Urban commercial complex is an architectural form formed in the high-density urban building environment based on the diversified concentration of human consumption behavior and the composite utilization of space. It can effectively cope with the problem of tight land resources and insufficient development capacity in urban centers and promote sustainable urban development. Additionally, the diversity of functions is the key to ensure its healthy operation. Based on the homogenization phenomenon of commercial complex development in some big cities in China in recent years, this study applies dissipative structure theory and synergistic effect theory to the study of functional diversity system of urban commercial complexes, and proposes a Shannon–Weiner biodiversity index model and calculation indexes based on the functional diversity measurement model. At the same time, correlation analysis and comparative analysis were conducted between the measurement results of spatial vitality and the calculation results of the diversity model to verify the scientificity and rationality of the proposed model. Finally, the SM City Plaza commercial complex in Xiamen was selected as a representative research object to measure the functional diversity of its weekdays and holidays and the coupling relationship between functional diversity and changes in spatial vitality. The calculation results show that although the comprehensive index of functional diversity of SM commercial complex is in a dynamic state of change, the overall level is high. The reasonable proportion of the six functional formats shows a high level of diversity, which effectively promotes the generation of commercial vitality and enhances the comprehensive benefits of the commercial complex; the change trends of functional diversity in time and space dimensions are in line with the actual situation, indicating that the proposed model has certain scientific and application values. On the basis of the completed empirical work, the scope of application and limitations of the calculation model and evaluation method, as well as the optimization of the index system are further pointed out.

Abstract The advancement of Chinese education informatisation construction has injected new vitality into the development of Chinese educational technology in the new era and brought new challenges to the development of Chinese educational technology. Nonlinear dissipative structure theory has been a necessary enlightenment for the development of education informatisation. Based on the theory of nonlinear dissipative structure, the paper explores the relationship between the theory and education and teaching. It constructs a diversified regression calculation model of the information-based teaching ecology. Finally, it points out the strategies and ways to apply the dissipative structure theory to improve information-based teaching.

Asynchronously tuned elementary cellular automata (AT-ECA) are described with respect to the relationship between active and passive updating, and that spells out the relationship between synchronous and asynchronous updating. Mutual tuning between synchronous and asynchronous updating can be interpreted as the model for dissipative structure, and that can reveal the critical property in the phase transition from order to chaos. Since asynchronous tuning easily makes behavior at the edge of chaos, the property of AT-ECA is called the unfolded edge of chaos. The computational power of AT-ECA is evaluated by the quantitative measure of computational universality and efficiency. It shows that the computational efficiency of AT-ECA is much higher than that of synchronous ECA and asynchronous ECA.

As an empirical case, this study selected the illegal production process incidents of rabies and DPT (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus) vaccines by Changchun Longevity Biotechnology Co., Ltd., which occurred in July 2018. Based on the four factors involved in the spread of public opinion, the public health emergency, netizen, network media, and government, Brusselator model, and entropy method were applied to calculate the positive and negative entropy—to verify whether the Internet public opinion system is a dissipative structure. This study verified four evolution mechanisms in Internet public opinion diffusion, among which the trigger point of entropy-control occurred in the germination mechanism, the entropy-controlled disposal point occurred in the outbreak and fluctuating mechanism, and then became latency in the elimination mechanism. It provides a theoretical reference for the government to judge the stage of such diffusion and improve the governance ability of the opinion mentioned above.

If we accept that human body is a dissipative structure, then the recovery of the body should be considered as a redirection of the enegy flows. The recovery of vertebral cartilage through redirecting of inner dissipative flow requires the understanding of how is this case the fact of reversibility can be proven. We proposed the approach, that according to the collected data, satisfies all the scientific requirements.

Low-carbon energy transformation is a major trend in world energy development, and measures to mitigate carbon emissions can vary substantially in terms of the energy they require. A common method of evaluating energy use in energy resource exploitation is energy return on investment (EROI). One of the criticisms of EROI concerns uncertainty regarding the input and output factors for the calculation. To make the issue clear, we interpret EROI in terms of entropy, which is the most basic concept in physics. We consider an energy resource exploitation system to be a kind of dissipative structure and construct a basic entropy analysis framework for an energy resource exploitation system. We then derive the relationship between EROI and entropy change. The theory of EROI is consistent with the basic requirement for a dissipative structure, which is that the total entropy change must be negative. EROI is a method of using entropy theory to evaluate energy resource exploitation. It is inappropriate and unnecessary to quantify all factors as energy units as the input and output factors are multidimensional while energy is a one-dimensional standard. Future development of the EROI method should be guided by entropy theory. A series of EROI related indicators will increase its application and policy significance.

We study symmetric hyperbolic systems with memory-type dissipation and investigate their dissipative structures under Craftsmanship condition. We treat two cases: memory-type diffusion and memory-type relaxation, and observe that the dissipative structures of these two cases are essentially different. Namely, we show that the dissipative structure of the system with memory-type diffusion is of the standard type, while that of the system with memory-type relaxation is of the regularity-loss type. Moreover, we investigate the asymptotic profiles of the solutions for [Formula: see text]. In the diffusion case, it is proved that the systems with memory and without memory have the same asymptotic profile for [Formula: see text], which is given by the superposition of linear diffusion waves. We have the same result also in the relaxation case under enough regularity assumption on the initial data.
