photogrammetric structural mapping to test: (1) whether we can identify variations in Natural Remanent Magnetisation (NRM), TRM, and magnetic mineralogy across an intrusions structural aureole; and (2) whether measured magnetic variations can be related to deflection caused by incremental sheet emplacement. Our test site is located within the basaltic lava pile of the ~800 m wide structural aureole of the rhyolitic Sandfell Laccolith in SE Iceland, which intruded <1 Km below the palaeosurface at ~11.7 Ma. We discuss whether palaeomagnetic backstripping can be an effective resource to constrain the rate and magnitude of intrusion-induced forced fold evolution, and thus an effective tool in volcanic hazard assessment.</p>
