The subject of this research is the polemical linguistic question on the peculiarities of the semantics of proper name. The object of this research is the diminutive forms of Spanish anthroponyms, which function mainly in the colloquial discourse. Analysis is conducted on the semantic peculiarities of such diminutive forms as Paco, Pepe, Charo, Maruja from frequent Spanish anthroponyms, such as Francisco, José, Rosario, María. The analysis of practical material relies on the theoretical provisions and methods of empirical research of the Russian linguoculturologists and psycholinguists, as well as on the data of the Spanish National Institute of Statistics, materials of explanatory dictionaries of the Spanish language, and publicistic texts. The conclusion is made that the colloquial discourse is the core area of verbalization of the diminutive. It is also revealed that the semantics of diminutive forms of Spanish anthroponyms contains additional connotative elements that covey unique ethno psycholinguistic information characteristic to a single linguistic consciousness. Namely the presence of culturally determined components of meaning substantiates the transition of diminutives to the category of appellatives. This article is first to analyze the semantics of diminutive forms of Spanish anthroponyms  as separate proper names, as well as distinguish additional nuances of the  meanings of these lexical unit, which defines the scientific novelty.

AbstractThe aim of this study was to establish a method for geographical origins identification of Panax notoginseng (P. notoginseng) based on abundant chromatographic spectral information. Characteristic fingerprints of P. notoginseng extracts samples were generated by Multi-wavelength Fusion Profiling (MWFP) method based on the HPLC fingerprints established at three wavelengths of 203 nm, 270 nm and 325 nm. The samples grouping results calculated with the averagely linear quantified fingerprint method (ALQFM) and the unsupervised statistical methods based on fusion fingerprints matches with the geographical origins. The Multi-wavelength Fusion Profiling (MWFP) method has been successfully applied to identification of geographical origins of P. notoginseng and shows the advantages compared with single—channel fingerprints. In addition, eight physiologically active components, including four saponins, two flavones and two amino acids, were identified from the most relevant ingredients of P. notoginseng geographical origins by fusion fingerprint-efficacy relationship analysis. Besides the recognized active saponins, other categories of active ingredients such as flavonoids and amino acids should be paid attention to in the producing areas identification or the quality judgment of P. notoginseng.

AbstractThe highly ordered spatial organization of microtubule bundles in the mitotic spindle is crucial for its proper functioning. The recent discovery of twisted shapes of microtubule bundles and spindle chirality suggests that the bundles extend along curved paths in three dimensions, rather than being confined to a plane. This in turn implies that rotational forces exist in the spindle in addition to the widely studied linear forces. However, studies of spindle architecture and forces are impeded by a lack of a robust method for the geometric quantification of microtubule bundles in the spindle. In this paper, we describe a simple method for measuring and evaluating the shapes of microtubule bundles, by characterizing them in terms of their curvature and twist. By using confocal microscopy, we obtain three-dimensional images of spindles, which allow us to trace the entire microtubule bundles. For each traced bundle, we first fit a plane, and then fit a circle lying in that plane. With this easily reproducible method, we extract the curvature and twist, which represent the geometric information characteristic for each bundle. As the bundle shapes reflect the forces within them, this method is valuable for the understanding of forces that act on chromosomes during mitosis.

BACKGROUND With the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the infodemic is emerging. In public health emergencies, the use of information to achieve disease prevention and treatment is particularly important. Although both the Information Acceptance Model (IAM) and Health Belief Model (HBM) have their own merits, they only focus on information or public influence factors to explain the public's online prevention and treatment information adoption intention. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to use IAM and HBM as the framework for exploring the influencing factors and paths in public health events that affect the public’s adoption of online health information and health behaviors, focusing on both information and the public aspect. METHODS We carried out an online survey to collect the respondents (n=501) in China. Structural equation modeling was used to evaluate items and construct reliability and validity via confirmatory factor analysis, and the model goodness of fit and mediation effects were analyzed. RESULTS The overall fitness indices for the model developed in this study indicated an acceptable fit. Adoption intention is predicted by information characteristic (beta=0.266, t=4.454) and perceived usefulness (beta=0.565, t=8.003), which jointly explanation nearly 67% of the adoption intention variance. Information characteristic (beta=0.244, t=4.730), perceived drawbacks (beta=-0.097, t=-3.102), perceived benefits (beta=0.512, t=7.641), and self-efficiency (beta=0.141, t=3.659) jointly determine Perceived usefulness and explanation about 81% variance of perceived usefulness. However, social influence is not statistically significant on perceived usefulness, and self-efficiency did not significantly influence adoption intention directly. CONCLUSIONS By integrating IAM and HBM, this study provided the insight and an understanding that perceived usefulness and adoption intentions of the online health information could be influenced by the information characteristic, people’s perception of information drawbacks and benefits, and self-efficiency. Moreover, people also have proactive behavior rather than reactive behavior to adopt the information. Thus, we should consider these factors to help the “informed public” obtain useful information from two aspects, and one is to improve the quality of government and other official information, the other is to improve public health literacy, to promote trusted information and fight misinformation, thereby contributing to saving lives as the pandemic continues to unfold and run its course.

The research examines the interaction effect between the intensity of market competition and the usefulness of broad scope and timeliness management accounting systems (MAS) information characteristics on strategic business unit (SBU) performance and job satisfaction. Fifty six SBU managers from manufacturing industry in Java and Sumatra had participated in the research. The collecting data used a questionnaire survey via electronic-mail and post. Data were analyzed using a moderated regression analysis. The results showed that the higher the intensity of market competition, the more positive the relationship between the usefulness of timeliness MAS information characteristic, SBU performance and job satisfaction. On the contrary the effect of the intensity of market competition on the relationship between the usefulness of broad scope MAS information characteristic, SBU performance and job satisfaction was not significant.

This chapter describes the first of three chronological schools of market design, in this chapter the Walrasian School. The primary examples come from work by Leonid Hurwicz and Stanley Reiter. The starting point for this approach was the thing-like version of information characteristic of Shannon. We discuss the design task dictated by this approach, as well as the reasons for the eventual failure of this school of design.

AbstractExcess information characteristic to the current environment leads to the need for a change of the organizations’ perspective and strategy not only through the raw data processing, but also in terms of existing applications generating new information. The overwhelming evolution of digital technologies and web changes led to the adoption of new and adapted internal policies and the emergence of regulations at level of governments or different social organisms. Information security risks arising from the current dynamics demand fast solutions linked to hardware, software and also to education of human resources. Business Intelligence (BI) solutions have their specific evolution in order to bring their contribution to ensure the protection of data through specific components (Big Data, cloud, analytics). The current trend of development of BI applications on mobile devices brings with it a number of shortcomings related to information security and require additional protective measure regarding flows, specific processing and data storage.
